The biggest difference between strict liability and the recently repealed offensive behaviour act is that the one they didn’t like was the law and the courts & PF generally didn’t discriminate. Strict liability will be run by the scum for the scum within football, so can be as biased as the compliance officer is and only see/hear/scrutinise what Radio Scotland/Sportscene/Daily Rhebel push for punishment, and ignore anything done by green brigade and the like.

I didn't only mean the club but was referring to the fans reaction to speculation. IMO it's too often about players who have played to a very good level in the past but who are very unlikely to get anywhere near that level again. In the past we could get players who were doing well at a very high level (or very recently had been) but finances (especially England) essentially mean that most of those kinds of players that we can realistically attract have been on the downward slope for a while (eg. Kranjcar). What happens too much is a lot of noise is made on arrival, a relatively high wage, struggle to adapt to Scottish fitbaw, injury, expensive deadwood, pay-off.

Dawson, Gray, McCandless, Meiklejohn, Simpson, Brown, Archibald, Smith, English, McPhail, Morton. I never saw any of them play. If I sometimes feel I must have done, it’s because I listened so often to old guys constantly going on about them implanting their memories in my brain.

No room for sentiment. I like Wallace a lot, but his time has gone. I’d rather give game time to a youth player with next season in mind than a sentimental send-off. Almost certainly going to go running to the papers when he is gone, so any goodwill towards him currently will probably evaporate when he does the inevitable Daily Rhebel exclusive on the eve of a big game for us next season. If he leaves and keeps his counsel, he will be welcome back to do the halftime draw anytime!

I think Docherty in particular may be a perfect example of a work in progress. I'm presuming they have told him what he's doing well and what he needs to improve on which only game time will help with.

The only thing that will punished by strict liability will be anti-RC singing and the only club that it will be aimed at will be us. It's just another avenue for them to attack us and it should be resisted. We've seen that Scottish society over a number of years, be it political, media or football, is geared to trying to keep us down and there's absolutely no evidence to suggest that Strict Liability would be any different.
