  1. Introduction After a whirlwind set of opening fixtures which began on the 12th of July against little known Shkupi and ended in disappointment against somewhat more familiar opposition on the 2nd of September, Gerrard and his team have finally had a chance to take a breather, regroup and prepare for this next set of crucial fixtures ahead of the October international break. This group of fixtures will include a much-coveted return to the glamour of Europe with Ibrox set to welcome visitors from Spain and Austria in the shape of Villarreal and Rapid Vienna. However, before then we host more humble opposition managed by a former Gers star with an attack spearheaded by a former Gers star. The Opposition Neil McCann brings his side to Ibrox under immense pressure and with a point to prove. The Dees have endured a horrendous run of five straight losses - including a humbling on their own patch in the cup at the hands of Championship side Ayr United – which sees them languishing at the bottom of the table without a point. A series of listless performances has caused many of their fans to question the instability brought about by the high turnover of players at the club which has seen last season’s mainstays Bain, Hendry, Caulker, Holt, O’Hara, Allan, El Bakhtaoui and Murray all depart the club. Free transfer arrivals from the likes of Woking and Kidderminster Harriers rather than re-investing the Hendry fee signals a club in decline. Having said that, a wounded animal can be a dangerous one and there is some quality in McCann’s side. A certain Kenny Miller seems to age like a fine malt whisky and will be ready to pounce in the box given half a chance. On-loan youngster Kallman is another one to watch after breaking his duck in the 3-1 defeat to Motherwell. Calvin Miller, on loan from Celtic, provides a threat from left back with the ability to get forward and get crosses into the box. However, the most interesting thing to see when the line-ups are announced will be whether Glen Kamara passes a late fitness test. Kamara was linked to Rangers over the summer and some in the summer transfer rumours thread were keen to see him signed. If he returns, there is no doubt he will make Dundee more competitive in the middle of the park. Rangers A passive performance against Celtic gave much cause for concern and raised a number of questions. Some sections of the media were quick to use phrases like “reality check” and many of our own fans were not sure themselves if that is what it was or how great a role the many mitigating factors were playing. What is sure is that the fans are desperate to see a well-rested, well drilled and rejuvenated team put on a show on Saturday and show that it’s back to business as usual. Morale has improved over the international break with Barisic playing the full game against Portugal and Morelos grabbing what we will graciously call an assist in his Colombia debut, followed by high praise from his idol Radamel Falcao. The sight of quartet Coulibaly, Grezda, Dorrans and Rossiter in training was a further boost but the fans will be anxious to see whether Coulibaly in particular returns to the starting line-up. The clash with bottom of the table Dundee at home is the first fixture of its kind since St Mirren, a home game in which we are expected to go all-out attack and win comfortably. Gerrard will want to see a return to the high pressing, high intensity aggressive display which so impressed the fans against Maribor and in the opening half hour against St Mirren and hopefully that’s what we’ll get. Line-up The signing of the highly rated Worrall on loan from Nottingham Forest followed by the capture of Northern Ireland international Gareth McAuley has given many reason to believe that Gerrard plans to utilise 3-5-2 on a more regular basis going forward. Wingers Candeias, Kent and Grezda would be the losers in this formation with Lafferty and Worrall being the primary benefactors. However I’m going to predict a familiar looking 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 with Lafferty paving the way for Candeias and Coulibaly making a return in the place of Ovie Ejaria.

  2. That's his anti-Rangers stance being rewarded. The man who claims "hun" isn't sectarian is obviously the perfect candidate as far as the SNP (who haven't an anti-Rangers agenda, honest guv) are concerned. The usual apologists on here will be delighted.

  3. Any Rangers supporter who votes SNP should ask themselves some serious questions. These people are our enemy. They detest us & don’t hide it.

  4. It feels a bit weird saying it this early in the season but tomorrow is a "must win" game. Two last minute equalisers and a poor show at the Piggery have given us an uphill struggle.

  5. Even better incentive to win tomorrow mhanks drew 0-0.Expect to see rivers of complaint 1-off for them and Dallas had temerity to book lego muncher as well.

  6. I would also love to see Scotland run itself but I certainly wouldn't give my vote to people who sympathise with the murderers of Scottish or British soldiers. Nothing to do with football but any peace loving citizen that lives in these peoples constituency should not be voting for them.

  7. It is appropriate to have individuals from both main faiths on such a panel and also supporters of football clubs as the problem manifests itself around football. However the motivation and past actions of those who are on the panel needs to be considered, because some of those mentioned don’t appear to have credibility with a large part of society in terms of their ability to tackle the causes of sectarianism and contribute constructively to its eradication. In fact many will see them as actively contributing to distrust between communities. Not because of their political or football allegiance but because of language they use, pubs they associate themselves with and organisations such as Govan Emerald who they follow. I would imagine there is a role for Club 1872 here to raise concerns (I know everything falls on them) and to contact the standards committee or a sympathetic MSP as they are currently deciding on whether this new CPG gets approval with the proposed MSPs as the constituent members. They may need to collate info and act very quickly if they think appropriate. http://www.parliament.scot/S5_Standards/Meeting Papers/SPPAPublic_20180913.pdf http://www.parliament.scot/maps/102153.aspx

  8. You couldn’t make it up. on the panel is: Dornan who, along with his open support of a sectarian terrorist group, is on record as saying “Hun” isn’t sectarian, Mason, who is constantly calling for the banning of Orange walks, and White, who was recently called out for anti-Semitic behaviour. It really is a farce.

  11. The fact that you always put your political allegiances before your "favoured" football team shows how far down the pecking order your team are.

  12. how to make a c*** of myself in one easy lesson. I should have said we need place for their horses. I knew that without Googling. If you ever want to watch fantastic horsemanship then watch the Spanish Riding school of Vienna. World famous.

  13. Great preview, well done sir! Absolutely not got a clue about starting lineup but I would expect to see McGregor, Goldson, Katic, Tav, Barisic continue at the back. The other 6, not a clue! Was going to say Morelos but travelling back from South America May well see him a little weary and SG may prefer to start with someone else.

  14. Many in Scotland hate us Rab. Labour , Tory, SNP, liberal, and the common denominator is they support other football teams. I know a lot more labour unionists who hate Rangers than I do SNP folk who hate Rangers. They often masquerade as Hibs, Celtic, Aberdeen, Raith, Hearts, Spartans, DUFC fans etc etc. I want the Rangers fan base to expand and the danger in telling people how to vote or not vote is we end up as an insular, negative, paranoid, curiosity. It’s hard to create positive PR around a club if we fall into ever decreasing circles of negativity and become embroiled in political identity. Im a Rangers fan and scoring goals and winning things is all that matters. Who I vote for or who anyone else votes for should only be their business. It looks like the Tories are going to create a Brexit disaster which has the potential to screw my life like Thatcherism they imposed on me. Labour took us into Iraq and sold our gold and pensions and deregulated the banks. They will all have to try harder than tell me they support Rangers to get my vote. Maybe Ill vote Green.

  19. Just thought I would make people aware of a cracking Twitter page which allows bears to sell classic kits to each other and in some cases, like my own, bring in some much needed cash. Page is run by a Rangers man and he doesn't take a cut, but he's put together a page which is acting as a really good shop window for sellers. I'm in the process of reluctantly selling off my collection and have a couple up today if anyone is interested in having a look. Most of the kits are from the 9 in a row era. https://twitter.com/RangersShirts

  22. Disappointing to see Dundee and Neil McCann struggling. There are nine other clubs I’d rather see relegated than them but signings from Woking and Kidderminster Harriers? That’s a level below Accrington.

  23. Our fanservice said they didn't get more tickets. Especially Glasgow is THE favourite away match in this group for most of our fans so I guess we would have come there with at least 2.000. Don't get me wrong, this shouldn't be a rant now. I just wanted to ask here if any of you could maybe explain if there is a security reason or maybe it was a fault from Rapid`s side or something else.

  24. Cracking debut preview mate - thanks for taking the time to contribute, it's much appreciated! It's really exciting to guess what the XI go be tomorrow as we now have so many options. I suspect your team may be correct though but we'll see if there are any surprises given the schedule we have coming up.

  25. I think the starting line-up is as hard to predict as it's been in a long time. Ejaria has a very strong shout for a start and there's a very good chance he will, but Arfield is an important player for me and has a good goalscoring record for a midfielder too and I think he'll come up with a good few this season. Of course Ejaria has shown recently that he's got that in his game too.

  27. Great preview. Thanks. With regards to the team, I am beginning to wonder about the value of Arfield in the midfield. If Coulibaly and Jack are in there, do we really need Arfield to? I'm not sure Arfield offers enough creativity in the that hole between midfield and Morelos. I would prefer to see Ejaria in there. He would be more dangerous IMO.

  28. I haven't looked at twitter but I doubt you will have lost us listeners. I listened in on the day and have listened to the edited version and I never heard anything that I would be angry about. The Gersnet podcast was set up to hear different views and listeners go away because they hear a view that does not match their own then they will be changing ship on a weekly basis. We are doing well for listeners for the short time we have been on and that against the upsurge of Heart and Hand. It took H&H 7 years to get where they are although the upsurge on people wanting to listen to podcasts instead of the radio has exploded. If you were boring then nobody would have answered so take it as a plus that people are reacting.

  34. Rangers should actually go out their way to invite the non-Scottish BBC to Ibrox. It will highlight the fact we’ve not actually banned them and will also highlight the absolute ridiculousness of the Pacific Quay CSC.
