  1. Hating More Carefully.

There is quite a delicious irony in the reporting of the RAB Cosgrove breach of standards story. If your actions have cast you in a dark light, ensure a mate/fellow traveller takes control of the ensuing story. Today's Herald carries the information and the Journo controlling the narrative is Gabriel McKay. The previous dozen years saw the then, Gabby McKay work for the Peter fanzine known as, 'the Daily Record'. The Anderson Quay blatt had a Chief Reporter, Mark McGivern during this period and he would occasionally scribble some nonsense inbetween his real purpose, leading worship at the altar of ra Sellik.

Mark McGivern over egged the rancid pudding, he lead on the front pages demanding Rangers sever connections with a new media partner, Heart and Hand. The reasoning being an investigation into the social media history of two of the contributors found questionable outpourings. Heart and Hand suspended the pair and carried out their own investigation into numerous Daily Record Journos. It took a day to discover discover numerous sectarian social media outbursts. Mark McGivern was quietly paid off, Jane Hamilton disappeared and, Gabby McKay was sent on diversity training.

Gabby was the star in the firmament, attending the opening of the 2014 Commonwealth Games at his beloved Sellik Park, he could not remain disciplined. During the late Queen's opening address he Tweeted, "where are the IRA when you really need them"? A decade after and lots of further hate, Gabby was sent on a course to learn to hate more carefully. He was allowed to quietly resign and Herald Towers employed him. A now, more careful Hater directly reporting upon a fellow Hater but, showing the way to contrition is real control.

On the next page, Gabriel is relating the catholic church view that the new proposed Assisted Dying bill is a dangerous idea. Strange, when Gabby was urging the IRA to assist in the dying of the Head of State, the church said nothing.

Today, BBC Scotland accepted the Presenter of their BBC Radio Scotland programme, 'Off the Ball' committed a breach of standards. RAB(Rancid Auld Bigot) Cosgrove made an unacceptable claim about former Rangers skipper, Richard Gough. The Swedish born Scots international was not involved in the show when subjected to the Cosgrove assertion, "ah don't think Richard Gough was against apartheid". A listener complaint was upheld by the broadcaster because the comment gave the impression of being a personal attack on someone who did not have the opportunity of responding and, went beyond what would be considered acceptable in a programme of this kind.

No mention of Packie Bonner's bus journey from Dhún na Ngall to Paradise on BBC Alba 26th?

I thought that you'd have been all over that one mate!

Apologies for the tardiness of reply.

I have heard Packie relate his travels to and from Donegal on BBC Radio Scotland on a number of occasions. Apparently, the bus returned folks to all over the Irish county and regularly took white goods, carpets and on occasion, coffins.

The BBC Alba thing is another PQ Sellik supporters project. Pat Bonner, Paul English, Lorraine McIntosh(wife of Ricky Ross of Deacon Blue), ................ etc get to over romanticise their Irish roots.

  4. I remember forty plus years past, Rangers signed a precocious teenage striker from Dundee, Ian Redford. It was a club record fee of £210,000 for the Perthshire lad, he had scored 35 goals in 80 appearances for the Dens Parkers.

His second game for Rangers was at Ibrox against Partick Thistle and we started him at left back. Thus, the precedent having been set, Dessers should be our left fullback on Saturday when we face Hibs.

I have decided I am all for the Green Party's all encompassing approach.

I would have thought the 400 plus year old Union flag should be the way to go, the crosses of St Andrew, St Patrick and, St George are all incorporated. However, if we are going down the road of flying the Rainbow flag, the Pride flag, the Palestinian flag, the Pakistani flag, ............... etc; I demand the Skull and Crossbones be awarded similar status. Why are Pirates ignored?

These guys have endured poor press for centuries, conditions were extremely harsh, the only comfort being rum, sodomy and, the lash. Sure, they indulged in the odd bit of rape and pillage but, only on high days and holidays. Glasgow City Council Convenor, Susan Baird should refrain from her Meatloaf obsession and allow us all to indulge our inner Black Pig. I want statues in George Square celebrating the contributions of Semen Stains, Master Bates and, Roger the rosey cheeked cabin boy.

What’s the situation with the awful drum next season?  Will it be moving to the Copland stand?

Last saw on the front seat next to the driver of the UB's TIFO depiction of a bus intent upon travelling to Dublin.

Let's hope the Dublin Garda Siochana decide to confiscate and keep it?

  9. This morning, I clicked open the link for the on line Herald and find the recently resigned Scottish Minister for Health, Michael Matheson has been submitting sick lines these last several weeks. After attempting to defraud the Scottish Parliament to the tune of £11,000 by claiming expenses run up watching Sellik on his Government issued i-pad during a family holiday in Morocco, he resigned on the 7th February. He has fail failed to attend Holyrood and fail failed to vote on Parliamentary business since that date. As stated, he has been submitting sick lines.

Last week, we found out Matheson had been found guilty on the three counts by the all party Disciplinary Committee. We await another all party committee passing sentence on dearest Michael but, it is accepted he will have to submit another resignation, this time as MSP for Falkirk. Just like Derek MacKay and Margaret Ferrier before him, he is deliberately delaying the inevitable to beyond the 10th April. The date is important for two reasons, an increase in salary and a considerable boost in personal pension fund.

Remember, as Humza has said, "Michael is a man of integrity".

  10. Fifty years past, I attended the Manchester United v Rangers friendly at Old Trafford.

It was a hastily arranged friendly because both clubs had been knocked out of their respective national cup competition. Rangers had succumbed 0-3 at Ibrox's first Sunday fixture in February whereas, Man U fell at home to Ipswich Town 0-1. Both Scottish Cup and FA Cup quarter-finals day was Saturday the 9th of March and both clubs had free Saturdays. Tensions had been raised by Lou Macari, he sold a piece to the News of the World saying he had always enjoyed facing Rangers as a Sellik player. He explained that his win bonus was placed at the Bookies before old firm games such was the confidence of victory.

The Strathclyde Uni Union mini bus was an 18 seater, 28 travelled and, 22 returned. The attendance was given as 25,000 but, I suspect it was several thousand higher because the Rangers support walked in over the demolished exit gate. Start to finish, the game was, 'a bottle party'. It was a typical early 70s game, lots of running fights including on the pitch. Rangers won 2-3, our scorers were Greig, Johnstone and, Parlane. The winning goal was a King of Ibrox Park penalty, as Derek hit the net a few hundred fans from either side were on the turf swapping punches.

When we returned to the bus, both back door windows had been panned. I remember this proved fortunate as the lad who had purchased a match programme, ripped off the front cover and lobbed it through the gaping aperture. The reason being a portrait of Lou Macari was on the front cover.

Sincerely, I hope all Bears have a happier day at Murrayfield.

It's hard to know which Dundee team to dislike more these days. I've been told on a number of occasions that Dundee is much sunnier and drier than 'the west coast', perhaps they're just not used to rain...

The Dundee climate stats compiled over 150 years tell us the city is sunnier(almost 1,500 hours of sunshine per annum). Glasgow has 1250 hours by comparison. Reference rain, Dundee is far drier averaging 8 days of precipitation during the month of March, the dear green place averages 12 days for the same month.

Another aspect of Dundee weather is the drying wind/breeze constantly emanating from the silvery Tay.

John Nelms gave Kheredine the patter on unexpected overnight millimeters but, it was deliberate interference. The reason he was forking the Dens Park pitch at five in the morning is because he and his Board took a decision NOT to fund the necessary installation of proper pitch drainage. Four postponements in one season because of a waterlogged pitch whereas, one hundred yards DOWN the road, Tannadice has been playable all season.

John Nelms and Kheredine Idessane were both standing on the CONNING tower.

Humza is a habitual player of both the race and victim cards.

The reality is he has led an entitled life. Rich parents combined with rich in-laws and, his private education equate to a most privileged existence.

You must wonder how such a serial incompetent has succeeded in climbing to the top of the greasy pole?

  13. I see the Dundee Tourist Board(does such an entity exist) are trolling travelling Rangers supporters. They are extending an invitation to the fans to stay in the city and enjoy a wonderful St Patrick's Day visiting the castle, museum, jute mill and, the two boats moored at the harbour.

In these times of wokery, I would have thought Dundee Tourist Board should be putting their shoulder to the wheel for Scotland to receive compensation from the Irish. I believe Patrick was a teenage lad taken from Dumbarton against his will by raiding Irish pirates. He was condemned to years of slavery.

Further, the postponement has lifted the spirits of Dundee's faltering neighbours. United fans are smiling again after their humping by the Pars because the thought of inconvenienced Rangers supporters being further inconvenienced makes their weekend.

    Desperate Dan Loyal RSC.

  14. I have no complaints over the aggregate score over the tie, we competed and were not disgraced. Even after last week's admiral 2-2, I felt the Portuguese had too much width, pace and, guile for a leggy injury compromised Rangers at Ibrox. However, the three goals conceded were the perfect storm :

    1. a VAR awarded penalty; Souttar heads the ball on to his arm and I feel the decision was contrived?

    2. a Goldson own goal, cracking finish.

    3. a three minute VAR check for a correctly awarded goal at Ibrox.

The penalty is the only one I would take issue with but, the trio as a collective has a certain uniqueness.

  15. Do we stick or twist?

Remember, away goals no longer count as double; thus, sticking is not an option.

If we get after them, they have a lot of pace, width and, guile. They will pick us off.

I hope the Gaffer has the answer?
