  1. While the story is more than likely nonsense, it is important our club allows positive high priced stories to make their way into publication. However nonsensical to believe, clubs to follow what is being said in the papers, and the numbers being quoted around Morelos in the high teens approaching £20M are helpful to us to ensure we get a very high price for our asset. The tims have been masters at this for years, and also they give out false info about what they have sold their players for in the hope that the next club that comes along for one of their players knows the sort of numbers they will accept. See the Ki sale to Cardiff/Swansea (cant remember which) The tims told the Scottish media they sold him for £5M, and this was the figure commonly published, although the official price, as always, undisclosed. 2 days later the Welsh club bought another player and announced it was for a club record £4.5M, thus proving the £5M price was grossly overrated. For too long we have allowed negative stories to come out which give much lower values for our players than we could/should have got, and subsequently when proper bids come in they are lower as a result. We all know there is no way on earth Ashley will buy any players from us, far less for a proper price, but as long as the story has a big price in it, it doesnt do us any harm.

  5. The Newcastle story is they are interested IF the takeover goes through, currently that is in doubt with folk questioning if they have money So whole lot to go through before we even get to bid stage or if it’s true Club have told press no contact so is it a nothing story? You decide On Baines, we have been ‘told’ there is an ‘interest’ but no idea how true contract talks are etc but trying to find out So If I do find out anything then I’ll post up

  6. Is Ashley not on the verge of selling to wealthy foreign investors? (Cousins of Man City owners?)

  7. £20m for Morelos, and i'm sure we could bung in Lafferty and Hererra as a gesture of goodwill.

  8. "Ginger": the generic name for mineral waters and similar soft drinks, however flavoured.; alternatively, "skoosh". I even heard, once, the term "glug", applied, but regarded that as some imported aberration. Famously, at the High Court in Glasgow, an Edinburgh silk, questioned a witness in a serious assault trial. The case involved a stabbing, in the living room of a flat in Easterhouse, and the witness advised that she had not seen the assault, as she had retired to her bedroom with crisps and ginger. The QC, clearly worried by what he thought a new turn in the evidence, asked the girl, "And pray, Miss, who is this fellow Crispin Ginger?" The old ones are the best

  13. The chickens appear to be coming home to roost. Celtc seem to have been completely devoid of intelligence by suggesting the Boys Club was a separate entity at one point and subsequently admitting to conducting an investigation into that separate entity. Why would one organisation conduct an internal, secret investigation into a separate entity? One can only hope justice prevails. Let's face it, Separate Entity FC don't have quite the wealth of their mother church and are easier pickings for journalists (with integrity) and legal eagles.

  14. Is it normal practice for ra Sellik to conduct a two year secret inquiry into a separate entity? We should be told.

  15. As someone on RM pointed out they couldn’t have been doing this without informing the stock exchange first as they’re a plc & this could affect share price

  16. I must say, I'd rather not go for Baines. At 34 he's done, and he's not played much in recent seasons.

  17. Not quite. In the High Court in Edinburgh, learned Embra toff, prosecuting, to Glesca keelie witness: ”What did the accused do next?” Witness: “ He went for chips and ginger.” Learned toff: “Who are Chips and Ginger?” Learned judge: “The accused is not charged with assaulting these persons.” Defence counsel (also a Glesca keelie) “ He means the accused went tae the chip shoap furra fish supper an’ lemonade.” That’s the one Len Murray tells. I doubt it myself. No Glaswegian, not even counsel, knows a posh word like lemonade.

  19. After what's happened in previous rounds everyone (including me for a while) seems to think Spurs name is on the cup. If Liverpool click, I can genuinely see them battering Spurs tbh. (Much like Chelsea did to Arsenal in the Europa final). Those Liverpool players will really want to make up for last season IMO. I want Liverpool to win mainly for Klopp. He seems a decent guy and it would be criminal for him and his brand if football not to win big honours.

  20. It started when Stein booted Torbett out of a separate entity. Changing the name of the separate entity, a couple of years ago, set the current board's agenda in motion.

  21. Interested to read the rationale given for not agreeing with the compliance officer. Surely her competence must be called into question as it was very clear brown was not struck in the face. "Compliance officer Clare Whyte flagged the case to three former officials for further assessment, and they unanimously agreed the incident merited a sending off and Flanagan was given a two-game ban. However, that was overruled by a fast-track tribunal on 17 May. Under Scottish FA rules, an offence witnessed by a referee can only be retrospectively punished if it meets at least one of the following criteria - the involvement of excessive force, brutality or a resulting serious injury. Whyte told the panel she would only be arguing that the clash featured brutality, which she defined as "savage, ruthless or deliberately violent". After hearing Whyte, Flanagan and Rangers' lawyers present their cases - which included video replays of the incident - the panel sided with the former Liverpool player. It rejected the compliance officer's claims that Brown had been struck in the face, insisting contact was made with the "chest/neck area of the opponent". Only question remaining unanswered is why was brown not then charged with bringing the game into disrepute for feigning he was struck in the face!

  23. If true make it a 6 month loan to a Premiership club. I'd prefer he was involved here but I'd love to see how he'd get on at a Motherwell/St Johnstone type club too.
