The stats suggest Lundstram is better as the deeper of the two 6s, and let another be the ball carrier, like Diomande or Raskin.

Thanks for the stats Rousseau.  I don't read Ibrox noise.  He is very negative about the club and individuals and we get enough of that from our enemies but I have my doubts he is a Rangers fan.

  2. At one point during the game Diamonde was the only Rangers player in the midfield surrounded by  2 banks of 4 Benfica players ahead and behind him and he looked, quite rightly, terrified and of course lost the ball.  He was isolated as the only man standing on a number of occasions last night and I certainly wouldn't blame him for struggling at times.

It says above that Barisic has 3 assists to Ridvan's 1. (I was just pointing out the xA from Ridvan is pretty good - he can't score the goals for them).

The stats would agree there's not much between them - if we ignore the style difference.

That's fair. The criticism of Barisic can be over the top.

I personally prefer Ridvan: the fact that the stats show he's in-line with Barisic - if I'm bring harsh - at only 22 years old, suggests to me he must be first choice. (I'd revise that if we sign someone else.)

Ridvan has played the equivalent of 5 games more.

And speaking of tomorrow, I'd throw Wright in there again. Sometimes people need quality around them to reach their own next level. We hardly played Ridvan for any longer spell and soon people started to bemoan his lack of quality, height, you name it. Now, having get a hatful of games under his belt, no-one wants Borna back. I am not saying that Wright is another Ridvan, but play him with the quality people we field now, and he may very well deliver more than Lammers, or Matondo. He was working his socks off and had some really good moments while he was on, so send him out there at Dens and see what happens. IMHO, we could easily spare us one CM/DM over there and put one more attacker on and lay the game to rest early on. We have to manage our squad for the next few weeks, given all the injuries, so utilize it according to the opposition.

    Common sense.  Well said.

With our finances and the squad size we need playing two games most weeks, there will always be some Wrights and Matondos.

I agree.  I would keep Wright but not Matondo for his injury record and the money he is on.

  6. I couldn't fault the players last night.  Everyone gave everything and we can't ask for more.  We were beaten by a better team.  Had our injury situation been different I think we may have won it.  I kept hoping right until the final whistle.  The manager and players deserve enormous credit.  Some were dead on their feet but the manager was constrained in what he could do because of a lack of fit players.

  7. Very close between Tav, Lundstram and Souttar but went for the latter.   That was the Souttar I hoped we were getting when we signed him.  All 3 were outstanding tbh.

  8. It is a storm in a tea cup.  How many arrests are made at football matches per the thousands who attend?  Just stop the stupid songs and we have nothing to fear.  We have so any good Rangers songs.  I agree the Hibs fans have spat out the dummy but we must be smart about it too.

  9. Hibs better be careful with what they wish for with strict liability.  Celtic fans are the worst of the lot and the club know it.  It won't be supported by the other clubs nor should it.

Agree with PoohBear, far too much shit being sung by all clubs fanbase.

singing "glory glory what a hell of a way to die" the other night when a player was in serious distress i found most disgusting.

I didn't hear that.  Someone from the club needs to have a word about that.  As for the rest of it, some of the songs do need to stop but the hypocrisy of Hibs makes it sound like sour grapes.  Throwing obstacles, including a sharp knife, on to the pitch is reprehensible.  I said the same about the idiot who threw the glass from the Copland.  As for scribbling 66 on all the seats, that is worse than a hurty song.

If we get over this slip in form then we can do the jam tarts easy peasy 👍🏻

We need a quality number 10 linking the midfield and forwards.  Injuries have put paid to that.  I think we will likely huff and puff until some of our more creative players are back.
