Why are we all just accepting this? We don't NEED the money at the moment. We (hopefully) will have a Champions League group to negotiate. If we are serious about competing in it then we need players of Carlos' calibre. It's not like the Hutton situation where we did actually need the dosh.

Just heard that Liverpool have signed Swiss right back Degen on a free. That seems a good move. Could have done a job for us methinks. Only 26 and played v. well against Scotland last year. I'm assuming that WS doesn't see Whittaker as RB.

Deco and Gudjohnson are available apparently - wouldn't they just solve our problems? Seriously, I think we should spend most of our budget on just 2 quality players; we already have a strong SQUAD.

What should not be forgotten is that it's actually more important to win the SPL because of the guaranteed Champions League money. If we had won the UEFA but lost the league - can you imagine having to sit through the Euro qualifiers, Zeta and Red Star and the likes? We would be nervous wrecks.

I actually thought that just before they scored, we were playing our best stuff. The ITV team were saying that WS must have thought about replacing Darch. Think he could have brought Novo on then instead of waiting till his hand was forced. Even then the wee man nearly equalised. If we had scored first, I am convinced we would not have lost; for all their impressive football they never hurt us till Arshavin put that ball past Carlos.

Anyone seen the special new strip for the Final? Is it me or is the strip, modelled by Mark Hateley, almost sky blue? What is it with this Light Blue nonsense? Our colours are ROYAL BLUE! Everyone is forgetting that we can afford ONE defeat. Motherwell were the better side up until they conceded a slack equaliser.

Seem to be 8 - Weir, Davis, Beasley, McCulloch, Adam,McGregor,Burke, Naismith. Weir would be biggest loss. We went to pieces when he went off on Sunday. Evening Times made Dailly man of the match! With the players we had then we should have done an awful lot better. Craig Brown had, on the whole, a much less talented group to work with.

This seems a waste. He is in danger of becoming our Riordan, i.e. signed just to stop other clubs taking him. I thought he looked good in a pre-season friendly v La Galaxy and he was an SPL regular. If he doesn't get a chance now, then I fear he has no future. So what would have the point in signing him?
