On the whole I thought it was a 50/50 game. We never took our chances they did. Simple as that. Much as it pains me to say.

If Tavs been awful, how would you describe Cantwells performance in his preferred position?
I like TC, he's a good player. But he over complicates things too often. Simple passes missed or runs himself into trouble. He needs to add a level of discipline to his game.

Hateley and McCoist.

Davie Cooper.

Gascoigne, but shout outs to De Boer, Trevor Steven (first time) and Albertz.

Brian Laudrup, shout outs to Walters and McCann as well. I would also mention Cooper but he's going on the right for me.

Stuart McCall.

Stevens was great for us but was never the same after he got injured playing for England. We really struggled to replace him and it took us years to get another good right back.
I think Tav deserves it though.

Butcher and Gough.
Honourable mentions to Weir, Amoruso and McPherson.
I always thought McLaren could have been an all timer if he wasn't always injured. Moore was good as well but struggled with injuries also. Goldson was great under Gerrard but never quite been the same since he left. But he's off to a good start under Clement.
I don't feel Cuellar was there long enough.

Again basing on players I've seen. Davie Robertson or Sasa Papac. Shout out to Numan as well. All 3 were great when playing. But Numan struggled with injuries for us at times.

Since I started following Rangers in about 1984. We've been blessed with a number of great keepers. Woods, Goram, Klos and McGregor. Even the likes of Waterreus and Walker were solid keepers. But purely for his contribution in my time watching and supporting Rangers. It has to be Goram.

It is a fantastic photo'.
DJ is surrounded by three opposition players and Jim Craig. The three are David Hay, Billy McNeill and, Bobby Murdoch/George Connolly?
Jim Craig left Sellik and emigrated to apartheid South Africa. Several years later he returned to Scotland and became a bankrupt Dentist. You do not get many of those in a lucky bag.
I recall when I was young. Jim Craig was a talking head on Scotsport and Scotland Today. Would have been mid to late 80's.
My old man was never a fan to the point he'd switch over the TV when he started talking. Being young I couldn't quite comprehend why. It was only as I got older I understood.
Anyway, this thread is about Derek Johnstone. I only saw him at the very end of his career and really feel I missed a great player.

Good luck to him.

Kamara is a strange one. Great player when he wants to be. But never the same player after the Prague game. Just seems to have lost interest with only brief flashes of what he was. I worry he'll end up the same as the likes of Morelos. A player we should have taken the money for when offered it.

Robbie McCrorie recently signed a new deal until 2025.

Davie Weir was a good captain for us. Often wish we'd got him from Hearts before he went to Everton.

Sad and doleful tidings

I can def see a caretaker manager perhaps to the New Year.
We've an awful run of games coming up. Putting a new manager in and he loses them could kill them before they've even started.

Last night reminded me of the Young Boys game in Switzerland. Where it was mostly 50/50 and could have gone either way but defensive lapses cost us.

I was RB & RM. Would probably be a wing back if I played nowadays. I was solid if unspectacular. I had dodgy knees so never went far. Played for all my school teams and a couple local teams. I made the bench for a Juniors game alongside a couple of other guys from the boys team. But we were literally making up the numbers due to injuries.

It's getting scarily absurd now.
I fear where stuff like this is headed. Anyone that doesn't hear duh duh duh. Are genuinely just looking to stir up division.

I believe Dundee Utd have played Barcelona 4 times over 2 ties (60's and 90's) and won all four games. That must be some kind of record?
Just looked that up. Thats a fair record.

Great Post!
When I was a boy and just discovering football. Dundee United under McLean were at the height of their powers. They were a really good team.
I still remember the night they beat Barcelona and the back to back cup finals when they lost to St. Mirren and Celtic.
Back then they were genuinely a team I liked watching. Such a shame what Scottish football has become.

Matthias Sammer played for Dortmund against us in 95 in the 2-2 game at Ibrox. He won the Ballon D'or in 96. Andreas Moller played in the same game.
