  1. I'll take Wallace over Flanagan every time at left back.

  3. Who cares about second?! I want first and I firmly believe if we win our next two games and strengthen in January we can achieve it.

  4. St.Johnstone might appreciate our fans when counting up the takings. Over 7,000 at the game today when (last w/e prior to Xmas) attendences tend to drop off. Compare that to under 6,000 when Celtic visited their ground for a Sunday league match in October.

  5. When thousands of Hibs fans ran onto the pitch at Hampden it was just a bit of over exuberance, so I doubt anyone can seriously get worked up about a handful of Bears celebrating with our match winner. Unless there is a hypocritical agenda I'm unaware* of. *?

  6. It might be 'petty and ill-informed' but the thought of Cosgroves long boatrace when Alfredo got his second today gave me a warm glow inside ! ....

  7. That was a strange game. It felt like we had 22 players on a 5-a-side pitch because there appeared to be no room at all for any football. Wallace must have wondered if he's become a bad luck charm now that his last two substitutions have been followed by a goal for the opposition within a minute or two. It was also strange because when Lafferty came on I felt he didn't really do much, but his disruption was enough to take their focus from Morelos. And talking of that wee guy, what a goal his second was. His timing to get in front of the defender was absolutely perfect and a sublime finish. His value increases with every goal. I predicted a hat trick for him, but I'll take the two. You may not agree that it was a strange game, but I'm sure we're all united in our delight/relief that we won the game. We can all go and enjoy Christmas, and hope that Santa brings the 3 points we asked for next weekend, and then maybe a striker and midfielder in the January window. ??

  8. Alfie showing how important he is for this team. We were garbage all day playing long balls up to the wingers looking for crosses into the box until the last 10 minutes where we played round them on the deck and then put the ball in the box from closer to the byline.

  9. Thank God for Alfredo because the rest never looked like they could score to save themselves .

  11. It's about coaching and manager for me. Dreadful tactics. All we do is go wide and look for Tav or barisic to cross or pull back for candiese to cross from deep yet we don't have a single attacking playing who feeds off that type of play. Coulibaly as the midfielder who's to get beyond the forward is laughable. He doesn't have a single attribute to suit that role. Worral is constantly under the ball and makes it look like we are playing goldson as sweeper. Poor management. Only asnwer he has is to put in more crosses. Get the ball down and play through the middle and stop tinkering with the team.

  12. I don't understand what we're trying to do. Any team worth their salt just need to work a wee bit hard and we completely chuck it. And the manager and his coaches seem completely clueless in terms of being able to change the system or personnel to find improvement. Coulibaly off - Lafferty on please. Grezda off - Middleton on please. Let's go 4-4-2 and at least try to take the game to them.

  13. Their goal has been coming we've been really poor first half. The manager needs to stop changing the defence Worrel has been woeful as per ususal and for me it looks like Goldson has no confidence playing alongside him. Absolutely garbage.

  23. Our manager has to smarten up with his team selections. he got the starting eleven very wrong today and should carry the can for that fit first half performance. halliday is not an attack g midfielder and as for coulibaly..... what exactly his position is is a mystery. There's far too much favour shown to under performers. gredza Kent and coulibaly being three players who's ability is not anywhere near the basic standards for rangers. I don't think they would be in the starting line-up for any of the teams in the spfl

  26. Hmmm..not sure I’d agree with you on that one Ian. He was understandably short of match practice & it showed at times. Hopefully theHibs game will help him get up to speed because I don’t think we’ll have Barasic available again til next month

  31. far better team side playing a 4 4 2. hope gerrard takes note. had enough of coulibaly and gredza. imposters. on a plus note the substitutions where made far quicker today and it gave us a fighting chance.

  33. Well, we quite rightly gave the team a lot of stick for the first 60mins or so but to their credit they kept plugging away and got the goals our attacking play deserved in the second half. Just goes to show there's nothing wrong with direct play if you use the right players and system. Going forward it has to be much, much better but at least we can now enjoy our Christmas Day.

  34. Him and Coulibaly mean we're down to nine men which is unforgivable given we're trying to be the attacking team. Coulibaly seems to have no idea at all what he's to do and just runs about like a headless chicken offering nothing. His lack of effort to close down the cross at the goal was embarrassing. But they're not alone and the whole team are hiding.

  38. Jack is an excellent player to have in the squad. A good team is about balance and that's up to the manager to sort out. A very good team needs quality and as well as balance. A VG team that wins things needs mental toughness on top. Jack gives the manager a particular option that is often needed in modern day football and he offers a degree of relative quality within the Scottish game but the balance is lacking wrt quality when it comes to a creative midfielder further up the park. Is Jack mentally tough?....I think he's got potential but I'm not sure he's reached that point in his career yet.

  39. Wonder what the odds was on a Leicester and Palace double. What a strike from Townsend, worthy to win any game. Thats blown the title race open in Liverpools favour. City havent been clicking in the last few games. They were poor against Everton at home in the final third, needed pens for Leicester in the cup and now this result. Its no coincidence David Silva hasnt been fit along with Aguero. I find Bernardo Silva and Mayrez a step below so January will be interesting. Liverpool just seem stronger in most positions at the moment. The game on the 3rd Jan is massive. Annoyed I didnt back Watford yesterday, all week I fancied them but went for the draw. And who would have thought Utd would rock up and Cardiff and play for once! Too obvious. Martial, Rashford and Lingard would be my front 3 and they were brilliant. Mata is a good player and could play behind them but it would mean tweaking the midfield and Pogba can only play in a 3 or 4 man midfield. Sanchez will be next to find another gear, his break will probably have done him good.

  40. Subliminal Times. I suspect most of us thought the worst of BBC Scotland news had passed when former News Editor, Dermot O'Hara left PQ? Recently, a new line of attack has been opened once again on news items. This month, we have seen two stories on poverty and obesity. The poverty issue was highlighted by a family replete in Rangers tops. Similarly, the message on obesity was reinforced by footage of a large Rangers supporter bursting forth from his Rangers top. We live in subliminal times. It's heartening to see BBC Scotland news recovering their aggression. I have mentioned James Cook on a number of occasions, he is the journo that five years past had to apologise for deliberately editing footage of an interview with Ally McCoist. Super was Rangers boss at the time and granted an interview with the Arab, James Cook. It was a long piece, covering all aspects of managing Rangers. The word was, James Cook is the grasping aspirational type. Ferocious ambition drove him to edit the film, twice he decided to make McCoist appear flippant on the topic of sectarianism. He took laughter from earlier, lighter questions, and spliced it into his answers on sectarianism. Deliberately, he altered the story to suit his then bosses' agendas. After apologising for appallingly shoddy journalistic practice, he was promoted to the designation of, 'BBC Correspondent to the USA'. James knew it was a rite of passage thing. James has been promoted yet again, he is the new News Editor of BBC Scotland's long awaited second(news) channel. Now, Gersnetters will know Chris McLaughlin has been the recipient of two promotions over the same five year period. James and Chris will team up together this coming February when the new channel launches. I was listening to BBC Radio Scotland's Media Review yesterday, Dr Eamonn O'Neill was scathing on the conduct of Der Spiegel's top journo, Claas Relotius. He admitted to making up a dozen stories over the last several years. He had been awarded Germany's Reporter of the Year accolade on the back of a story on Syrian refugees that he admitted to inventing. O'Neill went on to reference other Fantasy Merchants in both the New York Times and the Washington Post. In conclusion he was merciless on Claas Relotius, "he wants the glory of journalism without going through the ethical hoops". I wonder why Dr Eamonn decided NOT to highlight the unethical behaviour of both James Cook and Chris McLaughlin? We should be told.

  41. If you're Steven Gerrard and you know the current squad isn't good enough to win the league, and you know the board doesn't have deep pockets, then you'd be looking to see whether there are any players who you could sell for decent money so you can fill the critical gaps that are staring back at you every week. Steven Gerrard didn't come to Rangers to sit and watch the world go by and if selling Tavernier or anyone else means, on balance, having a more able squad then he will do it. And so he should.
