  1. How many games in Europe is that , and yet to be behind for a single second of any game , now that’s impressive

  2. I think time and time again admin have asked users to respect each other's views and instead of that get people preferring to goad each other under the guise of not very funny 'humour'. That's why your comments weren't necessary and that's why they've spoiled what should have been a very positive thread. Now, for the last time I'm going to ask people to consider the way they post on this forum when it comes to the ongoing political crap. It really is tiresome to log in to continuous trolling (on both sides) and if the standard of debate doesn't improve then some users will have their posting rights removed. I'd much prefer not to use such censorship on important subjects but if you act like children, then you'll be sent to the naughty step. Now back on topic with this thread please.

  3. RANGERS have become the first British club to receive a top award from the Ministry of Defence. The Ibrox club are among five employers from the south of Scotland who will receive an Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Gold Award for their support for the armed forces. Gers signed the 'Armed Forces Covenant' in October 2016 and have regularly welcomed guests to Ibrox as part of the Tickets for Troops initiatives. Rangers Charity Foundation will also receive the award for their support for a number of service charities working with existing and ex-forces personnel including Erskine, Poppyscotland, SSAFA and Combat Stress. Speaking on the honour, Gers director Stewart Robertson said: “Achieving the Gold Award is a wonderful recognition for both the Club and Foundation and I would like to pay tribute to everyone within Rangers, as well as our supporters, who have contributed to this important work over many years. “We are committed to doing whatever we can to support those who serve and promote an armed forces-friendly environment. I know that this special accolade will inspire us to advocate on behalf of the MOD’s Employers’ Recognition Scheme further. “Congratulations to all the organisations receiving an award in 2019.” Boss Steven Gerrard added: “This is proud moment for everyone at the Club and Foundation, who I know work hard to support serving Armed Forces personnel and veterans each season. “I hope that the fans will join us all in celebrating this special award – it’s well deserved.” Colin Vooght, head of engagement at Lowland Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ Association (RFCA), said: “This is the first time a football club has attained a Gold Award and we congratulate Rangers in this fantastic achievement. “We have worked closely with Rangers over the last few years and have been impressed by the way they have translated their commitment into activity, with a range of initiatives to support service men and women. “I would also like to congratulate the wide variety of different organisations who received a Gold Award this year. This proves companies and institutions of all sizes and sectors can play their part in supporting the armed forces community in Scotland. “I am delighted that these employers have been recognised with the Ministry of Defence’s highest award and look forward to continuing to work alongside each of the award winners in the future.” https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/football/4632915/rangers-first-football-club-ministry-of-defence-award/?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1566459813

  4. This band was less dangerous than the Danes, but had their moments. I'm really annoyed that we did not remove Ojo after about 60 mins for Jones, as the former was contributing next to nothing. Jones would at least helped Flanagan on that flank. 0-0 is a naughty score, hope it doesn't bite us in the back ...

  5. Morelos did little wrong and his reaction to the booking was exemplary. Nothing to worry about.

  6. If the move doesn't come off you can always add Tash before Kent and move to Uzbekistan. ?

  7. I think it’ll be Morelos tonight and Defoe on Sunday.

  8. We can't let a £7m transfer fee or Liverpool's unwillingness to loan him out again stand in the way of young love.

  9. So impressed by his attitude tonight ( and this season so far) . He seems to have turned the corner.

  10. Some fans need to remember how far we have come , this was a very comfortable and very assured performance away in a very hostile atmosphere , yet we never looked under any serious pressure . our interplay moving the ball out of danger and around in midfield was immense , Aribo has walked into that midfield as if he has been playing with Davis and Jack ( who were both immense ) for years . lets see how they deal with an intimidating atmosphere at our place .

  11. A good result against a very decent, well drilled side. For whatever reason, some of our fans thought we'd win tonight comfortably. I'd rather be in our position than theirs.

  12. A very mature performance and 0-0 isn't a bad result at all. I seen enough from us to suggest a higher press at home will cause Legia problems and it will be a rather different game at Ibrox I'd suspect.

  13. No it wasn’t. Foul was given and and Legia tried to take it quickly and he stuck his leg out to block it from less than 10 yards away. I actually thought they were baiting him and trying to get him booked.

  14. I think we should show off this valued award at our next domestic home game at half time, to a rousing soundtrack of Rule Britannia and the National Anthem. Cant remember who we play though.....

  15. While factually wrong, as McLaughlin only had his media privileges removed - and for valid reasons, how does that restrict the whole BBC`s ability to report from Ibrox or Auchenhowie? Not least when said journalist is - AFAIK - no longer the relevant football reporter? Send that to Ofcom.

  16. We don’t need him imo so not that fussed. Jones has been on fire and is similar to Kent. If he comes fair enough but I would prefer a top class left back tbh.

  17. I always feel 0 0 away is a poor result and 0 0 at home surprisingly good. I'm not overly optimistic.

  18. I was busy in the garden until 20 minutes before the kick off and wasn't near twitter. I expect to be able to login to RTV anytime before the game and not have to search twitter for a link.

  19. I didn't realise that since I'm already signed up but its a fair point.

  20. And I believe all bookings get wiped after the next game.

  21. I had no idea what to expect with Legia Warsaw but there's no doubt they're a strong team. I had hoped for a win beforehand, but having seen them I think that was a really good result away from home. I still fancy us to go through but it'll be tough. For me Jack was the standout player. Davis and McGregor obviously did well too, but Jack seems to make us tick. I think Aribo is worth a mention to though. He just seems to be able to find space to manouvre in even the tightest of situations. His skill is superb and he joins Ojo, Morelos, Defoe and Arfield in the list of players that must terrify our opponents.

  22. It is not easy to come on as a sub in any game, especially in a high tempo European match. For what it's worth I think SG is a far better manager than anyone on here!.

  23. Nonsense! he never put a foot wrong!. I wasn't worried about anything or players tonight. Legia are a good side but we can up the game and if we do we will beat them at home. No complaints about any of our players tonight.

  24. That last 25 minutes was painful to watch. It was plain as day we needed fresh legs. What does the gaffer have against make a substitution? Ojo was poor and looked knackered, Jones should have come on for him on the 70th minute at least. Defoe and Kamara should have been on much sooner too. Anyway it’s a decent result and we should take care of them at Ibrox but an away goal was there for us tonight I felt.

  25. There are only three things certain in life: death, taxes, and @der Berliner trying to shoehorn our 4-3-2-1 into a 4-2-3-1.

  26. I hope Kamara plays well (if played). I really like him but he has been rather casual at times this season and I fear from the grumbles I've heard he could be quickly promoted as an easy whipping boy for some fans

  28. You've certainly convinced me. I've just ordered the new top with Kent on the back and stuck up a Ryan Kent poster in my living room.

  29. They seemed a decent bunch when they were up here last year. We all know what it’s like to be in that position, hopefully they come through this? Perhaps the club could organise a friendly to help with initial funds if they come through this mess?

  30. Nah, it was discussed by the media because he'd spent enough time here and hadn't been capped by Spain, but he was never called up. Funnily enough I'm more relaxed about residency rules coming in than the grandparent rule. If someone came to Scotland as an 18 year old and made their life here I'm comfortable with them becoming 'Scottish' in every sense. We're just as bad as the Irish now when it comes to capping players. We actively scout English youth sides looking for any links. There's a lad at Watford of whom great things are expected, with one Scottish Granny, he's now in the 'Scottish international system' despite never having set foot here and both his parents being English. There's a boy at Feyonord too, who we've similarly 'scouted'.

  33. It was a silly booking but not the end of the world. The wee man perhaps should have scored when put through by Arfield but credit to their 'keeper. Other than that he was living off the usual scraps but he worked very hard and played well.

  35. Interesting that Davis and Ojo come in for Kamara and Jones. Possibly an indication that we expect them to sit in more than Midtjylland. In any case it makes little difference to the strength of the side.

  36. One of the Polish journalists was a bit cheeky, asking Gerrard if Morelos needs psychological help. Stevie of course simply ignored that. And I expect the Pole picked that up from the Scottish media.

  39. Interestingly enough, when you look up Chris McLaughlin`s twitterings, you`ll find all sorts of re-tweets of Celtic signings and going-ons. Hardly anything Rangers (or anything else Scottish footballerish), unless it is controversial ... e.g. " BBC News - Football fans' safety 'still at risk' inside stadiums " (with Bluenoses in the background?), collapsed roof at Kilmarnock, or Rangers could face a million pound pay out to Ashley et al ... yes, he sure still is an unbiased specimen of BBC Scotland and it football branch. Some gall to dig in behind him and play the victim card ... ooops. For reference: https://twitter.com/bbcchrismclaug

  40. I agree our games should be at Auchenhowie, what was the point of all the upgrades if we don’t use it? Always loved that old trophy, puts modern ones like the SPFL trophy to shame.

  41. Mood Music. Last week brought hard times to the members of the PQ Gang Hut. Their green'n'grey hooped favourites had crashed out of the Champions League. Their second favourites were being thrashed 4-zip on aggregate at Pittodrie. Both games were covered live. The downcast Blarney Duo of Tom English and Pat Bonner were bereft at the immediate future's lack of travel opportunities. Big Dick and Wullie Miller reported the Dandies were two down and one man down at half time, they both wanted the Ref' to blow the full time whistle. This was after telling the audience that Derek was desperate to make the qualifying round of the Europa Cup, on his sixth attempt. On both nights, Sportsound finished at 22.15hrs. Rangers won 7-3 on aggregate, and the 3-1 victory at Ibrox was deemed worthy of a couple of ninety second reports. John Barnes sat in a PQ room watching Rangers RV coverage, we were told he was right across events at Ibrox. The Scottish co-efficient was not mentioned on either night's coverage. Big Dick speculated on Rangers growing confidence and Wullie Miller went into a well rehearsed speech about budgets. Rangers should be progressing, if they don't questions should be asked? If Rangers fail to match ra Sellik's results in the league, questions must be asked? Steven Gerrard is here to stop ten-in-a-row, if he fails, questions will be asked? At one point, Big Dick wondered aloud, "seven goals against Danish opposition, is that a good result"? I don't know why he threw that out there either. By Friday afternoon, PQ decided some context was required, step forward Connie McLaughlin. The Connie Context was that Midtylland were fourth in the Danish table whereas both ra Sellik and Aberdeen had faced the Romanian champions and Croatia's second best team. I know Gersnetters will be surprised that the Connie Context was a lie? Midtylland are second in the table on goal difference, having won their first five domestic matched. It would appear Connie is as lazy as her brother, Chris? The fall out over the weekend was continuous praise for Rangers and Gerrard. It sounded all wrong. I suspect the PQ high heid-yins have had enough of grudgingly issuing several apologies to Rangers and Rangers supporters every season. The mood music situation is Rangers have played 9 competitive games, won eight, and drawn one. Praise is deserved, deliver it. However, as Wullie Miller has said, if Rangers or Rangers supporters fcuk up, then questions will be hard and fast. Uniquely, we will be a prisoner of our budget. The PQ Gang Hut know our next four games will go a long way in dictating the nature of Rangers season. Tom Boyd has started ra Sellik line on vicTIMhood, PQ will amplify without sharing detail. John Beaton's awarding ten penalties to ra Sellik whilst awarding less than half that number to 90% of clubs in the same league(including Rangers four penalties), will not be broadcast. The Green Brigade can unfurl whatever banner they wish, it will not be highlighted, it will not be discussed. They can sing the IRA Karaoke throughout, it will not be highlighted, it will not be discussed. However, any sectarian chanting at Love Street, Warsaw, or at Ibrox during the old firm match, then the national megaphone will be turned up to eleven, and both Michael Stewart and Tom English will be battling for control of the mouth piece. Mood music, it's all a matter of context.
