  2. 'from the first whistle to the last' ? Lat's go back to last Sunday. The two top teams in Scotland are battling for top spot, the Gang Hut favourites are away at Livingston, the follow followers of Beelzebub are at home to Acas. An emotional roller coaster is perched upon the highest peak, poised to sweep onward. The first whistle blew at 11.30 hrs, Sportsound began with Sellik team news. The last whistle blew at 15.00 hrs, just as Rangers were kicking-off. Sportsound had ended, Geoff Webster took over to talk rugby, golf, athletics, .... etc. Of course, Rob McLean was sat on the naughty step watching RTV and provided a couple of thirty second reports at half-time and full-time. It had been drastic on plastic, Sellik were reduced to ten men after half-an-hour, Ryan Christie red carded for a straight leg, flat footed lunge. The immediate reaction was, "that was uncharacteristic of Ryan". At half-time, Big Dick offered, "I'm struggling to think of a red card during his eighteen months with Aberdeen"? Liam McLeod whispered, "sent off at Ibrox". By the last whistle at three O'Clock, we found out Ryan has been red carded on four occasions, but it remains, "uncharacteristic". Four red cards is the same as Morelos, no one in the gang hut even began to square that circle. What was uncharacteristic, was the Gang Hut's favoured team conceding two goals, without reply. James McFadden thought the game was perfect for Leigh Griffiths. An uncharacteristic silence ensued. The accepted PQ euphemism on Griffiths these days is, "he's injured"! It would appear PQ's claim of, 'from the first whistle to the last' is really, 'from the first DOG whistle to the last'. I wonder if the denizens of the Gang Hut can hear the drums from Ibrox as we celebrate the Seven Princes from Hell? I suspect they do, because the first Sports Desk of Monday morning was NOT about change at the top. No, it was headlined by Hearts will have four players, Naismith, Soutar, Harring, and Walker, all back from injury to face Rangers at Tynecastle. Two weeks to go, but that was us telt! Monday night's Sportsound proclaimed Rangers had gone top of the Premiership for the first time, quickly rectified by Neil McCann; reminding them of Rangers occupying first during last season's winter break. There was a race to further inform, Rangers had lost the first match after the break at Rugby Park and Sellik's victory had put them back on top. Ah mean, Peter can only do so much. The narrative will be back under firm control when Tom English returns from the Rugby world cup, and Chris was at the end of a fortnight in Dofa for the Athletics world championships. Peter did ensure that Referee, Kevin Clancy did not officiate at any Scottish game last week. Kevin failed to award Sellik two penalties against Hibs at Easter Road; at least the Gang Hut knew NOT to mention that, or discuss it. Remember, from the first whistle until the last.

  3. To simplify this - king done what he had too to stop the Spivs really ruining the club As a result he knew the consequences but took them anyone at a cost of £1m for love of the club The sanction means nothing to Rangers or King as he will have no interest in doing anything in GB anytime soon - hence why he won’t appeal A complete non event by cretins like Sommers to try & hurt King King & the board have done things wrong but without them the results are potentially catastrophic - today only reinforces our luck he is here onwards for Rangers

  4. The £6 million in 1988 went to Marlborough and not Rangers. King didn't "loan" us money, he invested it in us. Murray invested in Rangers twice through his company in the same way as many other wealthy people did, including King and Lewis. Murray did bring over £160m into the club. I didn't say it was all his own cash, but he did the deals to get it in.

  5. Nations league is so complicated it must have been cobbled together by five pissed blokes in separate pubs whose ramblings were just added together and launched.

  6. Regardless of how bad Scotland are, i believe it is still possible to qualify via the nations league thing,..thing is, i've read up on it , and i'm still in the dark as to how it works. I do some fairly complex tasks in my day to day job as a rocket scientist, but unfortunately i'm unable to grasp even the basics of the nations league.

  9. Don't get too confident about this magnificent list of achievements. I'm asking the Labour party to legislate so that I can decide where your car can go. While I'm at it I'll also have them pass another law to paint your living room walls green.

  10. Funnily enough I’ve achieved everything in life I ever set out to. Two daughters, a wife & a decent job. Own house & car. I earned every penny I ever spent. Never conned anybody or ripped them off either..

  11. I appreciate that King doesn't want to challenge this, but the ToP will now get away with mismanaging this case. I know this forum is about Rangers, but as someone who wants to be able to place reliance on the ToP for integrity in other cases I am left very annoyed and frustrated. And as a tax payer, this has been a complete waste of time, money and resources which could have been better redirected elsewhere. Back on topic though, it's good to draw a line under this but contrary to what too many commentators were opining, this was never going to cause the club problems. And for what it's worth, I don't know any fans now who think King is doing this for anything other than the "love of the club". There's no doubt he saved the club, and although we will understandably continue to scrutinise everything the board does, we will forever be grateful for what he's done.
