  1. Very honest as usual from big Yogi, although he has dark side tendencies he is just a real football man who usually tries to get his teams to play good attractive football.

  2. Is it possible to send this to Clive Lindsay at BBC Scotland to let him read what actually happened at today’s game?

  3. David Martindale has had it hard, the disappointment of being a failed Rangers Youth player, led to a dalliance with organised crime. He was caught, charged, and convicted of possession and distribution of class A drugs. He did his time and emerged from prison to continue on his journey of rehabilitation. Well done David. Now, the condescending Michael Stewart has decided to weaponise him and his history. A convenient useful idiot to arrest Steven Gerrard's march to the Manager of the Year title. Ten games is enough for Mikey to hang on to, watch out David, he'll drag you under. We know Michael the Mouth does not like Rangers as a club because he tells us regularly. Mikey is singling out Martindale for collateral damage. Of course, this is nothing new. In season 1977-78, Jock Wallace managed Rangers to the Treble. The runners-up in the League was Aberdeen. The runners-up in both the Scottish Cup and the League Cup again, was Aberdeen. The Dandy Dons manager was Billy McNeill, he was awarded manager of the year. Oh, I hear you say, 'it's a one year, one off one season anomaly? However, in season 2002-03, Alex McLeish managed Rangers to another Treble. Martin O'Neill won nothing that season, but he was awarded manager of the year. Please David, make it clear you would rather refrain from drowning as the third time loser in the company of Billy McBungle and MON.

  4. Maybe not, but it's not therefore a "concern". Ideally, you want someone to play hundreds of games, but we then couldn't afford them. This is the opportunities of scouting. You have to look at their individual circumstances. Simpson's been part of a PL team for the last 5 years, with a very stable and successful back 4 (including a £40M player in Ake), so is he really expected to play more games? He's clearly been kept around and played a handful of games in the PL because they felt he had talent. This is the opportunity for us: getting a player, cheaply, who has the ability to play in the PL, but hasn't quite managed to, due to circumstances. Goldson was the same (around 30 games in 3 years at Championship level).

  7. He is odds on because slavering Tims got caught, again, in an Operation Tango and backed it to the hilt. A Bear did up a letter on Celtic letterhead which has them agreeing to Rafa's terms..... only problem being that the phone number on the letterhead not only wasnt Celtic's phone number but the last 4 digits were "1872"

  8. A great win with several fine individual displays. Jack was top class when he came on, Davis ran the show again, the centre halves were excellent, Barisic was a constant threat and and I thought Hagi worked his socks off. For me though, Ryan Kent was our best player. He was quiet for 10mins or so in the second half but, other than that, he was our biggest threat throughout the game, worked his socks off and linked well with most of our attacking players. Great to see the wee man in that kind of form.

  9. Many good workman like performances yesterday. Easy to vote for Davis or Hagi but i went for Alfredo who's link up play i thought was great.

  10. kent was simply the best. Hagi was also great as were most others.

  11. Difficult decision this week but voted Kent but Aribo, Davis or Hagi could easily have been chosen.

  12. Ryan Kent for me. Put in a monumental shift. His goal was really well taken and unlucky not to have a second. He caused them problems all afternoon spinning into channels behind. Listening to his interview post match, he was still panting heavily from a full 92 mins where he never let up!

  13. There is no chance of Rafa returning under Ashley regime. If the takeover in the summer had been approved, Rafa would have been appointed in place of Bruce. I live in NE England. He is the Messiah in these parts. It was hoped with proper targeted investment he would have improved them. Although, Bruce is a Geordie, he is not held in high regard and his brand of football is soulless. We are so fortunate to have rid ourselves of Ashley and SD. His shadow hangs heavily over Newcastle Utd, if you think we've had it bad spare a thought for Toon followers. No silverware since 1969!

  14. It won't be The Sheep if their loser of a managers ambitions are anything to go by. Instead of rallying his players, who sit just 4 points behind Celtic, to push for 2nd place, he's asked them to consolidate 3rd place. We really did dodge a bullet when he shat himself and turned down the opportunity to manage us.

  15. I wouldn't be happy if we did that. Leave that sort of thing to that lot. Apparently Benitez is odds on to replace Lennon.

  16. He's a likeable guy, I always enjoy listening to him but I cant say he is any good now. He has had too many clubs now and is mid level Premier at very best. You have a point about his players thought, Newcastle have been mediocre under many managers now.

  17. https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/sport/19032658.jack-simpson-rangers-eddie-howe-said-bournemouth-ace-huge-potential/ I think Bournemouth players are really well coached. They've been instilled with a good work-ethic, while also being exposed to the more technical side of the game. Howe always tried to play the game the right way.

  18. Jack’s back as Rangers put in five star performance. Ryan Jack made a scoring return to the Rangers first team today as the league leaders made another impressive statement on their title credentials with a 5-0 win over Ross County at Ibrox. The win takes Rangers 23 points clear with 13 games to play. Celtic still have three games in hand, but even the most optimistic of their supporters must now be approaching the point of accepting that the required winning run to claw back the difference is beyond Neil Lennon’s side. Steven Gerrard, taking charge of his 150th match as Rangers manager, named one change to the side which started last week at Fir Park with Filip Helander coming in for Leon Balogun. There was also a visible sign on the bench of the improving injury situation at Ibrox, where both Ryan Jack and Kemar Roofe were named. It is widely accepted that Rangers have not been the in the free-flowing, high-scoring form that they displayed earlier in the season, with Ross County the last side to taka a battering from Steven Gerrard’s side in the 4-0 defeat in Dingwall in December. Today would be an even more chastening experience for the Staggies and recently appointed boss John Hughes, who went into the game today on the back of an impressive 4-1 win over Aberdeen last weekend. However Rangers looked up from it from the start and scored after six minutes thanks to Ryan Kent. James Tavernier sent a cross into the box, Morelos nodded it back across the face of goal for Kent to loop his header over Ross Laidlaw to give Rangers the early lead they craved. A couple of minutes later James Tavernier hit a free-kick just over the bar, giving Rangers the look of a side which wanted to get their business done early. In the 12th minute it looked like Rangers would do exactly that when they were awarded a penalty after Morelos robbed Callum Morris to run in on goal, only to be fouled before he could get his shot away. James Tavernier stepped up, but his effort was saved by Laidlaw – Tavernier’s second successive miss from the spot. Rangers continued to dominate possession and it didn’t take too much longer for them to double their lead, thanks to Filip Helander after 27 minutes. Borna Barisic sent in another great corner, Helander lost his man and rose to bullet home from just outside the six yard box. Barisic was involved again shortly after when he hit a free-kick which Laidlaw needed two attempts to gather. Then came the moment of the match from Joe Aribo. The Nigerian cut inside the box, beat Charlie Lakin and Connor Randall before curling a fantastic strike into the top corner, leaving Laidlaw helpless and all but confirming the three points for Rangers. Ianis Hagi was having an impressive game and had a couple of opportunities towards the end of the first-half. Firstly he hit a shot from just outside the area which flew narrowly over the bar. Then he was played in by Ryan Kent, but took a touch too many which allowed Morris the time he needed to block the Romanian's effort. As the teams went up the tunnel for half-time you would have been forgiven for suggesting the second-half was an effort in futility, however Ross County provided a reminder that there was still plenty to play for when Harry Paton struck the post seconds after the restart. The near miss provoked a response from Rangers with Alfredo Morelos coming close after a great turn and shot, then Ryan Kent came close with another header. Ross County struck the woodwork again after a header from Alex Iacovitti looped over Allan McGregor and hit the bar. Morelos then had another effort from outside the box go just wide. Joe Aribo then came really close to adding another outrageous act to his superb first-half goal when he audaciously flicked on a Tavernier corner, forcing a save from Laidlaw. Steven Gerrard then made four substitutions, including Ryan Jack who came on with Bongani Zungu, Jermain Defoe and Cedric Itten, in place of Steven Davis, Glen Kamara, Joe Aribo and Alfredo Morelos. It didn't take Jack long to make an impact with a goal four minutes after being introduced to proceedings. Jack started the move, playing a ball to Cedric Itten who laid the ball out wide to Hagi. Hagi sent the ball across the face of goal for Jack to come in and hammer home the fourth. Jack came close to scoring again after Nathan Patterson, who had replaced James Tavernier, played a ball to him on the edge of the box. Jack’s right foot shot looked like it was goal-bound until Laidlaw got a hand to it to put it wide. The fifth came with ten minutes to go thanks to Connor Goldson. Barisic sent in yet another great corner for Goldson to send it past Laidlaw with a well-placed header, which dinked off the post on its way in. Steven Gerrard was delighted with performance saying: “There's no such thing as a perfect performance for a manager, you're always looking for little things to improve on. “But we asked the players for a 90 minute performance and they delivered that today. We looked dangerous from start to finish. “We played with real urgency. We did all the right things and in possession we played some lovely football.” RANGERS: McGregor, Tavernier, Goldson, Helander, Barisic, Kamara, Davis, Aribo. Kent, Hagi, Morelos. SUBS: McLaughlin, Bassey, Balogun, Defoe, Itten, Zungu, Patterson, Roofe, Jack. ROSS COUNTY: Laidlaw, Randall, Hjelde, Morris, Iacovitti, Naismith, Lakin, Paton, Draper, Vigurs, Shaw. SUBS: Gardyne, Mckay, Hylton, Watson, Charles-Cooke, Tillson, Donaldson, Andreu, Munro. REFEREE: Euan Anderson

  19. And we really got Kamara for nothing. The £50K was just so that we could get him a few months earlier.

  20. That was easy ? Puts more pressure on Steve Bruce. At any other club / chairman he would probably have gone. But with Rafa available again you never know if a return would be on the cards.

  21. Cruise control in that game. The early goal did wonders. This shows the difference between teams who dont sit in with a 5-5-0. Honest assessment from Yogi Hughes saying we are the measuring stick. Fair play to SG for sticking with Kent who repays with a MOTM performance.

  22. 8 wins and 2 draws needed. BTW, there's more chance of The Beatles reforming than the yahoos finishing below 2nd.

  23. Didn't realise how close the sheep were to them. Imagine they finished 3rd this year? They would have to block the Erskine and Kingston Bridges

  24. I like this buying model. Not every player is going to be a Glen Kamara but it's worth taking a punt on these guts at such a low fee (or free if out of contract). To be honest, after getting GK for 50 grand, I am more than happy to put my trust in SG and his scouting dept to spot a player. What price would GK be now if we were to sell him?

  26. Rangers have agreed pre-contract deals with Bournemouth duo Nnamdi Ofoborh and Jack Simpson – and haven’t ruled out snaring thepair of them now.The Ibrox club, who moved a step closer to the title on Saturday with a 5-0 rout of Ross County, are keen on the Cherries pair, who are both free agents this summer.MailSport understands Rangers have already tied up Bosman moves for the Nigerian midfielder and English centre-back.But they are now pursuing the possibility of a January swoop for Ofoborh in particular as gaffer Steven Gerrard looks to add more midfield cover for the Premiership run in, especially with Scott Arfield currently injured.Rangers could strike a deal for Ofoborh similar to the one that got them Glen Kamara when he arrived from Dundee in 2019 and cost them just £50,000.But MailSport understands that Bournemouth would be looking for a fee in the region of £300,000 for Ofoborh, who has six months left on his current deal with the English Championship outfit.

  27. Good old BBC...just read their report. Honourable mentions of County's high press, our goals basically down to poor defending, them hitting the bar, Motherwell ending our 6 game winning streak last week...they really are hurting
