  1. I'm agreeing with @Bluedell

It's not conclusive that the Celtic CB is definitely about to kick the ball, certain not clear and obvious, and if it were given against Celtic then we would never hear the end of it.

But, we were poor from the first minute and we've not capitlised on a Celtic team bereft of confidence and half their team.

The fans have lost faith with Beale. We have not played well at all this season except for a brief 20mins last week at Ross County.

Last season's deficiencies are still there, we gift Celtic goals and our misfiring strikers are missing open goals.

I don't see how he turns it round, the fans are sick of the excuses and constantly being behind Celtic. Our board has allowed this malaise to manifest and it feels like it's become our identity now, weak, pathetic and meek. Celtic should have been there for the taking but we started deep, let their bombscare CBs have all the time in the world and let McGregor dictate play.

2nd half, we were a bit better but still didn't play well, despite missing open goals or forcing Joe Hart to make some saves.

Dessers, on another day, he would've got 2 assists so I'm not 100% against him but he is playing as a No9 and the amount of times he's not in the 6 yard box as a cross flashes across goal!

  2. Feared the worst, and so it transpired.

PSV are miles ahead of us on and off the park and we drew the worst possible draw available to us.

Last two summer windows have not been good enough and that's why we are where we are.

Massive pressure on MB on Sunday now. Failure to win will have massive consequences for his tenure amongst a sizable portion of the support.

It is expected that players get slight injuries in pre season training, they'll be working harder on fitness, and have theoretically just had a couple of weeks off. Anyone who trains for any sport will understand this.

    Balogun is a bonkers signing.

Beale has said in the past that LB is a good addition in the changing room and I can't believe that he's going to relying on LB other than for cover for one we are bit short.

  4. Very impressed by Cantwell, but most folk around me (who hadn't left yet) were dumbstruck when the announcer said the sponsor's MOTM was Ben Davies.

Not that Davies had a bad game but it was quite clearly Cantwell.

  5. 1 hour ago, the gunslinger said:

i thought bassey was the best player on the park not just our MOTM. He really is a find

Though i fully understand why a celtc player got it.

He was at fault for their first goal.

I find him and Balogun to be quite erratic at times. Bassey is young and will get better but his delivery isn't as good as Borna's and I felt Barisic coming on mightve given us more attacking options, in the second half.

  6. I don't have an issue with this at all.

Bisgrove and his counterpart, over at Snake Mountain, have obviously been tasked with generating as much money as possible.

Whether we (or they) like it or not, the "Old Firm" brand is, quite possibly, the biggest asset in the Scottish market...

I'd bet, they'll see how this goes and, if it goes well, then they'll roll it out elsewhere (USA/Canada) and possibly Asia, should the market be there for it.

  7. I think we need a bit perspective here. In the immediate aftermath of this terrible result, the knives will be out for the manager but in the cold light of day his sacking would be an overreaction.

If we were to get rid of him, who would we bring in? Do you think that a new manager 4 weeks before the start of the season is a good decision? What about the players he has brought in?

The manager needs to be given a chance to see what he can do in the league. A good start and this European nightmare will be dismissed as a lesson learned. The pressure is on Pedro now. It's essential that we win the opening game at Motherwell and follow it up with 2 home victories so that we can breathe again. 9 points under our belt and a team gelling will bring back our belief. A bad start and a stuttering team doesn't bear thinking about.

Maybe I'm naive and/or in denial but I remain optimistic.

He's not a new manager, he's been in the job 4/5 months and we've seen NO improvement whatsoever.

Normally, a new manager gets in and you see an immediate improvement from the players - this didn't happen. Name one player who has improved since Pedro got the gig because I can't. In fact, I can name a few who got markedly worse.

4 weeks is plenty of time to get in a McInnes or even a McLeish or Smith type to get the basics right before we see another nightmare seasona unfold before us.

One thing is clear, he's not got it at all, his record before coming to Ibrox wasn't particularly impressive and now he's blotted our History with 3 of the worst results we've ever had.

Struggle to see any optimism at all.

  8. I still think he's a good coach, with good ideas that can work for us, but he really needs to get results now.

We'll need to line up a few friendlies.

Sorry, but based on what exactly? He's done absolutely zero since he's come in.

We've been stuffed at Ibrox by Celtic, 5-1 going on 10, we've lost a 27yo record vs Aberdeen, he's not managed to convince our best player to sign a contract to stay at the Club, he's now presided over the worst result in our history and you think he's a good Coach.

Sorry, but you can't see the woods for the trees. He's tactically clueless, the players are obviously not playing for him and the season is a right off if he stays in charge.

We have 5 weeks before the league starts, we need to tell Pedro to go and get in a Manager who understands the Club and commands the players respect.

  9. I thought Kiernan was good today. He's quite frustrating though: at times he can be brilliant, blocking, intercepting passes and can be physical in the air; then at other times he can look distinctly average, almost amateur. Consistency is key for him. If he can add it to his game we have a good player. I think that can be applied to the squad as a whole.

That's what I think about nearly all of our players. Rob, Waghorn, Tav et al all lack consistency, confidence and belief. If we can make them feel 10ft tall then they'll be better players.
