  1. It’s not amusing mate. She calls Rangers sectarian. Should be taking her to court.
  2. BBC Scotland were out in full lennon defence mode this morning on their morning call in. Lenny was the victim according to Celtic fans who were the main ones allowed to phone in (read their forum and the view is the opposite) and the real discussion was that sport should be stopped. It was a shocker.
  3. What we do know is that liquidity is essential. Companies across the UK were /are stretching every credit facility in an unprecedented way. The govt is bailing out to some degree businesses and individuals. Our liquidity which is non-existent is going to depend on operational cost reduction, loans, player sales and fans buying ST. It really isn’t rocket science. It doesn’t matter what blue tinted spectacles we put on it this is a real danger moment for us - and we still have Ashley court case to deal with.
  4. Agree cost cutting inevitable. Goal is to survive rather than stop 9 1/2. Reduce squad. Reduce wages. No new contracts. Sell players (probably at cut price). Do that and we survive. I think we will struggle to stop the scum. They have cash. I think keeping Gerrard and his team is a challenge. The challenge is keeping revenues up for a diminished or possibly non existent product and that’s where football has a slight advantage. Fans will put their hands in their pockets but there will be reduced spending in not just tickets but extras such as food, sponsorship, advertising etc. There will be opportunities for those on the ST waiting list. I think imagination needed for ST sales for example. Distilleries offer casks maturing in 10 years to fund investment. You effectively loan the distillery money and you get a cask when it matures. I think if we regards STs as a loan to the club and each game not played in front of a crowd is paid back to the fan in reduced prices for ST over say 5-10 years fans would respond. I could work this out in detail but can’t be bothered but it would work. Wr will have fans who lose their jobs and sadly lives. We could up the price levels at Ibrox in exchange for sacrificing capacity. Offer more Bar72 type facilities - again using the loan model. However I still think we will come up significantly short compared to the scum. If we survive it is possible this whole crises could kickstart cross border cooperation and that might be the salvation in terms of remaining a major club. We would surely have a strong case during the crises for changing TV income and Rangers TV could be critical to broadcast reduced or closed door games. I think there are loads of opportunities to reduce costs (not having operational costs in match day ironically will save a fortune) but revenue generation is a bigger challenge. What all this indicates is we almost certainly need support and flexibility from UEFA to break some of the rules that restrict us to the economic and administrative cesspit of Scottish football but if we can’t escape then significant changes in the level of product and how we watch it and how we pay for it are inevitable.
  5. I think it’s fine. It’s telling us they will take action if it stands up legally or with external regulator. Not sure what folk are looking for. Death threats?
  6. That would sum things up nicely. Bonus on top of Doncaster’s 388k salary for presiding over a corrupt organisation, fine for those who point out the corruption.
  7. Partick will surely go to court. Reconstruction doesn’t help them. They may be offered a friendly or two of course.
  8. No need to give McLennan anything. He is compromised as being on Dermot Desmond's independent newsgroup payroll and we already offered to discuss it with Doncaster and he ignored us. We have the evidence (Park isn’t an idiot) and we will give it to an independent inquiry. Rangers statement is calling for support from other Board members to take it further. We will go public when we have confidence in the process and support from others. Right now the onus is on the SPFL to get themselves out of this web of corruption and the positions of McKenzie , Doncaster and McLennan are so badly compromised they cannot be part of any clean up. This is comparable to Sepp Blatters desire for internal FIFA bung inquiry into erm... FIFA bungs.
  9. Pretty explosive stuff. Michael Stewart actually talked sense. Clearly implicating Celtic as controlling this corruption.
  10. Given the drip feed and counting of votes over a period up to 5pm and knowing Dundee were going to vote No, did SPFL contact them via Lawell and SPFL Board members excluding Robertson and tell Dundee to hold fire for sweeteners? Looks like from where I’m standing and if so it’s blatant corruption.
  11. I don’t understand Aberdeen’s statement. Hand out cash but SPFL can decide later?
  12. And the Livingston chief executive anti Rangers bigot gets a vote. Season ticket at parkhead. Incredible.
  13. If staff are currently working for the club they cannot be furloughed. Maybe that’s the explanation. Maintenance, ground keeping season ticket prep etc. I’ve no idea. Just a thought.
  14. If staff are currently working for the club they cannot be furloughed. Maybe that’s the explanation. Maintenance, ground keeping season ticket prep etc. I’ve no idea. Just a thought.
  15. Excellent posts 26th but just one correction. If Rangers beat SJ and Celtic twice the difference is 4 points with 18 to play for not 15. Makes handing the league to them even more suspect.
  16. If it is sectarian then you’re 100% correct. The issue you hit on is the public perception. If PR is supposed to be public relations then it seems an unnecessary handicap for the guy to be associated with an organisation that is certainly controversial.
  17. To the effect that I want assurance that we are doing the right things as a club. It’s a football forum where people debate these things.
  18. I don’t have to self evaluate just because I rightly want to wear my colours with pride and without inferred prejudice and want an explanation about an appointment. Lack of self belief? Doubt it.
  19. One thing we are entitled to as fans though is to question any appointments and how they might project us as individual Rangers fans because we walk down the road wearing Rangers scarves and that defines us not only as supporters but also says something about our values in the eyes of others - hopefully and above all sportsmanship and fairness. Rangers have done a massive amount to try and stamp out sectarianism and it’s not always appreciated. It’s a valid question to ask if he represents a sectarian organisation. I appreciate Barca’s insight that they are against marrying ANYONE not of the REFORMED faith. That would lessen my concerns rather than if it was just against Catholics (someone needs to update Wikipedia). For the record I am not a fan of the Catholic Church (or any organised religion) but it’s important to differentiate the theological views of men in pointy hats in Rome from individuals who might just want a bit of comfort in religion, perhaps bereaved or living alone.
  20. Agree with that except pretty certain it’s Catholic Church that stops Catholics from joining the Masons not the Masons. Whereas the OO discriminates only against Catholics. If the OO said it was Protestants only who can marry members I wouldn’t have an issue but it seems to say it’s Protestants, plus everyone and anyone else and even atheists but not Catholics. That’s the definition of discrimination in my book and you’re right it’s pretty surprising in the context of our campaign.
  21. Is the OO discriminating against Catholics? It’s not complicated. What’s your view? Yes or No?
  22. Thanks for the responses. I knew the Catholics were prohibited by their own church from joining the masons because the Catholic Church want to control their people through confession and lodges threaten that. Can a muslim or Hindu marry an OO member or us it just catholic’s prohibited? That’s where I see the problem and which changes it from a protestant organisation (nothing wrong with being that) to an anti catholic organisation (not a great idea in terms of making club globally attractive). Now it’s up to OO what they want to do but if we are associated at a senior mgt level with a leader of an anti-catholic organisation (if that’s what they are) there has to be a question where the associated hassle is offset by the guys abilities to transform and enhance our global image. I guess we will find out.
