  1. Agree re. type of game but tend to think what actually happened was always on the cards whoever we played up front, ie. struggle to make clear cut chances against organised deep defence but over time we wear them down and eventually score. Having Morelos on the bench gave us an excellent option but IMO the goal itself was more about Jack and Aribo teeing up a relatively straightforward chance that you´d expect either AM or JD to tuck away. The game on Sunday is a very different proposition and Alfredo will start, hopefully after a re-charging of the batteries. Much of the focus will be on the Columbian but we´ll need all players to step-up. Ryan Kent being one who needs to lift his quality level and the defence maintain concentration.

  2. Hope it's not tomorrow ?. I've got a feeling that if Morelos scores one against them ,then the floodgates will open.

  3. It looks like complete and total overkill by the police. Are we living in the worlds most dangerous city? There are 800 fans going to a game of football. Are we saying that the only way this can be policed is in this fashion? Its an absolute disgrace, and no wonder fans are turning away from going to games when they are treated worse than cattle, told when they must arrive and when they must leave, they are not allowed to stand and chat outside, they are not allowed to travel from any other direction other than the one the police tell them to, and anything outside of these rules will see them not allowed into the ground in time to see the game. And of course fans are charged over 40% premium on ticket prices to be treated in this way!! I'm glad I gave up going to this fixture a decade ago when prices got to £40. Nothing beats going to your biggest rival's ground and beating them for atmosphere and pure adrenalin, but they sure are trying everything they can to take this away from the fans. best of luck to our 800 who decide to put up with all of the above to go and see the match, only a victory will come close to making it worthwhile.

  4. In the absence of what some may consider to be be a normal @Gaffer style prediction.? Celtic 0 - 5 Rangers FGS Morelos .

  5. Plus that journo isn't banned. He's quite entitled to enter Ibrox by paying like the rest of us.

  6. An era when Scotland produced world class players and most teams no matter where they were from fielded sides predominately or even entirely filled with nationals. Rangers fielded 11 Scots in the 1972 ECWC final while Dynamo fielded 11 Soviets. In that seasons European cup final between Ajax and Inter Ajax fielded 10 Dutch and 1 German while Inter fielded 10 Italians and 1 Brazilian. Fast forward to this years Champions league final contested by two English teams who fielded starting elevens which had just 6 Englishmen in the 22. Totenham had 4 while Liverpool had only 2.

  7. Now you can see why we’re nowhere near to getting VAR in Scotland. Much better to have a compliance officer who punishes the indiscretions of the yahoos opponents & overlooks the indiscretions of the yahoos themselves. She is, of course, a yahoo herself who’d be put out of a job if we got VAR. And btw wish we had someone like Aberdeen’s Dave Cormack who’s prepared to speak out. We’ve got a guy called Stewart Robertson as our MD

  9. Yes there's only two ways to play; fearful negative anti-football or all out expansive attack. ?

  10. Jeso. Apologies...I blame the holidays ?????

  11. That was when we had some world class footballers though. Things have changed. You can't expect clubs with small budgets to try to play open, expansive football against clubs with much, much bigger budgets. We'd be winning 7-0 most weeks and would be similarly humped in the CL (whenever we make it back there).

  12. I'd argue that it was Alfie's threat and movement that allowed Jack and Aribo the opportunity to set him up.

  13. Kent and Aribo could be key to Alfies success tomorrow IMO

  14. Correct. Technically the BBC have banned themselves in a display of faux moral outrage that was never consistently applied across the organisation when other BBC journalists were asked not to attend press events by the likes of Manchester United and other EPL clubs.

  15. As I've said previously, BBC Scotland are openly mocking Rangers supporters. It is tedious and predictable but there is a very simple and suitable response. The current British government don't seem entirely keen on the wider BBC, so now's as good a time as any to hit them where it hurts.

  16. We played well without Morelos on Friday and could've scored a couple of goals in the first 15 minutes today. We should be able to beat Kilmarnock with Jermaine Defoe up front, so I disagree about the risk aspect, particularly when we know Morelos can come on and have an impact.

  17. Not the best game of football we are ever going to watch but it's 3 pts and a clean sheet. Job done

  18. I would've taken that before the game. An important three points, playing well for large spells, against a team of thugs with no intention of playing football.
