  1. Aribo cost over a million to sign on agent and sign on fees for the player. Stuart Robertson mentioned this during an interview. The thing people forget with bosman deals is that without a transfer fee the players side are in a good position to negotiate so can ask for higher than normal wages and fees. Sakala is a great example of a player trading model, sign a player for a modest wage and sign on, get a good couple of years out of him then move him on for a few million. Not every good trade has to be a Bassey or Kamara.

  2. He's spot on about the recycling. What's the point of us meticulously sorting if it all ends up mixed in the Pacific anyway?

  3. Today, BBC Scotland accepted the Presenter of their BBC Radio Scotland programme, 'Off the Ball' committed a breach of standards. RAB(Rancid Auld Bigot) Cosgrove made an unacceptable claim about former Rangers skipper, Richard Gough. The Swedish born Scots international was not involved in the show when subjected to the Cosgrove assertion, "ah don't think Richard Gough was against apartheid". A listener complaint was upheld by the broadcaster because the comment gave the impression of being a personal attack on someone who did not have the opportunity of responding and, went beyond what would be considered acceptable in a programme of this kind.

  4. This topic has been a circular shambles for months. Admin should have locked it long ago but for some reason don't seem to have the balls for it. I'm not the only one who has finally decided to block the sources of this incessant stream of offensive Russian propaganda. It's a relief to no longer see their output, which has been good for me but should never have been necessary.

  5. Pro-regime leftist who is proving difficult to avoid. I don't know why anybody rewards him with any attention. Despite that it is extremely funny, as you point out, that he is an actual cuck.

  6. Yet again ... basic point scoring? There is no doubt that Nazi Germany, Japan, you name it, did heinous acts and committed war crimes. That does not mean that war crimes to "counter" this are not war crimes either. Nor are war crimes and mass murder in this day and age any better. You think that a German may not say so because of his own past. As has been pointed out, US and British history is littered with this too, there is no moral high ground for anyone in this. And if the US or Israel is committing mass murder, it will be noted and said. Same with China, Russia, or whomever you deem "worthy" of that "honour". Just stop pretending that one mass murder is worse or better than another. There is sure nothing anywhere near as vile and brutal as the recent wars of the US/NATO or Israel against the populations of the attacked countries going on in Ukraine. The official death toll can be checked every other day. But I see the replies have gone somewhat quieter after the above posts anyway. Wonder why ...

  7. Time flies. Most answers have already been given. We've been through this "Russia bombs civilians" before, nothing has changed. Civilians are being killed, and will be killed. Not on purpose, though. Russia will lay the Ukrainian infrastructure low to keep it from sustaining their war effort. Military equipment, people, you name it, are all relying on electricity, transport, etc.. Hence, this will be destroyed. People sit in the cold and darkness? Yes. No partying in the bigger cities, as people sit in the metro? Sad. In any war the West has waged these last 30odd years and more, these people would have far greater problems than that. The "Islamists" in Moscow were pawns. There's a reason why next to no terrorist in the Western attacks is caught, or let's get himself caught. You see these guys and see Tajik goat herders rather than hardcore jihadists. Hired killers. And Ukraine has a long history of hiring these kind of people, as you can e.g. see in the article linked above. Whatever these chaps from Moscow confess will be disputed to no end in the West, yet, they dispute anything the Kremlin says anyway, no matter how blatant the facts are that stare them in the face. Nothing new, and Russia won't care.

  9. I agree to an extent but certain people have reputations and don't bolster an argument at all. They have the opposite effect. The lady on the bus seemed to handle the medieval twit quite well.

  11. Surely Kent's situation in Turkey would put others off going over there. From a Rangers point of view, I suppose it depends on offers from elsewhere, what Lundstram is willing to accept to stay and also what possible replacements we can afford

  12. Russians moaning about Daria Dugina are on a par with Germans moaning about Dresden. Thin ice would be far too thick for these sorts to be metaphorically skating on.

  15. Sakala would be an other good example, for sure. I just can't see how, currently, Ridvan would a good example of the player trading model we need.

  17. No idea who "Destiny" is and why he is an authority on anything. A quick google states he gained an audience being average at a popular video game before spouting political opinion. Seems he was in a polyamorous marriage and his wife left him for a guy who looks even more soy than this chap.

  18. I think we have different opinions on what a successful player trading model for our club looks like, and that's fine, different opinions are allowed 😉 In my opinion, with our limited finances, we can't be spending £3.5-£5M on a player who we hope will eventually, over time, become a decent enough player to sell for a handsome profit. If we are spending that kind of money, it needs to be on players who will improve our starting 11 immediately. The punts we need to take are on low cost, or free transfers (no matter their age, Butland would be a great example, signed on a free transfer and already receiving interest from EPL teams), develop them, then sell them on at a profit. Or, bring them through our youth development. Recent examples would be ; Bassey, Kamara, Aribo, Patterson. Circa £50M raised on 5 players. At what outlay? Couple hundred grand? We have had more failings than success in player trading but with the likes of Butland, Cantwell, Dio it looks like we are on track to improve. We'll never get them 100% correct, but the less the outlay, the less (finacial) impact. I would also argue that European success, more so the domestic, will help elevate players profile and transfer value. Its imperative that we do improve as it'll be the only way we'll get finance to buy players.

  19. The answer is obvious. You find it in Putin's words above. While reading a Telegram channel that scans the news outlets in either side, I noted an article by the Independent, from 2019. IS and Ukraine, here is an interesting read (a shame that the internet does not forget (the day when journalists did their job)) https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/isis-leaders-ukraine-tukey-syria-caliphate-al-bara-shishani-a9211676.html
