  3. BBC Scotland's website carried a report on this womens old firm match on Sunday evening. They informed us that the Celtic Coach, Eddie Wolecki Black asked the Green Brigade to attend the East Kilbride ground. BBC Scotland further informed, "they brought considerable colour and noise" to the match. The sectarian and misogynistic abuse involving the Green Brigade is being prominently reported in the Daily Record, the Scottish Sun, the Herald, and Evening Times. BBC Scotland are so far failing to mention the story. Still, that's consistent because they failed to carry any mention of the Green Brigade's, 'Fe-nian Army' banner on Sunday.

  4. Thing is there's similar footage floating about of Rangers fans doing the exact same at Pittodrie. I wish people would realise there is no moral high ground on this issue it affects all wheelchair fans irrespective of what colour scarf they wear.

  5. He's the manager of Rangers, that means constant scrutiny and analysis followed by over the top levels of criticism or praise. Thats the gig, that's always been the gig. Gerrard's reaction to the Kilmarnock goal didn't concern me, that's been his reaction to most goals we've conceded. He's a much more thoughtful character than I thought. I'd assumed (wrongly) he was a heart-on-the-sleeve bubbly Scouser, but he's not, he's far more composed and steady. That doesn't mean he's not passionate, he just shows it differently. One concern I have with Gerrard is how he manages people who don't work as hard as he did. Gerrard was a perfectionist as a player, he was the boss in the Liverpool dressing room, and someone who decided if you made it or didn't make it at Liverpool. He'd very high standards and not everyone was able to meet them. I read the Lafferty article this morning and wondered why Gerrard was unable to manage him correctly. Now, let me be clear, I think Lafferty is a clown, he's a brainless waste of talent and someone who constantly displays poor judgement. But he can play football, and when managed correctly can be a highly effective member of a team. Micheal O'Neill has shown that, Craig Levein has shown that, Walter Smith showed that. We knew what we were getting with Lafferty when we signed him. There are still people at the club who remember him first time around, someone must have pointed out that he's not a good trainer, he'll have some sort of domestic implosion during the season and he'll skive off every chance he gets. But, he could win you a match when you need it. My concern for Gerrard isn't that he doesn't display enough emotion on the touchline, it's that he can't relate to journeymen SPFL footballers standard. That he doesn't understand how to motivate and manage a Lafferty, a Grezda or a Barasic. Gerrard, I believe, has very high standards, he expects high intensity training, 100% focus, total concentration. I expect most supporters are agree and think 'about bloody time too'. However, he's not coaching elite EFL, Champion's League quality players. Sometimes, at our level, you need to be able to do something with the shirkers, the lazy and the troubled too. For the record, Gerrard has shown himself to be a much better manager than I thought he'd be, and I remain confident for the season ahead. But if we're doing assessing, that's my observation.

  6. Frankie, I am aware of the situation. I believe Chris McLaughlin was aware of the situation too, before heading down to Kilmarnock to record a clearly spiteful interview. We know PQ will pick up any stick to beat Rangers and Rangers supporters, to exploit a domestic situation to get a firm grip on that stick ............................. ? As a Director of Killie, Phyllis McLeish deliberately waved bye bye to revenues of just under £300,000 by denying the Moffat Stand to Rangers supporters. They were applauded and encouraged to repackage, 'Sell Out Saturday' by PQ. Again, it has failed. I hope Rangers refuse to take extra tickets when Killie come back(and they will) after they look at their bottom line. They can pass the bucket at PQ to help Killie. We know by that time, PQ will have moved on to the next stick.

  8. Arsenal you say. I see Grezda is starting. Planning a swoop for the next big thing are they. Well the country should know that the player has never asked for a move. He is living the dream for a marvellous club and has loved every millisecond of it. And whatever Arsenal’s opening bid is they will have to quadruple it for the club to even consider it. And even then he should really be holding out for Man City.

  9. Most modern smart TV's you can just mirror it from your phone to your telly without a cast A cast is a sort cable with a round dongle(I think they call it). I paid 39 euro's for it. The one I have is from google and you need to download google home from the play store, I personally prefer just to switch the HDMI plug from my desktop monitor to the TV or I just watch it on my monitor.

  11. Do you really think that Barisic can improve because so far there has been evidence of that to date. When he receives the ball, if there is a defender in front of him his standard reaction is to pass inside to Niko or one of the midfielders. You very rarely see him taking a defender on or cutting inside. It may be just lack of confidence preventing the former but I have my doubts that this is the case. I feel he is very one footed and is probably weak on the right hand side and that partly explains why he is reluctant to cut inside. If we are to get the best out of Barisic offensively then he needs to receive the ball when he is ahead of the last defender and can cross the ball in; so far this has not happened. He does make runs down the wing that takes defenders away from the Rangers player who is wide and this at least helps create more space but is that enough to justify being our first choice at left back. Lastly, defensively he has been caught wanting on a few occasions and seems reluctant to physically dominate the opposing winger.

  13. Possibly not. AEK were poor but difficult to break down. But that was a balls up from them as you say and you can't count on those every year. And Lennon actually had a better record in Europe, he got to the last 16. Rodgers flopped in Europe. As much as we want to concentrate on ourselves if they qualify for the groups it's a huge blow.

  16. My thoughts exactly. It's impossible to judge Lowe from displays against us but he's not exactly that dissimilar to Barisic, prefers to play as a winger and not the strongest defensively. In terms of Barisic, I like the idea of him more than what is often the reality. He's fast and wants to get to the byline and is an excellent crosser but my word he looks nervous on the ball. Always played the boring, safe pass backwards at Killie and most of pre-season. Starting to worry me now because I was optimistic on him and expected to see a rejuvenated player after pre-season. The raw ingredients of a good player seem to be there but time is running out for him to find some confidence.

  17. I noted one particular point from his statement ... "my performances in training and in games are night and day". This suggests that (like many other lazy players) he knew his training performances were lazy or poor, but expected the manager to play him on the promise that he'd do better in games. I've never liked Lafferty and I'm so glad he's gone, along with that poor attitude of his.

  22. Club 1872 Statement on Kilmarnock FC Safety Issues Dear Member, Club 1872 has received multiple eye witness reports from supporters trapped outside Rugby Park prior to, and following, kickoff in yesterday’s Kilmarnock vs Rangers game. These reports describe crushing, supporters fainting and actions from both stewards and police that made the situation worse. We note the comments of Kilmarnock director, Phyllis McLeish who has claimed that the unsafe situation outside the ground was the result of searches and fans’ impatience. Ms McLeish’s comments are simply not true and appear to be a deliberate attempt to shift the blame for the breakdown of Kilmarnock's new ticketing system. We have reports of fans waiting up to 45 mins to enter the ground. The delays were a direct result of this new ticketing system, which failed and put Rangers supporters in danger. We are aware of a video which appears to show Rangers supporters opening an access gate in response to pleas from supporters further back in the crowd. This has been characterised negatively by various media outlets including the Daily Record and BBC Scotland journalists. Having watched and listened to the video in question, there is genuine concern from distressed supporters that there is a dangerous situation building up in the crowd and that this gate should be opened to relieve pressure. This concern matches the eye witness accounts, from those further back in the crowd, which we have described above. The situation would never have arisen if the ticketing entry system at Rugby Park had been working properly. As usual, there has been a rush from certain elements of the press to blame Rangers supporters for this incident. We would remind them, Ms McLeish and others that it is the responsibility of Kilmarnock FC and their directors to ensure that visiting supporters are safe. It is quite clear that the ticketing entry arrangements were not fit for purpose and that this created an unnecessary situation at the turnstiles which placed Rangers supporters in danger. We will be submitting the reports we have received to Rangers and urging them to ensure that Kilmarnock FC and their directors make proper arrangements in future and that they are held to account for the shambolic and unsafe situation prior to kickoff. It was Kilmarnock FC's responsibility to make suitable safety and ticketing arrangements - it is absolutely clear they did not. We will liaise with Rangers on this and on events inside the ground and work with them to ensure that Kilmarnock properly address these safety issues ahead of any future visits to Rugby Park. Issued by Supporters Voice Limited, a Club 1872 company Club 1872 Just a pity the clowns in our support give Kilmarnock and media something to deflect attention on.

  24. This might be something that's been tried in the past but would it be possible to run a MOTM poll for (say) 24 hours after every game. It would be interesting to see which players consistently emerge as top performers over the course of a season.

  26. I think it would be an epic result beating the Danes. They will be better than any team in Scotland bar us and celtc by miles. Not at all sure we will go through. Tannochside is right about celtc and the CL as well. While I think our best shot at the league is us out of europe and them in the CL the financial Disparity would cripple us.

  29. I expected better results from Legia tbh. This is a very good draw compared to other possibilities. Unfortunately Celtic avoided Young Boys and will be strong favourites to see if Slavia Prague and bag another huge cash windfall. The task of overtaking them gets harder every time they make the groups so here’s hoping for a another screw up from them.

  33. "it has to be said". Above is the phrase Jonathon Sutherland uses on Sportscene as a preamble to accusations against Rangers supporters. Yesterday's match at Kilmarnock has been BBC Scotland's main news item today, even surpassing claims by a Trade Unionist that the new Edinburgh Sick Kids hospital might be partly torn down, before opening. I have no doubt the BBC Scotland newsroom will blame Rangers supporters for problems in the £150 million hospital's ventilation and drainage as soon as a Sub-Editor can write, 'shoddy H-u-n workers attempt to asphyxiate and drown sick kids'? The lunch time bulletin reported Police Scotland have made four arrests. The Justice System has set it's wheels in motion and that's how it should be. I hope the wheelchair bound supporters inside the destroyed shelter have given the necessary statements. Sub Judice prevents me from saying more at this time. Last week, in all pre-season discussions the PQ Gang Hut to a man chorused, 'all the pressure is on Rangers'. Trial by Sportscene served up a spoonful or two of pressure, then the newsroom sent a camera crew and interviewer to the wilds of Ayrshire to deliver pressure and two veg'. The turnip for the books was Killie's Chief Executive, Phyllis McLeish. A clearly anxious Phyllis was dry swallowing as she looked down the camera, it appeared Auntie Beeb was running interference on her Prosecco time? However, Phyllis delivered, she blamed Rangers players for crowd disruption, "they were all running towards the Rangers support", after notching a ninetieth minute winner. Further, none of this was Killie's fault, "Kilmarnock FC cannot be blamed". BBC Scotland did not inform the viewers whether they had approached Rangers? Well, I don't know. Are Rangers players allowed to celebrate last minute winners? We know that Rangers players are not allowed to celebrate mid second half winners, Andy Halliday was red carded for pumping his fist in the middle of the Cappielow centre circle. You see, if Rangers players are allowed to celebrate last minute clinchers, then the BBC manufactured pressure cooker must be removed from the hob. At the end of May, Killie defeated Rangers with a 93rd minute penalty. Brophy slotted it home and wheeled away to the corner of the Main and Moffat Stands, where the Killie fans were wildly celebrating. February this year, Scott Brown scored a 90th minute winner at Rugby Park in front of ra Sellik supporters in the Chadwick. He jumped the hordings and embraced several of the dozens of pitch invading Bhoys. Trial by Sportscene cleared these actions, emotional game, adrenaline fueled, ..... etc. It has to be said - Killie defeated Rangers in the first game after the winter break. The Chief Executive, Phyllis McLeish celebrated inappropriately. The wife of Alan, owner of Killie's main sponsor, the QTS group; was stopped by the police and breathalysed. She was twice the legal limit. The pressure is on BBC Scotland to explain their grim determination to elevate a sports item to top of their news agenda. Particularly, when similar last minute winners that have inspired pitch invasions have not made it on to general news, let alone top item. It has to be said.

  34. The roof was constructed purely to provide shelter from the elements for the wheelchair users below a purpose it has served well and one I have been thankful for on many occasions, it was not constructed as a dance floor nor as a platform to bounce up and down on. No idiots on the roof and the roof doesn't collapse simples.

  35. I think in fairness to Gerrard, and he has spoken about this in press conferences so far, he is looking at the whole squad and the workload that is required potentially between now and whole season - particularly if we manage to get to the Europa League group stages. And therefore during pre-season, its been a balancing act between giving each player sufficient game time to make sure they are ready as and when called upon. We would all like to start with a seven goal scudding of some jobbers from Perth, and there is no doubt there is still a lot to be worked on, but we managed to grind out a result in a fashion we rarely managed last season at crucial times. That doesn't mean there are not concerns. I too felt we should have changed things earlier. Jones came on and caused problems - and was also more effective defensively. Ojo's final ball and decision making was poor - something we saw on Thursday too, and we are creating lots of chances but not taking enough of them. Lots for the manager to think on, but even at this early stage of the season I can see things that have improved from last year.

  36. Come on, Bill - a handful of assists and a couple of goals, over the course of a season, is easily worth £5m. I assume those wanting us to splash the cash on Kent only watch derby matches.

  37. i think we need to put aside our hatred for Hibs and see this as a great opportunity for Middleton to get some game time in a league that he needs to crack if he’s to have a future with us. Hekingbottom seems to be a good coach and Hibs have an attractive playing style unlike other teams like Killie. If he can push on with them this may be the best option, and he wouldn’t play against us. Could be a win/win.

  38. Given an improved Co-eff place in the table, Scotland's Cup winners will go in at EL QR2 in 2020/21. Access points depend on national co-eff place, not the individual club numbers. Access List for this season (includes Scotland's co-eff 26th place) https://kassiesa.home.xs4all.nl/bert/uefa/AccessList2019.html Our improved position at the end of season 2018/19 is now 20th and this will be used to deteremine access points for 20/21. https://kassiesa.home.xs4all.nl/bert/uefa/data/method5/crank2019.html
