  1. After a few days and reading "quite a rant" by Stevie_4lads-blog regarding Tavernier and Goldson as well as the DM tactics ... and while we sure have every right to question what goes on ... ... we do lament on a rather high level. 2 away draws at difficult venues and 6 wins is by no means sub-standard. The 2 central midfielders were required to bolster our defensive setup, as Barasic and Tav ventured forward as they are "meant to be" (and did quite admirably in the last few games). Hibs were playing more open and attack-minded (credit to them, BTW, which is usually quickly overlooked) and in the end it boils down to our "attacking department" not producing where it mattered. If some individual errors cost you points or even game, one probably also has to look at what is normal, for if "errors" ain't happen or "class beats normality", games would see no goals conceded or scored. Hibs had a couple of decent efforts, we should have scored 3 or 4 more. At the end of the day, it remains a game and the above aside, chance and luck play their part too, sometimes clad in Specsavers' black. We have a tendency to single out certain players, Sunday it was Goldson, Tavernier and Kamara, sometimes with the feel that they need replaced by yesterday, no matter how well e.g. Kamara performed in his previous 2 games et al. A fickle bunch we are, aren't we?! As I pointed out on various occasions, we seem to are stubbornly resistant to change line-ups and tactics in accordance with the team we play or how games are working out, playing 4-2-3-1 against the brickwall- as well as the more open sides, usually with the same people. Imagine the "surprise" if we decide to play with two strikers! it may freak the living shyte out of opponents when reading that team selection ... but somehow, after watching us play "modern" football for the best part of 2 to 3 years, I harbour my doubts that it will yield us much joy for some time to come. We tinkered now with various players for that system, instead of trying what we have - no doubt enough quality for most if not all Premiership opponents - in a different way.

  2. A braindead rationale. I suppose we will be waiting until about May to play between 4 and 6 old firm matches. Alternatively we could just play the games when scheduled and all of the castrated bedwetters can fuck off back to Holyrood.

  3. If Rangers get a few players down with the virus then the game will definitely go ahead.

  4. I think we will murder both of them about ten nil. Which pot will we be in for the group stage?

  5. Spiers come on for the Podcast appeals to the Yahoo sensitivity, it’s the seduction of the Hag’. Entitled, ‘an Anatomy of Celtic’ - the history, the culture, the fans, the songs, Neil Lennon, Celtic and Ireland. Angela is quoted, “I spoke for an hour, I could have easily carried on talking for the week”. Of course, Angela speaks through a hole in her balaclava.

  8. I agree with you completely. I'd have not the slightest issue if there was anything about it that suggested free and personal choice. However, the fact that it is clearly orchestrated, almost ritualistic, and that every single player across the UK complies, is hardly reflecting the diversity of opinion you'd find here and anywhere else that people gather. I've often wondered who is driving this .... and why. One thing's for sure, it has nothing to do with football or black people's interests. Surely someone will put a stop to this demeaning madness before long.

  9. I remember @Billand @bmckamongst others working hard on this and being particularly generous in securing the message. Amazing that ten years down the line, one battle has been won!

  10. It's amazing how coincidences ...... well, coincide. Clearing out a cupboard in the office this morning, I came across three complimentary copies of the Copenhagen Post that they sent me after printing the Laudrup article. I noticed two particular sports articles in the same paper - one about Copenhagen Celtic FC, resplendent in green and white hoops, and another about the flourishing Danish rugby union scene. Who'd have thunk it?

  12. I don’t know how old you are RS, but perhaps you should watch (again?) a few games during the Walter Smith era. He was there at the side instructing, demanding, reminding...yet we had a team full of winners and captains, so your point doesn’t really stand up. And no I don’t subscribe to needing ‘hard men’ in midfield, not that it’s relevant to this point.

  13. Talking about being ready for the fray, steak and gravy pie by Fray Bentos is most apt. Lots of flaky pastry with very little steak and gravy. The just about sums up Spiers.

  15. Ra Bhoy in Corduroy is really pulling out all the stops to attract Rangers supporters to his new podcast, ‘Pressbox’. His first broadcast had Kevin McKenna, Jum Spence, and a Gordon Waddell as guests. The second promoted Michael Stewart as his exclusive guest. The third is boasting Angela Haggerty and Harry Brady (administers the Celtic Underground website). Next, as guests, it will be the guys sitting either side of him at ra Stade ra Gadd.

  16. Why not, is it a superstitious thing? There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a wee look at who your potential opponents are and what they are like. We all know Willem II, away from home, will be a big challenge and we've said so. I haven't seen a single complacent/dismissive comment.

  17. It's perhaps a bit harsh to criticise Helander considering his overall good performance. If anything, it was our other central defender who found it hard to repeat his early season form.

  18. Wherethefukawe? Last evening(Wednesday), was Champions League third round qualifiers’ night. PQ was broadcasting across the nation, the Blarney Bhoys(Pat and Tom) were in place, lips pressed to the microphones. Cue Big Dick’ sonorous voice swooning at the first bars of Britten’s rip-off of Handel’s Zadok the Priest, ‘the hairs on the back of my neck are standing’. A welcome to ra Stade de Gadd ensues and the Gang Hut stand, arms wrapped around each other, and deliver an emotional rendition of a song stolen from Liverpool FC, ‘you’ll never walk alone’. Big Dick hands over to Liam, and we are the recipients of more sh1te about a stadium built to purposefully house CL games. The Scottish standard is raised, ra Sellik are proudly carrying it onwards and upwards in Europe, improving the national coefficient. Homage is paid to Peter the Visionary, .........., etc. The reality was David Currie, hosting the Blarney Bhoys in Paisley for a re-arranged league fixture. Apparently, ra Sellikwere kno caked out of the CL on their own midden some weeks past, before the nights got dark? Don’t worry, it was the same push, Sellik won, were awarded only the one penalty, and no one took Neil on reference his weekend demand for Sellik fans to be allowed back into games because Kansas City had played in front of 18,000 the night before. Dreams can come true .....
