  1. Morelos generally works as hard as anyone in the team.

  2. Interesting Sportscene video commentaries from Liam McLeod over recent days. Apparently 'justice was done' when Tav missed his 2nd spot-kick on Saturday. Meanwhile, with the benefit of super slo-mo, McLeod thought 2 of the other 3 were out the box. 'Controversial' was McLeod's byword. Fair enough, he's not wrong. Weirdly though, the same commentator and organisation didn't think two fairly clear RFC penalties were even worthy of footage in the game against Cowdenbeath. Neither was the home side's penalty which was very soft and outside the box discussed as controversial or described as an injustice. Now, it's obvious I'm biased when it comes to analysing incidents for & against my club. Even so, I'm honest enough to admit, 3 of the 4 awards from Saturday were controversial & will split opinion. However, surely I should expect the same fairness and integrity from the BBC and their commentator.

  3. Defoe is just with us and has a lot to prove, reputation wise fine but has to prove it. Don't know if you attend games as when I watch him(Morelos) he makes himself available constantly, chases down lost causes at times, brings fellow team-mates into the game etc. and yes being a striker strives to score as you would expect. Sad to see one on here submitting to mhedia nonsense.

  4. It seems to me that we're adapting our formation because we brought in Defoe and Davis and not the other way around.

  5. He's one of, if not the, hardest worker in the team - how that translates into not being team oriented is beyond me.

  6. Three out of four Rangers penalty calls were right insists former ref Dermot Gallagher Andrew Dallas got three out of four Rangers penalty calls correct - according to former ref Dermot Gallagher. The whistler grabbed the headlines at Ibrox on Saturday as he made a quadruple spot-kick award in Rangers' 4-0 win over St Mirren . The home side converted all but one of the penalties and Dallas has come under fire for his performance. Jermain Defoe faced accusations of diving as he went down under pressure from Paul McGinn - but Gallagher believes that was the only call that was debatable. But Gallagher disagreed: "Great call by the assistant because it's all about where the assistant is. I think it is a handball because he's put his arms up. "He's definitely caught the ball, he's definitely stopped it and it's on the line so it's part of the penalty area. Penalty. "I just think he's had enough time where he has put his arms." And on the final award for a foul on Daniel Candeias, Gallagher added: "I don't know why the player does this. He's just pulled him back it's quite clear. "He's allowed to carry on and it's definitely inside when he finishes. It's a penalty." https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/three-out-four-rangers-penalty-13950631

  7. He is petulant at times and does have his disciplinnary issues. Generally, the media have given this disproportionate coverage and relentless attention to the point of it being campaign like.

  8. Actually the way I see it with the continuous attack on Rangers by ALL media we should close the doors to them all.

  9. The attack on Dallas was led by Steve Conroy the self confessed Celtic fan. It was brutal stuff and Stewart was ridiculous and illogical in his support. Slating the decisions based on his (wrong) interpretation of the evidence and rules and damning the standard of officiating whilst at the same time stating that the ref should have held back from awarding further penalties after the second for no other reason than he had awarded enough (my interpretation of his thinking). He stated Candeias was barely touched as he fell in the box , ignoring that he was manhandled all the way into the box and the real stupidity was the defender’s. The handball was apparently accidental - in other words you can intentionally handle the ball outside the area but if it then accidentally falls onto your hands whilst you are in the area as a result of the same intentional original handball then it’s not a penalty. That is as pretty far fetched and bizarre attempt to declare Rangers guilty of an opposing defenders cheating that you will ever come across - unless you listen to Michael Stewart regularly that is. Steve Conroy the celtic fan stated most refs were Rangers fans and the BBC broadcast this with no supporting evidence. It was mind boggling stuff. Never heard so much c*ap on that show before which is saying something. One real big question is not refs but why we spend taxpayers money on expert pundits who are not experts and are becoming more bizarre by the day and who are frankly as bad at their jobs as the refs they slate and the defenders who can’t defend. There is no way we should ever let the BBC back into Ibrox.

  10. Clarke's talking about refs and Rangers because that means he doesn't need to explain how his side lost to Hearts on Friday.

  11. Perhaps last season, but I haven't seen it that often this season. All goal scorers have a selfish streak in them, and there are occasions when he shows it but look at him at the first Livvie goal for example.

  12. Angela Haggerty - a young, hip, gunslinger? Angela appeared on the Shereen Nanjiani show again yesterday morning. She was accompanied by Murray McDonald and Brian Beacom. Angela was introduced as, "a journalist". As we know, Angela is a pistol packing straight shooter, always prepared to throw the weight of her HND from Cardonald College at any issue. It's the foresight and penetrative thought process that she brings to bear. Those few seconds available are precious as Angela looks injustice square in the face, her hands unholstering both six-shooters. She has completed an objective appreciation and is ready to unload on an unexpecting legitimate target. The steadying mantra of, 'Truth, Justice, and the Isle of Bute way' never fails, in the first hour both Churchill and Theresa May are gunned down. Ruthless Rothesay revenge is righteous. The final thirty minutes throws up another target, Michael Jackson. The King of Pop is straying into Angela's sight lines. The subject matter is, 'Leaving Neverland'; a four hour documentary that is unequivocating in accusing Jacko of heinous child rape and molestation. Dan Reid's film premiered at the prestigious Sundance Film Festival. All the reviews proclaim a most convincing case. A brooding Angela has just stepped down from the Cal-Mac ferry in Wemyss Bay, adjusted her white hat against the glinting winter sun, and is intent on righting the badest of wrongs. Ennio Morricone music completes the ambiance, the bass notes offer a backdrop to the sharpness of Angela's jingling spurs(HND earned). Murray McDonald is hesitant, he likes Jacko's music, whereas Brian Beacom acknowledges growing up amid a whacko soundtrack. Angela is unhesitating, she draws and sustains a withering fire. Society must take a stand, Jackson is visual, you must see him to hear him. An instantaneous reload effected, suppressed flame cuts through the gathering smoke; "it's right to remove Jimmy Saville from old episodes of Top of the Pops", and, "there's a price to pay". Angela dismisses the Jackson Estate's claims of no conviction, "his music should be removed". The strength of Angela's convictions are quite heartening. Here is a hip, young gunslinger determined to adhere to principle. Thus, three former Sellik Boys' Club Chairmen were convicted of child rape and molestation in three separate trials in six weeks before Christmas. Angela knows her Bhoys' football, it was late summer on the very same show, she cited St Cadoc's BC winning a trophy in Holland as her 'moment of the week'. Further, pulling the pin on the white phosphorous grenade that is Jimmy Saville, proves Angela can remove all the oxygen from the air. The Happy Eater entrance vestibule at Sellik Park awaits, Angela will stride purposefully through and ensure society takes a stand?

  13. He isn't being hung out to dry. SG doesn't want him, on footballing grounds. That isn't being hung out to dry. It's the same as thousands of other players who are told the same thing. His problems are self-inflicted.

  14. I'm not suggesting he doesn't work hard. I'm referring to his attitude more than the execution of it.

  16. The only thing that makes me doubt my opinion on this is that Michael Stewart agrees. No penalty and no yellow for simulation was his take. I'm on the look out for horsemen of the apocalypse...

  18. His number of assists would suggest that he often makes decent decisions in the final third too. You would expect Defoe to be better at linking up team mates - he's a better all round striker, more mature and has played at the highest level.

  19. He did not tackle the St Mirren player from behind,he came across to tackle and, if you can get footage, slipped causing him to slide into the player taking a big divot out the pitch where he slipped.

  20. Defoe doesn't even claim for the second one. He is clearly playing for contact, but gets straight back up when it doesnt happen. It was a bad call, make no mistake. But if Clarke is somehow suggesting that Defoe should get a ban... that would be ridiculous.

  21. The second penalty has been widely conceded to be the wrong decision but I'm not sure why? Defoe knocked the ball past him and the defender clearly stuck his leg out and blocked his path without touching the ball. It's hard to tell from the replays I saw but it does look like there contact too but even if there isn't those have definitely been given against us before.

  22. The Sportsound programme this evening will almost certainly be analysing the penalties tonight. You'll probably have Stewart, McFadden, and Broadfoot.D on. They've had a couple of days and the opportunity to look at all the various camera angles. Just as PQ used the 24-48 hours after the OF match to come up with the Morelos montage, they should have been able to ascertain that 3 of the four penalties were penalties and the second (which was missed) was very soft. They can criticise Dallas for the second penalty but if they've done their objective homework, they should now praise him for the 4th award, a very good spot on his part. And of course, they can mention the same referee giving Celtic a penalty that never was in a recent Cup Final. This time, at Ibrox, he and his assistant got the edge of the box decisions correct. ps. Those Bears on twitter should supply Kenny MacIntyre/Michael Stewart with all relevant footage including the Russian Rangers supporters link posted by Der Berliner (below) that has the definitive angle re. 4th penalty. http://rangersfc.org/index.php?dn=news&to=art&id=3605

  23. They showed any incident re the penalties and relevant fouls about three or four times from different angles on RTV during and after the game. Even watching the highlights of the SPFL, only the foul on Defoe is a debatable decision. People spoke about the handball. Fom the video above, watch where the chaps lands after handling the ball. He must have been fully inside the area when hand hit ball, something clearly visible in one of the replays shown. The one with Candeias is equally clear, at least on the line and Candeias hasn't much speed but still falls down about a yard inside the area. As I said above, our play forced errors and if it were errors in the area, it is penalties. It ain't our fault nor the refs, that St. Mirren commited these fouls. BTW, no-one in the media has debated the two penalties wer were not handed last Wednesday. No-one has debated the penalty for Cowdenbeath that never was. Nor has anyone asked why Tansely did not even a yellow card for one of the penalties he gave away. How come? BTW, you can see it better in the RTV highlights over at Russian Rangers ... http://rangersfc.org/index.php?dn=news&to=art&id=3605

  26. I'd say there is at least an even chance that Celtic Park will become the de facto home of Scottish football, with Glasgow council and Holyrood co-funding stadium redevelopment and binding themselves to Celtic FC in perpetuity.
