I remember @Billand @bmckamongst others working hard on this and being particularly generous in securing the message. Amazing that ten years down the line, one battle has been won!5 points

Yeah-- Johnson's 27. It's about quality. Docherty and McCrorie are not good enough.3 points

I had a look at Preston’s forum. If Chip Barm says it’s done, it’s done.3 points

Thank you Frankie, I haven't seen those words since I wrote them. Can hardly believe ten years have passed but thankfully Brian has enjoyed each of them.2 points

Mmm... wonder why we let Docherty go then; and if it is about numbers, letting Ross McCrorie go may turn out to be a mistake.2 points

Well I never. A medical professional breaking cover and offering an opinion freely. The most interesting comment she makes is about the NHS being closed but she offers no explanation who is responsible or why. She covers a wide range of angles on Covid19 but the only thing anyone can offer a reply about is wearing masks - since they don't like wearing masks they assert their greater knowledge and dismiss her out of hand because "they know". What a global mess of half truths, colossal ignorance, deliberate lies, pontificating pricks and political chicanery. Honestly, I've lost all belief in anything I read or hear about this issue. Everyone is a fucking expert, everyone "knows" what should have been done. Even arseholes have opinions and a legion of believers to sustain them. In the circumstances, the only decent thing to do is keep your own council and try not to be an arsehole.1 point

A poster on FF claiming he is friends with a Scottish player at Reading and we are "definitely interested" in John Swift. He seems well out of our budget to me. Even if he is, I hope it's true we have shown interest because that would be a much more ambitious signing than Johnson in my opinion.1 point

Unfortunately I have to agree with you about Docherty & McCrorie although I’d suggest Docherty’s Rangers opportunity came along too early for him.1 point

Aye that is bang on tbf, I just couldn’t be arsed getting moaned at if I wrote about signing stuff Turns out from Prestons statement it was bang on Still work to be done1 point

Even though I agree with you that is whataboutery of a high order, when the topic is Piers Morgan.?1 point

He's just about to turn 28 so he isn't about potential. It seems the clubs aren't agreed on a fee anyway.1 point

The youtube channell of the SPFL have highlights up rather quick, usually 5 to 8 mins, depending on the action. And without any commentators babbling along ... BTW, the tackle on Morelos in slow mo et al ... ... and it essentially boils down to the "agility" of an average Scottish centre-half and Morelos running into that - like it or not - clear clearance, Not even sure whether the defender could have stopped the movement, going by his body angle. Just saying ... and as SG rightly points out, you wonder what would have happened if the roles were reversed.1 point

Yeh it is a bit strange. I was hoping we’d be signing a player to go straight into the first team. Johnson is 28 in a few weeks and the fact he is still at Preston suggests he will be coming in to be a rotation player. We’ve signed a 28 year old from Preston before, a hero with their fans, and he was a Preston level player. Having said that, Johnson does seem to have some attributes that we could do with. From what I have read and seen, he is a player who is mainly about his passing and vision and creativity in general, he isn’t fast and isn’t one to be taking men on very much. He would play in our midfield 3 and not as one of the number 10s. If that description is correct I think be a really useful player to have for games where we are trying to break a team down, even if it is a hugely exciting signing.1 point

Strange-- I wasn't convinced after watching the above clip: he looked slight, and only scored penalties or scuffed shots. I've now watched more clips and I think he looks better. He still looks quite slight -- I wonder how he'd cope with our League's physicality -- but has a bit of pace about him, and he likes to get into the box and/or take shots from distance. Maybe not a creative player, but one that likes to get on the end of things. Not a bad option to have.1 point

I think Arsenal will be in the mix, perhaps competing with MU and CHEL for the final spots.1 point

GMB is not what I call a news programme more of a magazine show with titbits of news and people promoting their self1 point

Is that Piers Morgan's show ? If so, I am surprised anyone would go on it - it is nothing more than a Piers Morgan ego fest. He spends the entire time being an absolute bellend, shouting down the guests and not allowing them to speak at all. It is vacuous. The same Piers Morgan who lauded Boris Johnson being PM now chastises him every chance he gets. Piers Morgan trying to set the nation's moral compass given his more than chequered past is beyond hypocrisy1 point
