Think we need to just accept he won't play for the Rangers again.

Still can't accept the decision to let him go. Madness.

Can't really understand the indignation about Boyd's choice of team or league. Rangers are a financial basket case on a slide to obscurity and playing in a virtual backwater - so from what point of comparison are people ridiculing his decision to join Boro? Amazingly, there seems to be no shortage of posters around who still don't appear to have grasped what's happened at Ibrox these last ten years. Time enough to be criticising other clubs when our own is dragged from its current mess. And thanks Kris Boyd. Good luck ... you played your part in the Rangers story.

You're absolutely right Calscot. The tartan army might be the most pathetic bunch of bastards and a national embarrassment but it serves no purpose to use equally squalid tactics to deal with them. It would be far more appropriate to laugh at them for the morons they are. Anyone who actually believes the jacobite cause was synonymous with the interests of Scotland deserves all the ridicule we can muster. Lack of education, social mythology, and absence of genuine self-respect are what the tartan army is about and I wouldn't afford them any more attention than is strictly necessary. I'm all for being a proud Scot but I'd rather that pride was expressed in the form of contribution to Scottish society than by a moronic parody of mock-Scottish muppetry and flaunting our loss of national identity. It confounds me utterly the apparent inability of so many to grasp the wonderful opportunity to be both Scottish and British - and to be so completely unable to distinguish between British and English. In my opinion, the English are a wonderful people, sharing the same social flaws as ourselves but blessed with equally deep and admirable characteristics. for my part at least, if I had to choose a neighbour I would find it difficult to choose anyone other than the one we already have. but I'd still love to see us gub them 7-0 at Wembley

Some folks just don't do adventure. The thought of Boyd settling in another country and coping with unfamiliarity just isn't credible. For £50K a week I'd be taking belly dancing lessons and spitting at Greeks. it's not as if west central Scotland is the pinnacle of human experience.

For the advocates of fan ownership amongst us, apparently it can be done, if your supporters trust has enough members and the ability to with it. However, it looks like the Bino's Trust is some way ahead of its Rangers equivalent on all counts ... we can only dream of having 2000 members. :D:D First Division side Stirling Albion have become the first Scottish senior club to be owned by their fans. The Stirling Albion Supporters Trust has agreed a £300,000 deal to clear debts and make a one-off payment to Peter McKenzie, chairman for 26 years. McKenzie, 84, has agreed to write off the £1.2m loan that was due to him. Since launching its campaign to buy the club last May, the trust has registered 2,000 worldwide members, including Cristiano Ronaldo and Andy Murray. "I am thrilled that the true fans will look after the future of this great club," said McKenzie, who in May made a £41,000 payment to save the club from liquidation and HM Revenue and Customs received a further £48,000 in November. "I had a few offers on the table but it was always my wish that the club remain within the local community." It is two years since he announced that he wanted to step down as chairman and guarantor and make his majority shareholding in the club available for sale to any interested parties. 'Buy Stirling Albion' campaign spokesperson Paul Goodwin said: "We are absolutely delighted to have reached an agreement to acquire Mr McKenzie's majority shareholding in the club. "Throughout the negotiations Mr McKenzie made the wellbeing of the club and its position in the community key factors in any agreement he made. "This acquisition has the potential to be a landmark moment for the future of Scottish football as it marks the first senior Scottish football club to come under the direct control of its fans' supporters trust. "Everyone knows that there are severe pressures on football at all levels just now and we are under no illusion, and no-one else connected with the club should be either, that there is a very challenging future ahead. "The Trust is absolutely committed to supporting the management and the team, developing the club's role and presence in the wider Stirling community and undertaking some innovative commercial activity in order to generate new income." The club have been in court three times over unpaid council bills and faced two winding-up orders over unpaid tax. Last year, the local council took action to recover £67,000 in unpaid rent and rates for use of Forthbank Stadium. That figure has risen to £100,000 and legal proceedings were opened last month at Stirling Sheriff Court. The fans group had discussed selling the naming rights for the club, with "Stirling Meerkats" one such suggestion.

The RST has finally completed its transformation into a blatant whore, desperate to do "business" with anyone for a negotiable price. No pride left, where do these clowns go now that they've hit rock bottom? Read the following and marvel at the prostitute pretending to act on behalf of Rangers supporters. Bearwoodbear has finally lost his marbles... The RST would welcome talks with Rangers director Dave King regarding joint ownership of the club. Speaking in a newspaper article on Friday, King dismissed the idea that Rangers could be owned by its fans as "rubbish" - the RST are unsure whether this was aimed directly at their proposal or not. "What we are looking for is partnership," said RST chairman Stephen Smith. "Although the Trust is in favour of supporter ownership of the football club - that's our mission statement - we are entirely happy to work in partnership with anybody who sees the fans as a major stakeholder and wants the fans more involved. "We will settle for a halfway house, or fans taking 20% or 25% or 30% of the football club, that will give us a greater stake and a greater involvement and diversify share ownership. "If Dave King, or anyone else, wants to engage with the support on that basis, we are still willing to do that. "Our position is, and always has been, that we are prepared to work with anybody who has the best interests of the club. "We are happy to have discussions with anybody, from David Murray downwards, about the future of Rangers and the role the organised fans can play in that, in terms of taking a major stake and making the phrase 'the Rangers family' mean something. "If Dave King is happy to do that, then we are happy to meet him and I'll meet him any time he wants."

I'd love to be a fly on the wall for that one.... "Sir David, we'd like to talk to you" "Fuck off"

You are the indeed the true voice of the RST. You feel you have to keep on making noises but you just don't know the words. When you could and indeed should have been on here explaining what your band of secretive brothers were doing with your only shows in town, you were nowhere to be seen. Now there's nothing to talk about, you're bloody everywhere. Is trading insults with your betters the new RST recruiting angle? You really haven't a clue, have you, debating who said what to who and when. Away and run create a supporters trust that more than your cronies can believe in ... Isn't that what you said you were going to do before you turned out to be just more of the same, another empty drum?

Supporter ownership is not a realistic objective for anyone to pursue, so why waste energy chasing shadows. That's not to condemn the principle but, in my opinion it's a battle that cannot be won and those are not the ones you willingly fight. Abandon the limelight for a while and concentrate on building a solid base from which to take on our owner and our many detractors. Just for a change, get smart and get equipped.

Above all else, the Trust needs to acknowledge that it should have no opinions, take no action and evolve no policy other than those that derive from its membership. The Trust in itself is nothing, which is fundamentally why it has been singularly ineffective whatever guise it has tried to adopt. The Trust can only address this by starting again, they absolutely cannot progress dragging their baggage behind them. There needs to be an opening of doors, a transparency of action and it is essential that there is a truly independent platform, divorced totally from FF, the RSA or any other body. The Trust must be the Trust, the whole Trust and nothing but the Trust. It must exist only for it's membership, not for itself ... to acquire its member's views, needs, aspirations ... to evolve policy and strategy that receive where possible the sanction of the members. The Trust should be everything to every supporter but above all it should be trusted and earn the confidence of its members and non-members alike. Today we have a joke, a failure, going backwards. It disappoints me hugely that those in the best position to see this are the ones who want to do most to sustain it. You don't plan the future on a fans forum but ffs let's at least admit we should be doing massively better.

Why? Would you see that as important? Isn't it enough to deal with the problem at hand without worrying about what's beyond it? Ot do you think it we shouldn't have a view unless we've already thrown our hat in the ring?

It's not ideas we're short of but the ability to select the right ones and put them into effect. The RST hasn't been short of talking but that hasn't led it to the the point of achievement - and what is the point if achievement is placed second in line to personal recognition by those whose responsibility it's supposed to be to deliver it?

So, more of the same to come then. Seriously, while I understand it was a founding objective, I'd now be setting my sights higher than a seat on the board. Above all else I'd want to see the Trust recover some respect among the support and really start to grow the membership, without which there's no credibility in the first place. To do that it's essential to draw a line in the sand and make a fresh start, which would allow you to leave behind some of the debilitating baggage of the last few years. In the process you get a chance to re-introduce some of the democracy that has been missing for years, clear out some of your undoubtedly dead wood and attract some of the talent that wouldn't touch the current RST with a bargepole. Or, of course, you could just keep rolling along because it, convenient and comfortable to do so ... And UCB can keep complaining every time someone wants something better than he's offering.

No, I'm afraid I think you're taking the wrong tack here. The point is that every time these people are confronted on relevant issues they hide behind personal offence, collective responsibility, unfair criticism or whatever. What we need is to refuse to put up with this insulting treatment, not give them even more space to fudge and gaff about. If he's such a big boy then perhaps he'll be big enough to accept responsibility for the organization he previously told us all he was joining to make a difference. Some difference! If you tolerate this level of incompetence then don't be too surprised when what you get is ... even more incompetence. I mean, we all know they need to go, do you think they're going to volunteer?

I'm sorry but this isn't personal. What it is, is important. I'm not being abusive but I am being deliberately direct and attempting to cut through the same old waffle and deflection. What we have here is a prime example of the RST in (in)action. Won't resign, can't make a difference, put self first. Why shouldn't these people be targeted? Why shouldn't we expect more of them? Why should they be allowed to continue playing what is obviously just an ego massage? WQhat justifies this endless toleration of failure. Frankie, you tell me where there have ever been any real answers. Show me an example of an RST board member taking personal responsibility for the collective failure. Point out what can possibly be gained by continually patting these people on the back for 'volunteering'. In the business world, when you have a square peg in a round hole, you don't start re-shaping the hole, you get some new pegs. We're dancing around the real problem and no one seems to want to rock the boat. Well folks, in case you hadn't noticed, the boat is sinking fast and before long, rocking may not be enough.

By productive I take it you mean less awkward, more easily faffed over, less obliged to give meaningful answers, anything that avoids the real issues. No change there then.

Are you seriously saying that, as a member of the RST board (albeit an unelected one), that you choose to put your own sensitivities ahead of your willingness to offer a meaningful response when confronted with your own failure? Go dry your eyes, big shot. The only thing wrong with supporter representation is the willingness of representatives to deal with there own lack of achievement. I realise it's not easy to take but, please, every day I listen to this put 'Rangers First' nonsense from people who plainly are prepared to do nothing of the sort. Trying is always commendable but refusing to acknowledge a lack of achievement is unforgivable and nothing characterises the RST as much as its failure to achieve, on any level. People ask why the club and the support are so fucked up - well in each case, look no further than those involved. Improvement can only come with fresh blood, root and branch change. And whether you like it or not UCB, you're part of the problem. But hey, maybe you're just too busy being offended.

I wouldn't argue with that but if he wants to defend either the Trust or his role in it then he should do so without slithering around like it's some distant issue he shouldn't be confronted with. As far as I can see, he's done nothing himself and takes no opportunity to prove otherwise. He seems to think making smartarsed retorts is an acceptable alternative to addressing the concerns of Rangers fans. If the RST is going to go on taking offence at criticism, as if there couldn't possibly be any credible reason for it, then they deserve to be hounded at every opportunity. You want supporter unity, a supporter voice, then these malingerers need to get out of the way.
