  1. Rangers take the spoils and remain unbeaten after easy victory away to Celtic. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=325:celtic-1-3-rangers-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :me: Thought the lad was simply immense and provided the platform for us to remain strong in defence while also supporting the attack at every opportunity.
  2. Rangers so close to beating Spanish cracks as they rue missed chances at bouncing Ibrox Stadium. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=321:rangers-1-1-valencia-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :rf: Although I was as surprised (and worried) as anyone else at the guy's inclusion, I thought he had a superb game at right wing back. He did very well defensively and got more and more dangerous as the game went on in attack; although he should have scored open goal near the end. I'd also like to give a quick mention to Vladimir Weiss. I was worried he'd neglect his defensive duties but he worked tirelessly on the left flank and did well to retain possession as well in tight situations. Overall a great team performance and just a pity we didn't win! :robbo:
  3. Rangers go back to the top of the SPL on goal difference ahead of crucial Old Firm derby. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=317:rangers-4-1-motherwell-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 I thought Sasa Papac had a great game but I'll give it to Naismith for his attacking contribution in the 2nd half. :sn:
  4. Rangers come out the victors after five goal thriller at half-empty Pittodrie. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=309:aberdeen-2-3-rangers-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :sn: for me. Different class again! :robbo:
  5. Rangers cruise to the top of the SPL with comfortable win against Arabs on Saturday. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=305:rangers-4-0-dundee-utd-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 Although his first touch was poor at times and him and Miller often played too close to each other, I felt :nj: was worthy of the award this week for his overall contribution. It really wasn't until the 2nd half where we really put in enough to secure the points but a variety of players did pretty well and I certainly enjoyed Weiss' trickery on the wing. Also thought McCulloch did very well again and he did more than most to try and up the pace of the game.
  6. Rangers take deserved point from Old Trafford after disciplined defensive performance in Manchester. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=302:man-utd-0-0-rangers-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :kb: for me. Thought he was immense throughout the game despite the obvious mental anguish he felt at the Valencia leg break.
  7. Below par Rangers snatch the three points after dreadful away performance in Lanarkshire. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=300:hamilton-1-2-rangers-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=1:articles&Itemid=67 was one of the few players who can hold his head high tonight.
  8. Rangers retain unbeaten start to new season as we enter two week break for international football. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=293:rangers-2-1-st-johnstone-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 Poor performance from the team on Saturday with few individuals really sticking out as MotM contenders. I'll give it to :vw: though as he was on most dangerous player and did create the first goal. Thought Whittaker played well but his final ball and decision-making were very poor.
  9. Ten man Rangers take the spoils with fine second half performance at new Easter Road. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=290:hibernian-0-3-rangers-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 Obviously Miller and Weiss caught the eye through their goals and creative play but once again I thought our best player was :sn: Throughout the game he was full of running, tracked back well and before we started to dominate was one of the few players on the pitch having a good game. The lad started last season in the same way but he looks even quicker and sharper this term. Keep it up wee man!
  10. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=288:rangers-2-1-kilmarnock-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :sn: for me but I think Lafferty, Edu, Bougherra and Miller also played pretty well.
  11. Guys, As always we need people interested in writing match previews (and reviews/player ratings) to let us know in this thread which we'll keep updated throughout the season. Upcoming April/May games are as follows: 4th May - Celtic v Rangers (SPL) - Frankie 9th May - Rangers v Motherwell (SPL) - Stewarty Please post (or pm me) if you'd like to write a preview for any match. Obviously we're open to any articles about most subjects for the main site as well. :spl:
  12. Rangers win their 53rd League Championship with a comfortable away victory in Edinburgh. Congratulations to everyone at the club! http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=263:hibernian-0-1-rangers-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 I'm going to give the award to :lm: this week. I was a wee bit worried upon hearing the team yesterday but to no avail as big Jig stepped back into defence and strolled through the game. Honorable mentions for the central midfield and big Kyle who all worked hard to deliver the spoils!
  13. Rangers now only need two more point from four games to secure the SPL title after routine victory over Hearts. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=259:rangers-2-0-hearts-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :mb: for me. Such an exciting player to watch as he almost becomes an auxiliary winger at times. But he's also very good defensively and his strength in the tackle is superb. Thought Davie Weir was also magnificent - his timing, positioning and reading of the game is second to none.
  14. Rangers are a point closer to the SPL title after a disappointing draw versus ten man Dundee Utd at Tannadice. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=257:dundee-utd-0-0-rangers-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :me: wins the MotM award for me amidst another performance of mediocrity.
  15. Rangers obtain routine victory against defensive Dons as they move thirteen points clear at top of SPL table. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=255:rangers-3-1-aberdeen-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 Few reasonable, if unspectacular performances, last night but I'll give my award to :kl: as he did pretty well, scored a great goal and deserves a lot of credit for not letting the critics affect his confidence.
  16. Rangers sneak past Hamilton at Ibrox Stadium to retain ten point lead at top of SPL. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=249:rangers-1-0-hamilton-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :sw: for me in another turgid display from the bears. Hope those who think the league is done and dusted don't have their confidence misplaced!
  17. St Johnstone put Rangers to the sword in Perth as Rangers suffer first league defeat in four months. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=247:st-johnstone-4-1-rangers-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 Hope the players are embarrassed as I am at giving those marks. :sp: was probably the best of a very bad bunch for me but only because he scored the goal...
  18. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=244: :sn: for me in what was a fine team performance at Tynecastle! :robbo:
  19. Have missed a few of these recently so apologies... http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=230:rangers-3--3-dundee-utd-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :sd: for me in what was a below average term performance yesterday.
  20. My ratings would be: McGregor - 6. Didn't have much to do but looked edgey with the Zemmama shot. Whittaker - 8.Best performance from him this season and topped off with a cracking goal. Papac - 6. Struggled to cope with Zemmama in the 1st half. Did better in the 2nd. Bougherra - 8. Went on some mazy runs and always looked dangerous going forward. Another flawless performance. Weir - 7. His usual steady self and made some critical interventions. Davis - 7. Another typical performance from the player of the season. McCulloch - 6. Won the tackles and played the easy pass. Thomson - 7. Probably Thomsons best performance this season. Looked sharp and hustled all game. Beasley - 5. Looked out of sorts and a far cry from his performances in December. Boyd - 6. Did nothing yet scored again. Typical Boyd. Idiotic booking. Miller - 6. Well taken goal, won the penalty but didn't really do much else. Seems to do the hard things well but messes up the easier things. SUBS: Lafferty - 7. Probably his best performance this season. Looked dangerous cutting in from the left and a great touch to setup Whittaker. Let's hope he can keep it going. More of the same please. Novo - 6. Didn't really do much. A typical performance from the wee man. My man of the match is..... :sw: Followed closely by :mb: Followed closely by :kt:
  21. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=217:motherwell-1-1-rangers-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :lm: just from :kb: for me in a dreadful team display...
  22. Rangers move into final of the League Cup with comfortable victory at snowy Hampden. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=206:rangers-2-0-st-johnstone-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :sd: again for me but honourable mention for :lm: who did a lot of the spadework to ensure victory.
  23. Rangers retain ten point lead at the top of the SPL as they head into two cup matches over the next week. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=206:rangers-3-0-falkirk-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 :sd: for me but was especially happy with the 2nd half display of Thomson. Honourable mentions to Wilson and Steven Smith as well.
  24. Thanks to OOA for the ratings... http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=201:st-mirren-0-2-rangers-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 I can't comment on the MOM having not seen the game so I'll let the fine folks of Gersnet do this for me!
  25. Rangers snatch important point at the death despite dominating for long spells against defensive Hearts. http://www.gersnetonline.co.uk/2010/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=198:rangers-1--1-hearts-player-ratings-and-mom-poll&catid=35:analysis&Itemid=67 for me as I thought he was very solid defensively and contributed well throughout the game.
