  1. For me the question should be, can we buy someone better for less money in the next 3 to 4 transfer windows? If not, there is no point paying a premium now for a "freebie" then need to spend loads on a new centre half. I do worry that we've pushed the boat out on getting the freebies just because we could sign them now, and not necessarily because they were the best long term option. In saying that we could all see the team needed strengthened. Time will tell whether Ally was right or not!
  2. Not to point out even more errors, but it was the Scottish football league division three, not the sfa...
  3. I can only imagine the outcry from both the Celtic fans and the rest of the country if a direct rangers man was appointed to such a prominent position within the sfa. The reaction to Gordon Smith was bad enough! One would expect the two sets of old firm fans to cry out about the other, however from my limited experience and memory, would anyone even suggest that that there would be anything other than vehement opposition from the others if it were a Murray/Bain candidate?
  4. I think it's the principle. Everywhere else in Europe is going to accept transfers from the 1st and 2nd of September, but in Scotland that would mean we could have put through 8 transfers in these days. This would perhaps have meant we wouldn't have signed certain individuals, as better/more suitable players may have been available who were registered at other clubs. I'd love to give the SFA the benefit of the doubt, and not see a conspiracy at every decision, but you know what they say about smoke and fire...
  5. Might be stretching that University of Glasgow education though...
  6. well there you go! That's where it came from...

Edit: it didn't, so here is the link to the twitter feed: https://twitter.com/SFLDivision3
  8. absolutely disgusting comment about the ibrox disaster. surely this is the sort of thing the league should be stamping out. typical in slagging someone else's spelling/grammar, he makes a mistake...
  9. I don't think it's the players/transfer ban issue - it's the direction, mentality and approach to football that is lacking. This was a chance to start from scratch to come back better and stronger. Apparently the more things change the more they stay the same...
  10. Edit: 1-1 draw was bad enough, BUT....
  11. I wonder what odds you'd get on that? depending on what you'd win, maybe worth a cheeky wee fiver?!
