We got Sterling as a future replacement for Tav so why not move him to RB with Tav playing RM?.

We all want to see changes to the team for Sunday but I can't see the manager making more than a few at most. Hoping Yilmaz makes it and I'd be surprised to see Tav, Goldson or Lundstram dropped for a semi-final. Can we really expect Balogun or Raskin to come in and offer more despite not playing regularly for months? A side along the following lines looks more likely to me.

I always had the impression that Cortes was a stick-on to be made permanent. In the brief spell he's had he does seem to be first-team quality. And he's only 20.

I would take Cortes over Silva. Even assuming they would both cost the same (they likely wouldn't)

Clubs value potential over everything else.

I still think from the little we have seen of Cortes, he would be a great asset for us so hope we can do something to bring him back, whether its a loan to buy or a straight buy (at the right price of course) Agree about Sima, but every passing game I find myself wondering just how a scout saw Silva and thought thats a player to spend £35-40 million on. Don't get me wrong, in the right league and with the right players around him, I think he could be a great player, but never a £20million+ player

I'm sure Warburton, Gerrard, Van Bronckhorst, Beale and Clement have never thought of this.

On that thinking why not put him at centre forward. 😂

As much as we are all probably guilty of moaning about Tav's poor passing and poor crossing at times during a match he really is one of our best players. He does have deficiencies defending which could be replaced by signing a right back that can only be a right back but you then lose his rampaging runs forward not to mention his important goal scoring. Would changing to a back 3 help cover the space he leaves? EDIT..MOVE TAV TO RM if only to annoy Gonzo. 😉

Then why don’t we move TAV to RM as clearly he lacks the pace most times when he is back tracking back to defence ? No doubting his attacking ability so would it not make sense to move him in a midfield role and sterling over on the right his more desirable position? Tav is whether we like it or not our go to man for goals this season and many other seasons as kris Boyd rightly said we can’t be relying on a DR to get us goals. So move him up into a more attacking role.

It is beyond tiresome but not any less true. The fact that many supporters are asking for Tav, Goldson and Lundstram all to be moved on makes it even more important we get the replacements right.

Will depend on his injury I'd imagine. I think we were very keen to buy him but that may have changed given we've not really seen enough of him. Diomande is a loan with an obligation to buy so that deal is agreed already. Sima I doubt we can afford but another year's loan might be attractive to both parties unless his form gets him a better move. Silva I don't think I'd keep.
