  1. Malcolm Murray had reservations? I'll bet he did, which is probably one of the reasons they wanted rid of him. The pre IPO and IPO cash surely cannot be counted as a commercial contract in any normal sense. They were capital raising exercises. Also, he was handsomely rewarded in 1p shares for his efforts there. The Edmiston House and Albion purchases are also pretty tenuous as they were asset purchases without any contractual income attached. This is indeed Glasgow and we know a chancer when we see one.
  2. As they say, you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone.
  3. I think you bring much needed balance to the "Green's a snake oil salesman", orthodoxy on here. It's healthy to ask others to justify their stance and to challenge robustly where views are not backed up adequately by fact or logic. I like the way you do so calmly and respectfully and the forum is a better place for your contributions. You are wrong about Green though...
  4. So you were known as "The Judge" eh? I'm The Judge, jury and executioner...
  5. Frankie, you hit the nail of the head when you described the lack of recent engagement with fans as a disgrace. As I said on the Green is back thread, both factions need to start treating us like adults and giving us information rather than PR statements (or silence).
  6. He'll wonder how badly the share price will be affected on Monday.
  7. All over, we're out.
  8. That's the point - you and I both know that's what's going on and why, so the prospective buyers need to say something about their vision for the Club to the fans and Green and Co need to treat us as adults and drop the "Rangersitis" guff.
  9. Green is a salesman, a front man for others whose motives are simply to maximise their return and who have no emotional connection or loyalty to the club at all. I don't trust him or his backers, but I was prepared to judge them by their deeds rather than their words. In that respect, he deserves credit for the IPO, but some of his public comments were crass and childish. I wasn't sad to see him go, but equally, I didn't think his dealings with Whyte should have surprised us - the conman (Whyte) was conned, Green played dirty with him and didn't tell us the truth. Some of the outrage about having met Whyte was amusing and naive. However, now that he's back, let's at least be a little more skeptical about his sound bites as you say GS. If the league isn't enough for McCoist this year, why was it sufficient to trigger a £350k bonus for Green last year? In all of this, both sides are taking the fans for idiots. Ahmed & Co are trying to protect their return prior to their exit (they will be long gone in 12 months and want to trouser as much cash as possible in the process). Murray et al want to buy the Club, but don't want to stump up the cash at the going rate, so want to talk down the price. We are not stupid you know, and no amount of snake oil or badge kissing will fool us. Rangers fans deserve and should demand more influence in the running of our club and if anyone wants to win my heart or mind, I want to hear about that first and the current financial position second. The time for belicose PR is over...
  10. I wonder whether those requesting the General Meeting think they have any chance of winning a vote, or whether they are simply raising their standard in public to rally others to their cause?
  11. Someone's playing Bill like a fiddle.
  12. Well, a single goal in 6 games so far this year is barely a trickle, far less a haemorrhage.
  13. Fair comment re goals for (so far). A completely new striking partnership is always going to take a while to really click. I'm pretty happy about the progress in defence though.
  14. Found out? We lost one goal tonight away from home against an English Championship side. We've also recruited two fullbacks and a goalkeeper who are more than adequate for the third tier of Scottish football. At least one centre half will follow, but until then, it's hardly a surprise to see Jig getting game time in that position.
  15. Most fans who invested in the initial floatation took a leap of faith based on emotion rather than informed financial analysis. However, if the board need to ask for additional capital any time soon, they'll find that fans will demand a track record of promises kept and a credible and transparent plan. There would be fewer grumbles about salaries / share options / bonuses if there were fewer off the record briefings and more transparent progress updates.
  16. I can accept us paying good money for the right people (although i've no idea whether Mather meets that criteria) and the Club running at a trading loss in the short term, but only if it's part of a well thought out business plan. The share prospectus outlined how the floatation cash was to be used (albeit in fairly vague terms) and I for one would like to know what proportion has been invested versus simply consumed as working capital. To that end I'd like to see the annual accounts sooner rather than later (within 3 months of the financial year end) and I'd like them to be accompanied with some substantive details about the size of any monthly trading losses, the Club's plans to eliminate them and most crucially of all, an honest assessment of how much additional capital is required over the life time of that plan. Over to you Messers Mather / Stockbridge. Time to start earning your money.
  17. Not a mention of Rangers buses on the BBC website, although they do say it was deliberate. No surprises on either count.
  18. I may be in a minority of one here, but I'd be quite happy to play a pre-season game against Hearts. It would allow us to show that we have the class which others lacked when dealing with us last year.
  19. What does it say about the standards we set at our club, or the values it has traditionally stood for, when you have a guy who went to jail for being dishonest? How can we trust him to put the club's interest before his own? He may or may not be a reformed character, but this doesn't pass my own personal fit and proper person test and I'm deeply unhappy.
  20. I think there is one too many asterisks in that phrase...
  21. Sure, we all know the answer, but asking the question highlights their hypocrisy and our refusal to act in a similar fashion.
  22. The honour would be in asking "why us and not Brechin, who are the next in line based on footballing merit".
  23. So, the choice would be between greater income and a year off the journey back to the top, versus abandoning the SFL2 clubs and having every anti-Rangers supporter baiting us forevermore that reconstruction was merely an establishment device to help us. I'd prefer that we decline any such invite, and cite our reason as "Sporting Integrity", given that the highest placed non-promoted team in SFL2 last season was Brechin and therefore they should have been asked, not us. I'm sure the irony of that would not be lost on anyone.
  24. Another administration would be an unmitigated disaster for the Club and would leave fans with even less say in the fate of the Club than they have at the moment. It's right that the Board should be made to realise that our support is not happy at the current state of affairs and that by purchasing individual match tickets rather than Season books, we can make it difficult for them to take us for granted, but anyone advocating that we starve the Club into another admin scenario to force a change of ownership / control should reflect very carefully on the potential consequences first.
