  1. Not a player that really stood out at Aberdeen as far as I could see. But in our team may fulfil a role that is needed - sit in position, break up attacks and keep the ball moving. Also depends who is selected alongside him. No doubt our midfield is the weakest part of our team.
  2. The draft constitution is due out this month and hopefully that can provide rules and structures to prevent some of this from happening in the future. But next elections are crucial. We need a strong, qualified board that can actually co-operate and work together. I find it bizarre that in a org which has two main activities - buy shares and fund projects - there can be so much internal squabbling and disagreement.
  3. I hope the main message can still be applicable - let's help, support and make a difference where we can. But right now the squabbles and negativity are likely to turn many more people off, possibly for good. An underperforming org is one thing, but a distrusted one is so much worse. And that's what'll happen with accusations and counter-claims. I hope whatever happens next allows C1872 to move forward and the next elections, whether they come now or in September, will decide whether it sinks or swims. There is a real danger of all this potential simply fading slowly into irrelevance.
  4. Club1872 needs a proper constitution in place to hopefully solve the many issues it has been having and to put proper structures and rules in place. It also needs people that are capable and able to actually behave like grown-ups and work together for the greater good. Much of the hassle has been around personalities, egos and people simply not getting along. I have no idea why a proper constitution is only now being drafted up and wasn't in place from the outset (merger was unnecessarily rushed). It's frustrating that an organisation that is a major shareholder in the club and that has thousands of members is being run so amateurishly. It can work, and it can be terrific for our support, but it needs to improve significantly, and fast.
  5. Well, couldn't have timed the article much worse tbh! Was hoping that everyone could pull together for the greater good and start fixing some of the basics to give C1872 a strong foundation that could be built upon on and beyond the next elections. Cannot believe that we're now in a situation where the board effectively has one director. I still remain supportive of the core aims and believe that C1872 can work but it simply can't survive much more of this nonsense.
  6. Thanks for the feedback guys and appreciate the nice comments. I've been a member since RF started because I bought into what it was trying to achieve, and still do. But sitting back now seems like a poor choice when we have something which such great potential that could be fixed and improved. It's great to see that many talented people have already offered their help and I hope the current board can utilise that willingness to the benefit of Club1872. I don't see a snap-election happening but wouldn't be surprised if the Joanne and Laura return and hopefully they can set about fixing the issues raised above and create a solid foundation which can be built on by the next elected board in September.
  7. Thanks for the feedback. After the last couple of weeks, and although the problem has lasted for years, it became an issue that needs to be addressed. On top of the week-to-week issues highlighted we also have to unbelievably huge issues coming up on the horizon - the Whyte court case and the big tax case. If both go the right way we could completely change the narrative surrounding our club, what has happened to it and how we have been treated. Do we have a PR firm capable of doing that? I'd have serious doubts to say the least. Our club takes more hits than most and therefore effective and proactive PR is imperative. Our current approach simply isn't working. I just hope the board can see that.
  8. Whether there's any truth in the story remains to be seen although it baffles me that we haven't signed Miller up for next season. Arguably our best players this season and brings a wealth of experience to the team. We need to keep the few players that are performing & replace others. Allowing Kenny to leave and then try to replace him seems totally backwards to my way of thinking.
  9. If I was an investor putting money in I'd be very nervous allowing MW significant cash to spend. We haven't really improved the squad significantly since summer 2015. In following windows we have wasted in excess of £2.3m on MOH and Garner, as well as others. To sign 5 central midfielders in the summer and then find ourselves scrambling for 2 more on loan in January pretty much sums up the state of our recruitment at the start of the season. An element of bad luck, yes, but how many of 11 signings actually improved us? One? Two? Awful record.
  10. Incredibly frustrating yet again. Dominant in terms of possession but lacking any real cutting edge. How many saves did we force their keeper to make? Not enough. Then we have the typically soft goal we seem to gift in almost every league game, Tav switching off this time. Defence with Wilson and Hill has actually looked surprisingly decent. Certainly the strongest pairing we've had this season if nothing else. Midfield looking slightly better now with Halliday & Holt in there however it seems to be our forward line which isn't functioning. Waggy isn't and won't be a right-winger. We need to realise that. And because of that there is no service or supply to Garner (who also looks to be struggling to adapt to the system). We need to get the forward line right, and quick.
  11. An article which completely misses the point of the Rangers statement I think. Firstly, some of our PR leaves a lot to be desired. It can be a bit scattergun at times. But the club and the fans are absolutely right to highlight that the governing body for Scottish football, the SFA, not only have done nothing about the assaults and threat to the safety of a member club's players and staff, but omit it completely from their charges against Hibs. If the SFA cannot protect players at their own showcase even and cannot hold those to account to were responsible for assults, they quite simply are not fit for purpose.
  12. Will be interesting to see how the elections go. Some talented candidates in there. Hopefully Club1872 will have a strong, independent board and can begin trying to move the organisation forward again. Huge task is simply getting the membership numbers going upwards. When things are going well at the club, it's quite a hard sell. Hopefully one of the first things the board can clarify is just how donations will be used, ie what % is going to shares, what % is going to projects etc.
  13. Good, strong statement from the club. I find it inconceivable to think that the SFA have the power to punish clubs for damaging bloody ad boards but are powerless when it comes to the safety of players who had punches thrown at them. If SFA won't do anything to protect a member club's players, who will? Their inaction is deplorable.
  14. Can only hope the board have some sort of plan to rectify the retail arrangements one way or another. We didn't make any money from RR Ltd anyway so selling no strips this season doesn't really make our position any worse in itself. But we do need to find a way to make money going forward. It is clear that the deal is beyond awful. The liabilities are weighted against Rangers while the financial benefits are in favour of SD. Retail nowadays may not be worth what it used to be but it could have been the difference between a quality CB or striker signing this season for example. Put simply, we're being hamstrung and can't reach our potential while revenue streams are tied up.
  15. It is disgraceful that, given the events of the day, both clubs effectively face similar charges while attacks (attempted or otherwise) or Rangers players and staff is ignored. What kind of message does it send out when the SFA, the governing body of Scottish football, completely ignores player assaults in a national cup final? It's absolutely shocking. When was the last time medals couldn't be presented at a major final for safety reasons? I hope we hear from both Club1872 and indeed Rangers on this matter. It deserves to be highlighted as much as possible.
