  1. Absolutely faultless display from every one of those players and they deserve immense credit given that late disappointment in Lisbon. A pleasure to watch this team in full flow. Unplayable at times. Just a pity we have another international break to interrupt us.

  2. Now let me start this and be very clear I am not comparing teams or squads , however , and it’s only an opinion , not since Dick Advocatts era , can I remember a time where I simply don’t know our best team , I can’t pay this squad a higher compliment , they are awesome , I lovevwatching this team play .

  3. Points on the board are better than games in hand. They SHOULD win their games in hand but so long as they HAVE to that is to our advantage. But, yes, I see it as being 3 clear, not 9

  4. Since the last international break we have played 7, won 6 drew 1, 6 clean sheets, 19 goals scored. Superb stuff. 7 home league games now, 7 wins, 7 clean sheets. Since the start of this season 20 games, 17 wins 3 draws 16 clean sheets 54 goals scored. Quite incredible

  5. I said it at half time. We are going to take some stopping this year. No Dubai in December to fuck it up either

  6. The format of the 78 world cup was very different to the current tournaments. There essentially were no knockout phases or semi finals as the teams went into another group of 4, with the 2 group winners heading to the final. In Argentinas group, they were required to beat a decent Peru side by 4 goals to overtake Brazil. The final score was 6-0 with some truly awful "defending" by the Peruvians. Peruvians officials have subseuntly stated that the match was indeed fixed.

  7. It would be a profound disappointment if Lennon lost his job at this stage.

  8. Northern Ireland footballer Kyle Lafferty is in mourning after the sudden death of his sister. The funeral of Sonia Lafferty, who lived at Glenbank Place in Belfast, will take place in her home village of Kesh in Co Fermanagh on Saturday. The 41-year-old passed away early on Thursday morning in a Belfast hospital having been in poor health for some time. https://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/northern-ireland/northern-ireland-footballer-kyle-lafferty-mourns-death-of-sister-sonia-aged-41-39716362.html

  9. Very sad it is hard on families, just recently my family mourned the loss of a daughter/niece(my brother's daughter)/Mother(to an 18year old)/cousin to many so my heart goes out to Laff and family.

  11. I feel like we're getting a bit carried away with the table. They've got two games in hand.

  12. Hamilton was not at the races (!), but much of that may have been due to the performance of our slick well oiled Euro-style machine. Balogun impressed me, as he has done before, by slotting in like he's always been there, and when Zungu came on, he just seemed to click into place, and pace, too. Three points, excellent performance, great lift to the goal difference, another clean sheet (yawn), and no injuries, so a good afternoon's work. about which we can have no complaints.

  13. Game has quietened in last 10 mins with the subs and just an easing off of the tempo, understandably perhaps. Looks like another game without a shot on target against us and positives all over the park

  15. This has been absolutely brilliant. What a way to get back into the action after the disappointing way we ended the match on Thursday.

  16. Stop the press!!! Aribo in poor first touch shocker! A clearance from Accies goes to Joe at the halfway line and it doesn’t just stick to his boot, but ricochets away for a throw in. Probably the first time I’ve ever seen him not control a ball first time with his first touch! Apart from that he has been sensational this half, looking back to his best again after his injury.

  17. Got to use the squad, good to see us freshen it up without bringing in Barker! Hopefully win this at a canter and can rotate more from the bench in the second half. Bheasts win again, so for all they have been rotten and heavily criticised they have still won 9 of 12 league games and only lost 1, so we have absolutely no room for slip ups.

  18. I'm a bit disappointed Hagi isn't playing. He's one of the few players we have who can play that killer pass and that's a useful skill in matches like this.

  19. I think it's important we rotate. The players cannot play twice a week for months without negative effects. We've got the squad; we must use it. I'd like to see Itten retain his league place, and rest Kent. Hagi will be useful, I think. I think Kamara will be rested - it's been Jack or Kamara in the league, not usually both.

  20. There's no way I'd be changing half the starting eleven for a game that's at least as important as Benfica although given the right circumstances I might be using the full compliment of subs earlier than is usual for Gerrard. McLaughlin Tavernier Goldson Helander Barisic Jack Zungu Kamara Kent Itten Morelos

  22. I think they will definitely have a new manager before Christmas we should be supporting a campaign to save the Lurgan one ?

  23. No point in repeating you, but i voted Tav for exactly the same reasons, the pass to Morelos had to be timed perfectly and it was. Outstanding captain’s performance and easily MOTM for me.

  25. Helps our cause if Lennon stays. But by all accounts there’s players who can’t stand him & want out. Usually that means the its the manager who pays the price
