Default Ferguson as the manager's third assistant

Another Fan Board has two separate suggestions that Barry Ferguson is the new no. 3.

    Not a good idea imho.

I will be too but no man is bigger than the club not even me, so I will try and give him a clean slate. I hope it is not him though.

Fergie's Gers return Barry Ferguson in line for a sensational return to Rangers as Pedro Caixinha’s No3

SunSport can reveal the former Ibrox skipper met with the Portuguese boss this afternoon for an informal interview

BARRY FERGUSON looks set for a sensational return to Rangers as part of Pedro Caixinha’s coaching team.

SunSport can reveal the former Ibrox skipper met with the Portuguese boss this afternoon for an informal interview for the No3 position.

And it’s believed Fergie, 39, is now on the verge of landing the job.

We revealed online this afternoon how Gers’ nine-in-a- row legend John Brown was being considered for the role.

Bomber became a shock possibility after being recommended by members of the Ibrox board.

But ex-captain Ferguson has been the No1 candidate since quitting as Clyde gaffer a fortnight ago.

And it’s understood he’s now close to sealing a return to Ibrox where he had two hugely successful spells as a player.

The one-time Scotland skipper left Gers to join Birmingham City in 2009.

That came after the infamous ‘Boozegate’ controversy which saw his international career come to a shameful end.

But he recently talked openly about how much he’d love to return to the club he loves.

Caixinha paved the way for that to happen after agreeing to allow a former Gers player to join his staff, as recommended by the Ibrox board, which led to speculation that Brown was favourite.

Influential directors have been pushing for Ferguson to be appointed and Caixinha is believed to be ready to let that happen.

Final talks are expected to take place before any agreement is rubberstamped but, barring any last minute hitches, Ferguson looks nailed on to get the role.
Graeme Murty is set to remain with the Under-20s.

Veteran striker Kenny Miller was another name in the frame. Miller is out of contract at the end of the season and is still planning to continue playing, but will consider all his options.

Chairman Dave King, meanwhile, will arrive in Scotland on Wednesday for his first face-to-face meeting with Caixinha since he was named as manager.

Mass backwards step. Surely someone will need to have a word with PC. How long until he disagrees with Pedro and aims to get the job himself. This move would have him odds on being the next Rangers manager.

The fact that nobody has yet had a good thing to say about it on this respected forum speaks volumes.

I sent a message on the RFC website. No Ferguson at Ibrox. I know it won't help but it releases a bit of steam.
