I think its important the club discuss these things with the fans. Information is not only power it also can bring understanding. I had hoped myself to see us spend large amounts in the next two seasons and to be honest would be disappointed if we don't. If FFP does play a role and limits our spending then its imperative we the fans understand the limitations that the club and especially the board will need to operate under.

Transfer Deadline Day: Michael O'Halloran signs until 2020

5 victories out of 9 in the Scottish championship does not indicate to me that the players are good enough, or that we can afford to go on without bring in starting 11 players right now. If we want to secure promotion early and with minimal risk we need to improve, drawing with the likes of morton and livingston and being thoroughly beaten by falkirk is not good enough. Our playing philosophy has changed our transfer dealings have changed but our standards should never drop. People keep mentioning we are on a journey that's all good and true but on a journey you cant stand still you need to keep going, in our case we need to keep improving the standard of player we are bringing in. Its good to see us acting quickly and identifying our targets and getting the players the manager wants . Lets just hope the targets are good enough to do us for the coming campaign and further helping us hit the heights the fans will rightly demand. Hopefully we stump up some cash and get these guys in now, we are crying out for a defensive mid and hopefully crooks will fill that role. -

How do you figure we don't need them? A few weeks ago we couldn't beat Morton at home! -

I dont know if that's a really clever play on words or a typo! but you could be right all evidence has been burned! -
Recently there has been a clamour from fans to see the club spend some cash (include myself in that) in the transfer market. With the well covered comments from King stating he expects us to spend x amount over 5 years causing a bit of a back lash it got me to wondering can we spend big even if we wanted to? If we expect to play in Europe in the next 3 seasons does FFP regulations not stop us from doing so? Or are we free of such concerns? From my limited knowledge teams are allowed to spend no more than 5 million euros more than they earn over the 3 year period. Allowance is made for a director covering the cost directly part of uefa rule..... From June 2015, UEFA updated its regulations (as it does from time to time for all regulations) to address some specific circumstances with the aim to encourage more sustainable investment while maintaining control on overspending. Situations addressed include clubs requiring business restructuring, clubs facing sudden economic shocks and clubs operating with severe market structural deficiencies in their operating region. For the first time the work of the CFCB is potentially expanded to include clubs not yet qualified for UEFA competitions but who anticipate and want to participate at some stage in the future. 3) Are clubs no longer allowed to have losses? To be exact, clubs can spend up to €5million more than they earn per assessment period (three years). However it can exceed this level to a certain limit, if it is entirely covered by a direct contribution/payment from the club owner(s) or a related party. This prevents the build-up of unsustainable debt. The limits are: • €45m for assessment periods 2013/14 and 2014/15 • €30m for assessment periods 2015/16, 2016/17 and 2017/18 In order to promote investment in stadiums, training facilities, youth development and women’s football (from 2015), all such costs are excluded from the break-even calculation. http://www.uefa.com/community/news/newsid=2064391.html so my questions to those with a better knowledge of these things is........ 1, if the 3 bears or king give us loans to shares to cover transfer costs in the next 2-3 years would it be deemed okay by Uefa? Is that free and clear? 2. Would our poor revenue streams from merchandise play a part in that assessment? 3. Would those poor revenue streams mainly merchandise bite us in the ass by limiting what we can spend? 4. Is there any monetary limit we could not exceed spending in a calender year? Every time transfers are discussed it ends up in either a king co argument or about not needing any players that cost >x amount. Can we please stay away from those areas and someone just explain if indeed FFP rules would need to be taken into account when we look to spend in the not so distant future.

Haha:laugh: At least he is championship fodder! His Real Madrid background sucked me in! only wondered if we will go for him, he perfectly fits Warburtons sought after mould and usually when a player asks for a termination its with his next move already organised. edit* just seen he is signing for a Belgian side -

kind of why I thought a couple might plead guilty as it would reduced their sentence. -

I would love to see how many touches zalelem has against law or shiels. I bet he has 3 to 4 times as many. Hes always involved and finding positions to recieve the ball. Shiels can be absent for 30 minutes at a time. Law has been far better this year and hides less but still doesnt get involved near enough -

would love to see us take a punt on highly rated lower league players the calibre of those previously stated but we arent. We havent went near one top player from any of those leagues. the type of gem mentioned would be in the top 10 rated players in league 2 or in things like the team of the year league 2 /1 etc. Those are the players you can pick up for a song compared to what they can be sold for once their ability has been proven at a higher level -

not ignoring it mate just disagree. I think its a massive gamble to bet on the squad as it is to win this league comfortably. Couple of injuries to key players and I would seriously worry. The last two results have been good but the previous 3 months before that have been iffy with late goals seeing us through in a lot of games. We are crying out for a def mid and another striker. The two boys who warburton obviously deems good enough for the premier fit the bill and for a relatively small outlay. Will be very surprised if we dont make an offer after they sign pre contracts. -

if Waghorn and Tavernier get injured are you still as confident in the squad? Im not, not even close. the consequences from not going up far outweigh the cost of signing a couple of players for 500k or so. If not even confident the squad can do it without injuries by any sort of margin that is not a massive gamble. -

So its impossible for us to reach the Scottish cup final and face them? Even if we got beat we could still qualify for Europe a long shot but possible. Any player signing should be for 3 years minimum by the latter stages we should be in European football. Anyone know if the ftp rules effect us? Can we pay transfer fees? Haha should have read ffp -

On the fence with these ones. Not exactly excited but also not overly upset bit meehhh to be honest. If a deal is to be done would like to see it happen this month to help with promotion push rather than save a couple hundred grand by waiting -
