My Dad rates the 1962 side as best ever, the 1st side I remember was from 1974.
Read alot about the 1970 and know they are highly rated!
I think your dad could be right.

Could be. Better than the 1962 side? Maybe.

Thats all good news. More so on Sterling. How Beale didnt even play him is beyond me
On the occasions when Beale did pick Sterling, I don’t remember much praise for him here.

City v Arsenal apart, all three should win every one of these games. A City victory over Arsenal or even a draw and the title goes to Anfield.
On the other hand, things don’t usually work out the way you think they will. If they did, bookies would be paupers.

He did indeed but the Gunners go top.
A draw at Anfield tomorrow and they’ll stay there.

@Uilleam posted this photo in the Match Thread. The original Lisbon Lions, 3-0 for the holidaymakers
I don’t know the chap in the demob suit at the end of the line but from him, Waddell, Gillick, Thornton, Cox, Duncanson, Caskie, Woodburn, McColl, Young, Brown, Shaw (trying to hide so as not to be seen holding a bunch of flowers) and Mr Struth.

Prefer high waisted shorts to necks and arms covered in drawings, holey socks and love heart goal celebrations, any day of the week.
Well said. I think that entitles you to a seat in the Chamber of Old Fogeys.

The media fawned over Dick Advocaat until they discovered that he wasn’t going to fawn over them and possibly worse, was going to be very successful.
