Very good goals at the end , however we are still playing very slow at times , but at the end of the day 3 good points and kept chipping away at the goal difference 👍

Not away from home in Europe. Dortmund aside we were pretty lacklustre in most of our EL away games (Red Star, Braga, Leipzig).
Good point

Ultimately well beaten as Liverpool eased off in the 2nd half. The usual caveats over resources aside, we didn't really offer any decent quality on the ball until far too late in the game. You can play better teams but you can't afford to be so poor on the ball. Not good enough.
Obviously there were a few exceptions to that. McGregor was excellent, Goldson was largely solid whilst Matondo and Sakala provided a work-rate and threat that was missing previously. However, we're clearly well short overall and that goes further than a few bad passes.
Before bed, our season won't be defined by dropping out the CL group stage. However, the manager really needs to find a system and an XI that provides a lot more consistency and quality domestically and in Europe. As it stands I'm not seeing much progress but no white flag yet.
Last season we had a clear way of playing and we did it well , this season I simply cannot see what he's trying to do .

Wasn't a shrinking violet when we destroyed Dortmund away last season.
We are outclassed at this level and quicker we understand and accept that, the better.
We've punched above our weight for 2 or 3 years in Europe, starting with SG and continued with Gio last season and this season by qualifying for the CL.
Wouldn't matter who our manager was, it would be same outcome.
I agree with everything you just said, we have simply not strengthened in midfield for years now , free transfers , loans etc etc , you simply can't compete at this level with that type of player.
However you can press , tackle , pass , none of which we did tonight .

Nope! I was watching the same match as you, difference is I'm a realist! you're a dreamer!
Well if your a realist you must realise we should be able to do the basics .

Yeah, like Rangers should be battering Liverpool at Anfield.
No of course they shouldn't, and no where have I ever said that or anything like it .
However we should be able to do the basics , we are a shadow of last year's Europa league team , we are miles off it.

If it wasn't for McGregor tonight , god only knows what the score would have been .

Embarrassing? geesa break man, total class from Liverpool, what has WS got to do with anything?
See this Liverpool class pish I keep hearing , they have been woeful this season , we are awful at this level , as for the WS comment , it’s called a comparison .

Simply down to Liverpool having far superior players to us with vast CL experience.
We can’t pass , can’t control the ball , we are miles off it . Yes this is a good team , but they have been in a very poor run of form .

We are so far off the pace here its embarrassing, I very rarely criticise us , but being unable to do the basics is horrific , this is like going back in time to Walters European performances .

I missed tonight's game due to a prior commitment, however I'm hearing the team played well and fought, though it must be a worry when not 1 of our summer signings started .
I've defended the club, but that's ridiculous , we also had 2 players that played our last game from years ago against Bursaspor.

This Ajax team sold £250 million worth of talent , if the had sold the other 3 players that EPL teams were in for , it would have been above the £400 million.
How anyone thinks we are going to compete at this level is way beyond me , we are where we are and just have to live with it .
My biggest concern is the board are making some really really weird decisions and we are nothing more than a cash cow to them , why I simply do not know .
The ticketing fiasco is unreal , not 1 single Mygers member who wasn't a S/T holder managed to get a ticket , the day trip debacle and subsequent offer ( if twitter rumours are true ) that they re all getting an Anfield ticket is shocking .

Honestly mate , how some of our fans base look at top European teams is beyond me .

The biggest problem Celtic have is they go all out , full guns blazing , once that fails they are a burst flush , don’t get me wrong as much as I hate to say it they are a decent team , but they have no street smarts and that’s what will cost them in the end .
I would much rather be dogged , hang in for an hour then see how the game pans out , at this level it’s all about getting points on the board , nothing else .

its amazing the number of fans who even after everything we went through , after the last few years of massive losses and the front loading of investment which culminated in winning 55, still have no clue as to how football finances work .
I had a discussion at work yesterday with a fellow fan and he thought we had all the transfer money already in the bank , there are fans that dont understand how these deals are structured and that usually they are paid over the period of the contract , also the VAT element , its mental how over the top our fanbase really is at times , there is never any logic applied .

I thought when they lost the case they were to pay our costs or was I imagining this .

Even if you think some but not all of those players are not good enough, let me ask you this:
What does success loom like for you this season? Is it winning the title? I'm guessing the answer has to be yes??
Secondly, do you think this squad can win the title this season? I'm not sure many fans do now after the deja vu of yesterday, but I'm interested in what you think.
Finally, maybe you don't think it's a squad issue in which case you maybe you think a different management team is needed to get the best out of the current squad.
Answering 'Rubbish' is a poor response without a counter argument or opinion.
Of course we are capable of winning the league , better teams than this have been well beaten by that mob .Bar a horrendous refereeing performance we would only be 3 points off instead of 5 .
The reasons for not spending more money are documented , however we will IMHO strengthen in January , the league has not been lost .
That mob have spent £43 million approx not including money they have brought in since last summer , because they can , its not rocket science , you can stamp your feet and take as many huffs as you want , nothing will change until we are on a proper financial footing , as of yet we aren't. Financial fare play is over a rolling period and we have consistently been posting Hugh losses .

McLaughlin, Goldson, Kamara, Kent, Barisic, Wright, Morelos, Sakala, Matondo are NOT good enough for Rangers. They've all had their moments, but they have not been on it for too long. (I give Morelos and Matondo a chance to prove me wrong). It happens in football. Given we also have medium and long term injuries to Hagi, Helander, Souttar, Davies, Roofe, (add Lowry and Lawrence to the short term injury list) - we needed to strengthen to just attempt to be successful this season. Don't you agree?
PS. Sorry for deliberately waiting for this evening to reply to your response, I thought you may see clearer now.
Absolute rubbish , don't know why I'm even responding to this drivel.

It's disappointing that we've not used our position of playing in the CL to attract players and strengthen the team.
The fact that some of these players we have been linked with can be signed in January for nothing might be something to do with it , possibly .

Seems like nothing will happen. We'd have heard about any potential signings by now with paperwork and medicals required. We have a bloated squad, yes, but many are not good enough and can't even be punted, many are injured or coming back from injury with no guarantees they'll be up to speed before it's too late. Looks like we're losing a reliable midfielder and we are one or two more injuries away from a crisis. Yet, here we are in the most enviable position in over a decade with huge domestic and Champions league season ahead, and we think we're strong enough. We'll see if the cool guys still think we're strong enough by mid-next week. I'll be off to wet my pants then.
Who are all these players that aren't good enough , the same players plus Aribo and Bassey , that got to a European final , honest to God.

Calling someone a "panty wetter" is fine if they're going nuts and making unreasonable demands.
I don't think those of us who are questioning the lack of activity, particularly since CL qualification, fall into that category.
Sorry I should have explained better , I wasn’t having a go at posters on here , but on other forums and especially twitter .
I really think though that having a squad of nigh on 30 players , though that does include Devine , Lowry , McCann and Kieran Wright I’d big enough , it was 32 but Kelly and Katic are away .
we just can’t keep buying players , it’s the harsh reality of where we are .
And we need to keep the pathway for young players free .

Absolute dross , we have no shape and it now appears no drive or idea what we are meant to be doing , utterly depressing.
