  1. We signed Stewart as a forward though didn't we? I'd expect he'll replace Lafferty and is a much better option. I suspect after that it will be a case of replacing Morelos if he leaves. As for the marquee signing, I obviously want that too, but I don't think we will need it. In the past two weeks, I've picked up my hired car from bay 55, been given a new locker number at my gym (55), and seem to see this number continually in other every day interactions. These are signs that cannot be ignored!!!

  4. I suspect its just my lack of knowledge in these matters but I always took the line that you could only judge the worth of any signing at the end of their first season. So I'm wondering how it is so many others seem to have the skill to assess prospective signings before they've even kicked a ball. How do you do it?

  5. I'd still want a 'marquee' #10. Alongside a couple of CBs, a LB, and a forward -- doesn't have to be a marquee striker, with Morelos and Defoe around, but just another option up front would be good; that would change if we lose Morelos.

  6. Stewart is an attacking midfielder, he won’t be playing in the striker’s position.

  7. ... and before people go link-hunting ... Pre-season is almost upon us as things begin to take shape on and off the park at Rangers https://fourladshadadream.blog/2019/06/11/pre-season-is-almost-upon-us-as-things-begin-to-take-shape-on-and-off-the-park-at-rangers/

  9. Yes, I really thought we'd get one. A Ronald de Boer type player who can play both CAM and CM. Assuming we are playing the 4-3-2-1 it is far more important than a winger. I suspect Gerrard doesn't want to freeze out Murphy and Stewart before they've had a chance make the position their own. Arfield has cemented his place and it's a matter of who plays beside him. Ojo will be a strong contender too despite it not being his natural position. I still wonder if we will be asking 7/8 out of 10 players to unlock a stubborn Aberdeen defence when a few million might have got us the 9 out of 10 player we need to win the league.

  10. I suspect the club have a little bit more imagination. I doubt they are looking for a player. How much do you think the club invests in this venture?

  11. The fact that we have tried in more countries and failed. Australia springs to mind. Ajax have these schools as well but I have never heard it has delivered one player to them. For me success would be if it delivered a first team player but there is nothing to say it will. On the contrary most experience is that it costs a fortune for no return.

  13. Peterborough United have had a bid accepted by Oldham Athletic for Rangers target George Edmundson, Football Insider can reveal. The English League One club have been Rangers’ closest rivals for the defender’s signature and a source close to the situation has told Football Insider they have agreed a price of £600,000 plus add-ons following talks. Edmundson, 21, handed in transfer request at Oldham last month after they rejected two bids, worth up to £500,000 plus add-ons, from Rangers for his services. The player has made it clear he wants to sign for the Glasgow giants and this has given the club hope they can see off interest in him from teams south of the border. However, the Posh bid threatens to scupper Rangers’ hopes of signing a player who is one of their key summer targets in what represents a major blow. Manager Steven Gerrard is in the market for two new centre-backs this window after the end of Joe Worrall’s loan from Nottingham Forest and Gareth McAuley’s contract expiration later this month. Edmundson is in demand after an impressive season for Oldham that ended with him scooping the club’s Player of the Year award and being named in the EFL League Two Team of the Year. Rangers remain interested in signing Edmundson, although the pressure is on them to match or exceed Peterborough’s offer. https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-rangers-blow-as-english-club-have-player-bid-accepted-after-multiple-ibrox-offers/

  14. I agree the SNP will never allow a full and proper investigation and will protect Celtic at all costs. However, if it's not the SNP selling their souls for the Irish/catholic vote, it will be Labour doing the same thing. Scotland is basically run by and for a noxious minority

  15. I don't have any confidence that a Labour government would be any more active on the subject.
