We're normally around the 12/3th ranked league down to a low of around 15/6 at the minute. Does it not make more sense to allow at least the top 16 ranked leagues to have their champs qualify directly and then you have at least half the competitions participants as Champions. Otherwise the title of the competition is a crock. Agree Platini has helped a bit.

I posted that before I read the article where he is repeatedly quoted calling Rangers "we". I'm sure that will go down well too. Sure he can beat the boo boys, ignore it and get on, but a large section will not take to him I suspect.

Think there's a good topic in there with 3 English teams straight into the CL and one (probably) in at QR4 whilst we're on QR3. Now that could be City who haven't played in Europe in donkeys going straight in while we have to play 2 qualifiers. That is bullshit. The champions from the leagues should get automatic with the rest qualifying.

If i'm thinking of the right game ascender he was treated extremely harshly by the ref who pinged him for a freekick every time he challenged for a high ball, and many of them were legitmate and fair challenges. A case of his reputation costing him I feel. The ref should apply the laws of the game and not be swayed by personal prejudice.

Lol, missed that skim reading it. Yet the award barely seems to talk about his award or his season but mroe just Levein talking about his character and maturity. Odd. -
They weren't positive where the trophy was going. So they probably had to have enough medals to cover our or Celtic's squads. Thye must have had about 50 made which was more than enough for our smaller squad.

I'm a bit disappointed, though not surprised, that the BBC did not appear to carry the story of Walter's initial comments on Celtic, yet they did carry the story of Wilson's rebuttal. This subsequently included some of what Smith said, but was written in the best possible light from a Celtic point of view. We all know it was Celtic that caused the ref strike and many pundits and commentators in Scotland were eventually willing to admit as much. All forgotten now though?

Started reading Ian's posts and there were a few posters who's comments I had to single out to comment on. But before long there were just far too many! Absolutely hilarious stuff. Repeated comments that we should be enjoying our day instead of attacking their club and manager. This from the team who have had celebratory shirts often having a go at us rather than focussing on their own team. Most things they accuse us of, they are actually far worse for. Hypocrisy in the extreme. The guy who wanted a list of things they have achieved this season; "bringing the thunder back" or words to that effect? So their number one achievement this season is a mean nothing sound bite from their manager? In fact they have two of those, all getting their pants wet becuase their manager said it was just the beginning. Let him back up those words before being so very proud of being part of the (Adam's?) family. Also the continual efforts to impress the visiting bears that they are not upset and have won something so much more than the biggest prize in Scottish football. What's that then???? -

Strange player who can deliver the sublime or the ridiculous. His (now mostly) past indiscretions on and off field have not helped fans views of him, nor his price tag. Yet he has scored the winning goals that have secured the title these last three seasons. Some record for a much maligned player. Difficult player to appraise and sum up in a few words but has made some big, big contributions to our title run ins in three in a row.
