I'm not saying he is but I'm sure there are a fair number of these guys at our games

What is worse in terms of "sporting" integrity? A player diving to try and attain a penalty (as Ki did during the SC semi) or being "creative" with loopholes that were set up by HMRC in the first place? Sporting integrity in football? Give me a break. In a month that has seen a club that is backed by a man with repugnant and unearned wealth win the EPL and one of the biggest cheats in European football have a major role in a CL victory, integrity is way down the list I'm afraid

If only that was the case but I from experience it's just a blinkered view that blights many ages. For example, I watched the OF game with a guy recently (a brother of a friend of a friend) who was in his late 40's. He came up with water tight theory that Celtics all black away strip from a few seasons ago was a tribute to the IRA and was also in response to that questionable "orange" strip we brought out a while back.... Where do you start?

Exactly but I fear there an element that revel in this insular POV. Just check some of the posts on FF and RM for evidence

No-one like us, we don't care.....? Mmmm..never been my favourite song TBH and as much as I've almost puked at some of the brown nosing antics of our "love me, love me" neighbours from the east, I have never see that a reason for some "fans" to almost go out of the way to make sure everyone hates us.

Caught on camera: contract issues at heart of tax case
Max Rebo's Big Blue Nose replied to ian1964's topic in Rangers Chat
They've set a deadline to recieve all documents? FFS, I thought they already had these and were already looking into this? Surely if they are still waiting for documents reagrding this case, we're in for another couple of months of hearsay and uncertainty? (at least...) -

If even if we don't take everyhting on at face value, you have to admiot there are too many loose ends and strange coincidences regarding the takeover, Ticketus and the whole admin process in general -

Let's face it, there have been too many questions about these guys since day one. The fact that we discovered that Whyte walked down Edmiston Road and through the front door of Ibrox with a D&P employee should have sent off alarm bells when D & P were sanctioned to be administrators -
Players leaving could be the least of our problems at the mo TBH.

2 names from Greens consortium revealed
Max Rebo's Big Blue Nose replied to Max Rebo's Big Blue Nose's topic in Rangers Chat
Not to read too much into this interview but these comments are somewhat concerning.... "One guy is Jude Allen who is an Indonesian investor and the second is a lawyer from the Middle East Mazen Houssami" One guy? Is this the best terminology for an investor in our club? He sounds like he doesn't know them from Adam? "We have visitors today at the club we had visitors yesterday - all of whom are interested in becoming investors. That's great news for me because first of all it shows there is a belief that this club can be rescued" Again this seems troubling... there is a belief that this cluB can be saved...? A wee bit of a step down from the bullish comments from last week. He sounds like he's making this up as well as trying to gain investors as he goes. -
CHARLES GREEN has revealed two of the names involved in the Sevco consortium taking over Rangers - and he has insisted that interest is growing daily.Speaking exclusively to RangersTV, Mr Green has identified Indonesian businessman Jude Allen and Middle Eastern lawyer Mazen Houssami as two of the key protagonists along with a Singapore Family Trust who are part of founding group of investors. However, since the takeover news broke last weekend Mr Green has been inundated with requests to join the consortium He told Blues News: "I can now provide two names, as I have clearance to do so on their part, of investors who are on the list. "One guy is Jude Allen who is an Indonesian investor and the second is a lawyer from the Middle East Mazen Houssami. "These two are very prominent in their areas. It's a great opportunity for us to build on their experience, their connections in those regions because we want to take the Rangers brand into these areas. "There are other names but for today they are two very prominent businessmen who are backing the football club "And in addition to these two previous names there is also a Singapore family trust. "The reluctance to reveal investors initially was because a lot of these investors are offshore trusts and individuals who didn't want their name in the press and media because they, like everyone else in the world, have been watching the Rangers story unfold through the media since February and indeed before that and these people are not publicity seekers. "They want to invest in the football club for the right reasons and the other problem is that we have got an extensive list of interested parties and that list is growing daily. "Since the announcement was made we have had a number of people who were not in my original contact list and some of those are local people that we are speaking to. "We have visitors today at the club we had visitors yesterday - all of whom are interested in becoming investors. That's great news for me because first of all it shows there is a belief that this club can be rescued. "We read articles that the forecasts for the club were misleading. To be honest we have looked at these figures and we have made our own assumptions and we have made our own assessments and we believe we understand this club. "Perhaps egotistically we believe we have the ability to resolve these challenges. We have viewed historical numbers as a guideline and we have to set our own budgets. "Unfortunately for us we don't know if the CVA will go through. We don't know if we can get the transfer embargo overturned and these two things to have a material impact on budget. "So we've approached this with complete flexibility and we have approached it on the basis that this not a one-year or two-year deal, this is a five-ten year plan. "So I have to balance which of the investors are going to be best for this football club. "I can assure fans that it is very easy to raise money, even in this financial market we are in, for an institution like Rangers. Raising the real best type of money that's going to help us expand the club, develop the club in the Asian markets."

If this goes tits up, I'm sure the press will be critical of the Gers fans for buying into him. Just like they did with a certain Craig Whyte. Remember we were the idiots that were delirious that this "billionaire" was on board... Can anyone remind me who it was that labelled this clown a "billionaire" in the first place? I also have seen the press being critical of the Gers fans as according to them, we (almost to a man) carried Whyte shoulder height down Edmiston Road prior to the Hearts game when he completed his "takeover". I do recall some lukewarm cheers but I remember feeling this was based on relief more than actual delight. They do like to paint a good picture when their own lofty claims backfire on them don't they?....

Didn't he also believe he could speak to aliens......
-
I was thinking about this the other day to. Why state that you've gathered 20 million at this stage? Surely that is only going to have the creditors stroking their chins....
-
Let's be honest. We have zero reason to trust Green or anyone after the last year or so. Despite any "promises" given by Green (or anyone for that matter) I think we should take everything said over the duration of this shambles with a truckload of salt. I wont make any judgements until we actually know what is happening with this guy (or whoever). Saying one thing to appease fans (who will be forking out for season tix after all...) and doing it are two completely different things. If we have learned anything from the last year it must be that talk is very, very cheap.... I note with interest that the Press have somewhat diluted their OTT take on this... From C Green being our "new owner" last week (he obivously wasn't) he is now being labelled a potential owner...
-
Mmmm...not sure about this... Call me defeatest but the events of the last year or so have left this Gers fan close to chucking it. The wreck that Murray and Whyte have left behind has changed the footballing landscape forever and even if we get back on a even keel, you really have to ask "what is the point?" We were hated by all and sundry before and now after all this sheite we will be fighting to maintain membership in a league whose fans and governing body detests us beyond reason. Is it really worth it?

This seems to be doing the rounds? Does anybody have any idea what the agenda might be? Maybe a plan regarding the appeal of the embargo?

Rangers FC & Integrity: Truth Unvarnished
Max Rebo's Big Blue Nose replied to andy steel's topic in Rangers Chat
Sporting Integrity? Don't make me laugh. There is no such thing as Sporting integrity. Especially in football for goodness sakes. IMO this "popular" phrase is merely a smokescreen used by our morally unblemished friends from the East. You know who I mean? Those guardians of the moral high horse. In their race to get to an even higher moral high ground they are using every device in the book to have a pop at Rangers. I have to admit, I like to think I'm a level headed and balanced guy at the best of times but the opportunistic moral crusading of Liewell and their fans makes me sick TBH. -
Scum fans climb gates at Ibrox
Max Rebo's Big Blue Nose replied to 54andcounting's topic in Rangers Chat
There was a guy on the radio the other day (can't remember what station) spouting about how great the Celtic fans were after their wee forgotten title party and he mentioned this thing about the Thai Tms and in round about way was trying to make a barbed point about sectarianism etc. He said something about that poor lad Raymond Gormley and how he hoped people wouldn't suffer from sectarian attacks in a modern Scotland anymore. Not one of the broadcasters/pundits mentioned that this poor lad died at the hands of Celtic "fans" and it wasn't sectarian at all -
Even if control has been handed over from Whyte, Green is not the new owner. He's surely only the guy fronting the consortium that are looking for control?
