  1. More to the point, their auditors would likely raise a comment and/or qualify their accounts if appropriate provisions had not been made in relation to such a significant liability. I haven't looked at the disclosures in their accounts to see what they are saying, but its obvious why they are preserving cash. Its also obvious why none of the blogosphere are commenting on this.
  2. I bought the original corn flakes and their new chocolate ones at the weekend as they were on offer from Tesco. And now this deal is announced. I'm sure it was just a coincidence.
  3. Lunny for me, but Butland and Yilmaz deserve a mention
  4. Special mention to Butland who kept them out at some moments that could have changed the momentum of the game.
  5. Quite. Doesn’t decide the match but at some point, something like that will and it’ll be a season defining game for some team.
  6. Looked very tight. And the replay presented didn’t clear it up any
  7. (See if this works again) Could do with another just to make sure…
  8. To be fair to the board, many (including myself) were calling for them to back the manager with some funds this window. So even if the quoted numbers are the total value of the deal, I'm pleased to see this deal happening. Crucial he lands and makes a quick impact
  9. Which, conveniently, is exactly how they've played it to this point.
  10. They should only step in if there’s an unresolved dispute, which there is. But we know how this will go… it’ll end up with whatever the other half of the old firm want to happen, and nothing less.
  11. If nothing else, it was encouraging to see a few players coming back from injury.
  12. The speed and intensity of the game now creates its own challenges. @Bluedell's point stands however.
  13. There have always been players that seem to be unable to get out of bed without tweaking a hammy. eg. Darren "Sicknote" Anderton from the 90s. But in any case, look at the number of playing careers that can continue post knee op. We probably would have had wee Durranty back in the first team in 6 months if he had the Simpson tackle happened tomorrow.
  14. I thought it was an encouraging performance from Dowelll considering he hasn't played for a while. A welcome boost to our midfield options. So he gets my vote this time
  15. Went Sterling too, but as much for his impact in recent weeks when we've needed someone to step up. Good timing young man!
  16. Last night confirmed my view that the Board need to back the manager with some reasonable funds in January. The prize money will be handy but I wouldn't be surprised if we see a share issue in the coming week or two.
  17. Hard not to agree with Sakala's view that he could at least have been allowed the chance to say goodbye and to train with the squad, even if he wasn't part of the manager's plans. Its a harsh environment though, and freezing players out is probably more common than we realise, otherwise players might not be incentivised to direct their agents to get them a move and could well sit there running down their contract but with little chance of getting regular minutes.
  18. Butland for me. His saves weren't spectacular per se, but he was in the right places at the right times to help us see the game out.
  19. I got those, but I didn't understand what you meant about increasing our financial superiority over Celtic...
  20. I think we can all understand that finances are tight but scepticism is understandable, especially given we have been told for 2 x AGM's in a row that this is being worked on and is a priority.
  21. Good news. Now to kick on, young man!
