  1. He's not beyond criticism when it's done in a constructive manner but there are those who appear to want him to have a bad game, and are "reluctant" to admit it when he has a good one.

"Beyond criticism? " lol zelalem and Kenny Miller get slaughtered every game lol. Miller's goal v Morton was described as a tap-in? And he laid on barrie's excellent strike and won motm and a certain fan on here still wanted him slung lol...

  2. I was at the game today and as time went on things got tense!

However round about the same time King scored I noticed Falkirk fans (a good number of them) charging the Rangers fans at the bottom of the Govan Front taking a number of stwards to hold them back.

Not sure what made them charge, but Rangers fans did not move.

I've not seen this reported in any of the press so far and was looking for opinions as to whether this will just be ignored as it was Falkirk fans charging Rangers fans and not the other way about?

A falkirk fan asked a steward to inform the linesman to inform the ref that rangers fans put a clenched fist up to them when we scored as a result the SFA have banned 100 fans for the next game against killie....

  3. I don't see why everyone is panicking? Personally I've always said I'd like to see an out and out striker in but aren't we the team who sit proudly at the top of the league five points in front with a massive goals advantage? I don't see the magic hat going anywhere if he didn't have faith in the board he simply wouldn't be here. So get the negative thoughts out your nappers I've no doubts whatsoever the funds will be there for next season....

  4. Just think what he could have been doing....if he had stayed!!!

I spoke to to telfers dad at murraypark when he was with us and he said charlie wanted to move on as he wasn't getting first team football. Ally assured him that would change as he thought highly of him. He put him on the subs bench to quiet him up. Needless to say Charlie never got look in and the rest is history. Telfer was our MOTM against hearts in the youth cup final win at st mirren and stood out like a sore thumb...

  5. Looking back, one of the few positive things the old regime (board and football operation) did was to give McKay a 5 year contract or he'd already be elsewhere. His excellent form this season will certainly make his next contract heavier and I hope he gets it signed with us asap. At this moment in time, I'd rather have McKay with a new contract than sign O'Hallaron.

I never thought he'd make it. He just struck me as another frail Scottish lad who would drift but it now seems as if he has a steely determination and levels of application that suggest the real possibility of a good career to come. One thing that stands out for me is his bravery to keep showing for the ball, no matter the circumstances of the game, mood of the fans or if he is having a mediocre/poor game.

He also chooses his moments to try and get by defenders and isn't as predictable as some widemen. Then there is his balance which was illustrated the other night slicing through Morton and scoring the second goal with his right foot.

We could go on about composure, great goals etc but what is important for McKay now is that he keeps looking to improve in every way possible, that he develops up to the 'next level' and that the footballing operation at Rangers have modernised in a way to facilitate this.

    edit

And regards the last point,......that the likes of Liam Burt and their advisors see an excellent footballing operation that will assist them in their career and make them more likely to want to join or stay at Rangers.

I'd rather have gave Liam Burt the chance than bringing Forrester up for six months but that's just my opinion...

  6. I'm obviously a newbie & I am trying to stay off the McCoist thing as I'm sure it has been discussed to death. Make no mistake however, he IS the worst manager in our history, if not THE worst football manager in history. He humiliated us in every competition we entered with the exception of Div 2 league (Super Ally yeah) & imo the Malmo result was the beginning of our downfall. Things got worse from there on & off the park & he squandered millions in transfers, players wages & talent, not to mention the millions he received in wages & shares. Do everyone a favour & don't try to defend him. Boo hiss rotten eggs tomatoes :-)

Where are you getting he's the worst manager in our history? Weren't you born in the le guen era? You say he hummilated us in every competition, didnt the players not have a hand in that? As a manager he will always have going through the league undefeated on his CV but as you say its been discussed to death on here but weve moved on now...

  7. Had to try to shut up an old codger sitting behind us at Livi game constantly moaned about Wallace,he was told to support his team.

Personally I hate the booing as if it's going to make them play better and for fans who say they hate rangers players while they are still at the club baffles me. Ive never hated any rangers players past and present and in all my years supporting my team and I've seen a right good few haddies but not once would I jeer them. I remember many years ago I was at ibrox and big Lorenzo got booed everytime he touched the ball, it was horrific...

  8. And I thought it was his technical ability that would be his handicap. I don't think he would be up to our passing game. He played terrible against us and had a hand in some of the goals. His hardness in the tackle is his biggest asset.

Wouldn't it have been down to warbs to change his style of play Pete? Look what he's done to mckay. Don't get me wrong cos I'm not saying he should have been kept warbs cleared out everyone with the exception of waldo...

  9. I did. But I failed to see the significance of it. Did you say it just for the sake of saying something ? Did he need to be our best player in order to be a better option that Wilson ? Or just our best defensive player ?

Craig you asked me if I saw where you said McGregor was our best defensive and I was only anwering you, I wasnt saying it for the sake of saying something. McGregor was a better right back than centre back...

  10. As T4C says, we released McGregor, which is a far cry from "letting him go to Hibs".

He didn't fit in with Warburton's philosophy. Did I agree with it at the time ? Nope, as I thought McGregor was our best defensive performer last season... but his style of play (not the best footballer....) didn't suit what MW wanted so best to let him go if he doesn't fit what you want.

He was our best player Craig by a mile at least McGregor could defend at right back and what I've witnessed tav can't....

  11. That was the year we got whacked 4....0 in the cup final. Colin Stein was banned after being sent off in a league game against Clyde. Alex Ferguson took his place

    His last game for us....

  12. 'The failure' as such was a not altogether unusual one for Rangers back in the relevant period.

It was that we didn't have a good track record for developing good young players from the Academy and turning them into regular and effective first team players. To this you could supplement the 'charge' of not improving many players.

This is hardly exclusive to Rangers and lists could be made for the vast majority of relatively big clubs.

What we currently have is a desperate and often inaccurate media sensing a growing momentum regards Rangers, transfer policy, finance etc and as we go into the last week or so of the window it'll only increase. This particular article goes off on a strange tangent that is not really relevant at this moment in time.

Provan, walker and that clown Sutton shouldn't be anywhere near our games when we're on the telly....

  13. I think one of our problems with the "zone 14" stuff in our style is that we don't have players with strong shots. I think Oduwa hardly scored because his shots were about as power puff as you can get - even when he managed to get it on target, but others don't seem to have a daizy cutter in them either and we tend to score from just outside the box when a shot is very well placed - but there are plenty of shots saved which look good, but seem to lack pace. Maybe we need Albertz back as a shooting coach...

Poor Nathan still getting it even tho he's been gone two weeks lol...
