Gersnet Article Summer 2024: Rip it up and start again?
compo replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
There's not much to rip up we don't have any depth in our squad unless someone at the club does a cute bit of wheeling and dealing i dont see us having much in the way of money to bring in some more decent players looks like we are stuck behind the black ball -

Gersnet Article Summer 2024: Rip it up and start again?
der Berliner replied to Frankie's topic in Rangers Chat
Just to keep Rousseau from overreacting ... no new thread just yet; Former Rangers manager Steven Gerrard's Al-Ettifaq are ready to launch an offer to bring 32-year-old Ibrox captain and right-back James Tavernier to the Saudi Arabian club this summer. (Slaati via TeamTalk) Steven Gerrard is closely monitoring Connor Goldson's situation at Rangers as the Al-Ettifaq head coach mulls over a possible double swoop on his former club for the 31-year-old centre-half and right-back James Tavernier. (Daily Record) Trabszonspor are making progress in their bid to sign Rangers left-back Borna Barisic and midfielder John Lundstram, according to reports in Turkey. (The Scotsman) Rangers are keeping close tabs on St Mirren teenager Ethan Sutherland, who has been linked with Manchester City and Chelsea after the Premier League duo recently sent scouts to watch the 17-year-old as he impressed on the wing and at left-back on loan to Alloa Athletic. A good game to watch

Not cynicism as such, more that to evaluate success for someone in a role like that, we likely wont know for a good few years if he has had any impact or not. Such is the nature of youth development.
-
Faute de mieux, but yes, the ‘keeper should do more, much more. Anticipate, intercept, manage the penalty area and above all, get the angles right. Comes to naught, though, if he lets a trundler through his legs.
-
I don't share your cynicism, but he's certainly not been in the role long enough for any results to manifest. He's been at the club 3 years, but only 9 months (?) in his current role. He seems to be highly regarded across Europe.
-
Even 'Keepers are expected to do more now. A pure shot-stopper is not a desirable asset.
-
Not a penalty under the old laws. Disregarding the letter of the law, ancient or modern, it just wasn’t a handball.
-
Certainly not based on his work with us. Not exactly sure what he does, judging by his social media he just travels around Europe giving powerpoint presentations
-
And for football in general.
-
Do I detect a note of irony? Why select defensive players at all? Why not ten Cruyffs and a ‘keeper?
-
Probably based on his work with Royal Antwerp.
-
He's only been here 5 minutes, how can anyone evaluate if he has been a success or not? Must have a good agent.
-
I recall seeing somewhere the base designs were similar so that's why I picked that out. I'm not over fussed on aesthetics overall as long as we have the main stand in place
-
A good result for the toffees last night
-
Alexander-Arnold getting caught at the back post?! Liverpool should punt him. Defenders should defend.
