Kenny Miller forced to sit out Easter Road duel By Graham 'B.O. Bhoy' Spiers Rangers will be without Kenny Miller against Hibernian at Easter Road tonight after the striker suffered yet another recurrence yesterday of the trapped nerve that has intermittently blighted his season. Miller, who may have to see a specialist over the summer about the injury, has complained of feeling further discomfort in the wake of Saturdayââ?¬â?¢s Old Firm match at Ibrox. Walter Smith hopes that he will be available for Saturdayââ?¬â?¢s game against Aberdeen at Ibrox, but is resigned to resting Miller in the meantime. ââ?¬Å?Kenny has had a recurrence of his problem, but Iââ?¬â?¢m hopeful that, if he gets a couple of daysââ?¬â?¢ rest, he will be OK to face Aberdeen,ââ?¬Â Smith said. ââ?¬Å?I was hoping Kenny might go injury-free until the end of the season, but he has been feeling the soreness again in that area, so it looks like he will miss out against Hibs. Itââ?¬â?¢s a nerve problem. Heââ?¬â?¢s on medication, which will keep him going until the end of the season, but that is not going to solve the problem. He will have to get it looked at in the close season, and hopefully they can do something about it. Sasa Papac will also be out for Rangers, but could return against Aberdeen. Smith confessed that he was ââ?¬Å?pleasantly surprisedââ?¬Â by Rangersââ?¬â?¢ recent run in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League ââ?¬â? they have won six games in a row and are aiming to make it nine ââ?¬â? though he cautioned against the notion of both halves of the Old Firm being able to close out the season by claiming a full 18 points between them. ââ?¬Å?We are in the midst of a decent run of results and we just have to make sure we keep it going,ââ?¬Â Smith said. ââ?¬Å?Iââ?¬â?¢m pleasantly surprised overall. I think the team has got the capability, but what has surprised me a wee bit is that this run has come at a time when weââ?¬â?¢ve had injuries and suspensions and other things to deal with. ââ?¬Å?You never know what will happen. Iââ?¬â?¢ve said before that the Old Firm game tends to grab everyoneââ?¬â?¢s attention, and that it is thought that ââ?¬â? win, lose or draw an Old Firm game ââ?¬â? youââ?¬â?¢ll go on and win all the rest of the matches. But itââ?¬â?¢s not like that. ââ?¬Å?There is the possibility that both Rangers and Celtic could drop points over these next three games. I think this season has shown that we have to do well to win the other games. At Rangers we have already found out to our cost that the other teams in Scotland are capable of winning this season.ââ?¬Â Mixu Paatelainen, the Hibernian manager, is hoping to put that sort of thinking to the test tonight. He wants his side to play on any nerves in the Rangers squad as he targets the wins over the Old Firm that would result in them playing a significant role in the destination of the title ââ?¬â? they also play Celtic on Sunday. The Finn is eager to see how Rangers react if things do not go all their own way against a Hibernian team who, despite pushing them close in the recent 3-2 defeat, have failed to take a single point from their opponents this season. ââ?¬Å?Rangers are full of confidence and they know if they win their remaining matches they are champions,ââ?¬Â Paatelainen said. ââ?¬Å?They are determined and will make matches very difficult for their opponents, no doubt, as always. ââ?¬Å?But a draw is not a good result for Rangers, so the longer the game goes, if we can defend well, they will get anxious and a little bit nervous and probably start forcing their passes a little bit. In that respect they could make it a little bit easier for us.ââ?¬Â http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/scotland/article6276313.ece

I find Celtic fans singing songs about murdering British soldiers offensive. What does he say about that? As for Joke McConnell, he is single-handedly responsible for ramping up sectarian tensions in Scotland to their highest level in decades.

Like the one where the US team's strolling about Beijing during the Olympics, passing the camcorder around. Edu: "Sweat, sweat, sweat. Just sweatin'. All I can think is sweat." Some other player: 'And if there's anything else we'll let you know...' Edu: "Yeah......just sweatin' man..."

And don't you just love it when the league is wrapped up and you can just sit back and enjoy the party at the cup final. 2003 was like that (until Dundee decided to run us close).
-
"International" eh? Well it's not as if they'll need Champions League ones next season.
-
The most important game since last Saturday and until this Saturday. Like Frankie, I don't think this title is over yet, but a win tomorrow would be a major, major step towards it. I'll take squeaky bum 2009 over 2001, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2007 any day.

'Sellick bigot in correctly spelled banner shock'
-
The key difference being she's related to the Celtic manager. Bigots in the family tut tut. Suppose it'll do Strachan's "Celtic-minded" credentials no harm if nothing else.

From... "It's my flag, I made it and I will fight it all the way if anything comes of it" ...to... “I was very drunk. I found the flag at the side of the seat. It was a moment of drunken stupidity. I regret it completely. I’m ashamed." Bwahahaha Caught red handed, bigot bhoy

Ha ha ha. Banned for life. Bigots don't win scumbag. ----------------------------------------------------- My lifeââ?¬â?¢s over By KENNY ANGOVE and ROBERT McAULAY Published: Today THE shamed boyfriend of Gordon Strachanââ?¬â?¢s niece was banned by Celtic for life yesterday for waving an IRA flag at the Old Firm game. Yob Aaron Laing, 21, was hammered by the Hoops after he was captured holding an Irish flag with the terrorist groupââ?¬â?¢s name scrawled on it. Disgrace ... Laing waves flag at Ibrox And last night, after hearing of the clubââ?¬â?¢s ban, the lout fan said: ââ?¬Å?Well, thatââ?¬â?¢s my life over, then.ââ?¬Â Laing, of Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, has been dating 17-year-old Ellis Paterson ââ?¬â? daughter of Celtic manager Strachanââ?¬â?¢s sister Laura, 42. The grinning yob was photographed waving the banner as he watched Saturdayââ?¬â?¢s match at Ibrox. Furious Hoops chiefs vowed to ban the thug. But they were left red-faced when the lout was identified ââ?¬â? it was discovered heââ?¬â?¢d been dating Strachanââ?¬â?¢s relative. Manager ... Gordon Strachan Last night one source said: ââ?¬Å?Laing goes all over Scotland and Europe to see Celtic. ââ?¬Å?His girlfriendââ?¬â?¢s dad Davie Paterson is married to Gordon Strachanââ?¬â?¢s sister and gets tickets for the games from the Celtic manager. Embarrassment ââ?¬Å?He goes on the Grampian Emerald Celtic supportersââ?¬â?¢ bus regularly and there will be people on that bus totally ashamed at what he has done. ââ?¬Å?Itââ?¬â?¢s a complete embarrassment for the supportersââ?¬â?¢ club and I would imagine Gordon Strachan and Celtic wonââ?¬â?¢t be too happy about it.ââ?¬Â Last night shamed Laing claimed the stunt was ââ?¬Å?drunken stupidityââ?¬Â after finding the flag beside his seat. Laing said he travelled alone on the train to the match and bought the ticket from a tout outside the ground. And he even claimed his antics were not sectarian. Dating ... Laing with Strachan's niece Ellis He said: ââ?¬Å?Even though Iââ?¬â?¢m ashamed about it, itââ?¬â?¢s not a sectarian flag. The British Army are a lot worse than that.ââ?¬Â He added: ââ?¬Å?I was very drunk. I found the flag at the side of the seat. ââ?¬Å?It was a moment of drunken stupidity. I regret it completely. Iââ?¬â?¢m ashamed. ââ?¬Å?I shouldnââ?¬â?¢t have picked it up, but in the heat of the moment I did. He confirmed heââ?¬â?¢d been dating Ellis but claimed they had split up. He said: ââ?¬Å?We had a thing quite a while ago but that has been finished for months.ââ?¬Â Last night Parkhead chiefs refused to comment. But a Parkhead insider said the yob had been banned for life. The source said: ââ?¬Å?The club does not tolerate this type of behaviour.ââ?¬Â Ellisââ?¬â?¢s Bebo site displays the IRA slogan Tiocfaidh ar la or Our Day Will Come. Last night her family refused to comment at their home in Aberdeen. http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/news/article2424066.ece

Come to think of it, Spiers and co have been strangely quiet on the all-round behaviour on Saturday of the most bigotted and evil support in world football... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xwiW-C7x7bk&feature=player_embedded]YouTube - celtic fc terrorist scum song[/ame]

What a scumbag. We have brave soldiers welcomed to Ibrox one week and the very people who wish to murder them the next, sitting in the exact same seats. Let's see Liewell get out of this one.

Hull are doomed. They can't have won more than a couple of games since Christmas.
-
I make it 4 goals in 8 starts. He hit the ground running when he first arrived, admittedly he's been quiet since.

Lovenkrands scores again.

Southgate actually strikes me as a fairly decent sort, and I'd like to think that whether Boro go down or not, Gibson won't sack him. Hard to see what they'd gain by giving him the bullet and even harder to see what anyone else would have done with Boro this season given the downsizing at that club recently. They bang on down there about the lack of English candidates for the national job, well now's the time to start giving guys like Southgate, Pearce etc. the chance of a proper apprenticeship. Who knows, the Championship could be the making of him. As for tonight's game, no personal preferences. I fancy the draw, but with one goal in five games, I don't fancy the Geordies much and could even see Boro sneaking the win. Should be interesting.

Tell me that's not sarcasm
-
Not a bad list of dead wood there. I reckon we'd survive on the playing front without those (I'd actually keep Weir if anything). Unfortunately if we don't win the league it'll be the highest earners who'll be in the biggest danger.

Poring over every sports section I could find this morning:), I noticed Shrewsbury Town have won just 3 out of 23 away games this season. And qualified for the play-offs. Mad.

Who saw the look on Aiden McSqueekys face when...
Norris Cole replied to John Barr's topic in Rangers Chat
They need to get rid of this "Old Firm" tag. In reality they are the absolute antithesis of us. Remember when they started winning leagues after our 9IAR and the team wore T-shirts like '10/1 in a row', 'No Excuses', 'Milk Lemonade Chocolate' and so on. Even in their moments of triumph their ingrained insecurity inevitably turns their thoughts to us. Which is nice. -
Winning this title will save us in the short-term. On the other hand, Celtic have an opportunity to dominate for the next 4/5 years if they win it. I honestly believe if they win 4IAR the financial - and therefore footballing - gulf between us and them will be unbridgeable for that long. Perhaps we'll only appreciate the significance of Saturday's result in a few years' time.

Do we have the making s of a team for the future?
Norris Cole replied to calscot's topic in Rangers Chat
If we don't win the league he'll be one of the first to go. Champions League football might just see him stay on though. Reason #427 why this season's title is so important. -
Fuck it, if we're gonna take the title off them, we might as well throw them an "Aye but" line to use over what will be a long and painful summer for them.

That tackle by Caldwell is actually worse. Playing football "the Glasgow Celtic way".
