Danny, gersnet has never been the busiest of forums and not everyone has RangersTV to view the game. Hence, although it was an important match, discussion was never going to be too widespread. Hopefully once the season starts discussion will increase but most of us quite like the quieter atmosphere in here. It's easier to get your point across, there are less idiots, no timposters and like I do, you can still use other forums if you need to reach a wider audience. I agree it can sometimes be frustrating but if we all keep posting as much as we can interest will rise come the start of the season. We're also all open to ideas and suggestions on how to improve.

IMO, celebrating England getting beat is daft. They're not really our rivals anymore as we're not at the same level as them. Fair enough if the Rous Cup was still contested but that died many years ago. But if other folk want them to lose, I couldn't really care less. I can understand why they would due to the overwhelming hyperbole in the media. However, IMO, the problem isn't with the English, it's with us for putting up with their media during these tournaments. Maybe it would be easier to accept them if we had our own commentators and pundits analysing the game? So instead of Joke and Leckie moaning every other day about it, why don't they put their energies into giving us a real devolved BBC Scotland instead of Motson, Wright and MoN during these events? Same with all the Scots folk who moan about it.

I don't mind this in some respects although obviously JJB are taking this too far. However, if Rangers (and by that I mean JJB) get involved in dubious shirt printing, we're open to further criticism. If people really want other stuff put on their shirt, then they can go elsewhere easily enough.

I think he's only captain because he'll probably be the longest serving player in the team and he's a senior Scottish player. PLG wants to retain our Scottish identity and by making Scottish players that captain that's a good way of doing that. I actually like Rae as a player. He's worked hard to get back to fitness and showed up well towards the end of lats season. After a good pre-season and a few more games under his belt, he could be a useful player to have around. Considering we've not got much money and we've not had a decent box-to-box midfielder for a long while, Rae may be that type of midfielder we need.

Come folks, get yourself along. £20 a ticket really is superb value for a good night out.

Right for the final time. I reckon a few folk are being a bit argumentative when it comes to the Scotland/England thing. Each of you seem to have an undercurrent of trying to provoke each other slightly and it's spoiling what should be a bit of banter and intelligent debate about the issue. Hope you guys don't mind me being candid here but just calling it from a neutral POV. If people can't or won't accept different opinions without provoking others stay out of these threads. That shouldn't need to be the case but when it ends up with folk wanting to leave the place, then what's ignoring a few threads compared to losing the whole forum. In the meantime, I suggest we have no more of these Scotland/England threads as they're causing nothing but bother.

OK, so far the following people have confirmed attendance. Frankie + partner ian1964 + partner rulebritannia + partner delbear gersfem I've still got plenty tickets left if anyone else who was interested still wants to go. As said before, it will be a great night and it's a great chance to meet fellow members as well as enjoy an informal evening in the company of some Rangers legends. Good thing is that you can pay me on the actual night as opposed to ordering online through the RST site. We will arrange to meet beforehand in a nearby pub. del, bmck and stuart will vouch this works well and that a RST evening is simply the best. However, I need to confirm numbers and names for our table, so if you want to go, I need to set a deadline for confirmation and if you pull out after this deadline I would still need the £20 for the ticket as I would have paid for them. Deadline for confirmation will be this Friday night as that's one week before the event which is on the 14th July. PM me is you have any other questions.

As I say, it's more likely that White will be the flagship presenter rather than the local one. And going by what Stewarty said, that might not be this season but next.
