News & Reports on Rangers Youth Teams

Recommended Posts

Haven't heard anything, some of those that have never watched a youth game in their puff tell us everything is great because a couple of players have played 3rd division football. SIX of Killie's team yesterday have played in the SPL, more of a concern is how Mark O'Hara, Mark Taylor and Chris Johnston have developed since Sinky decided they weren't good enough.

A good pic of the three stooges on the official site

Where as they are quick to promote themselves on the back of a win or when a player is called up for international duty, there is no surprise that none of them have any comment to make about yesterday's game.

Most people probably think it is trivial, I think it indicates a slip in standards. The "Academy" section on the official website is so out of date. In the U17 team picture which is out of date, ELEVEN of the 17 players have left the club. Other team pics are out of date too, how hard can it be to update the team pics each season.

Might just be a coincidence but all the youth team pictures have now been updated.

13′s Beat The Weather And Accies

Report on today's game

http://rfcyouths.wordpress.com/2012/12/09/13s-beat-the-weather-and-accies/

Accies centre-forward Aidan Lafferty along with Rangers Stephen Kelly were the standouts on show. The Accies boy has already been at Man Utd on a couple of occassions. Neither are Sinky type players much too small for his liking. I have already highlighted his record in "buying" players, with Him, Tom O'Neill and Billy McLaren in attendance it would be interesting to know their thoughts on the game

Tom Walsh's late substitute appearance on Saturday means he can put a spin on how good a job he is doing

Elfideldo, what's happened to young Telfer? At one stage he seemed well ahead of Aird and McKay in terms of potential, but has not been mentioned in dispatches of late. Is he injured and do you think he has the potential to push himself into first team contention?

I don't think he was every ahead of McKay and Aird to be honest. Mckay was a regular at U19's while Aird broke into the 19's in 2nd half of the season. Charlie wasn't involved at 19's last season.

He was regularly a sub at 17's under Sinclair, until Mark Wotte gave him high praise and all of a sudden he was starting games. He was injured first few months of the season but is fit now, he is one of a group of players in a kinda limbo due to decisions made on what leagues we would play in.

Unlikely to get much game time with the reserves and no other competitive games to play in these players are restricted to friendlies. I do think Charlie has a chance but this season has been a waste of time for him and a few others, yet another example of the failings of the current setup.

Rangers U20's lost 2-0 to St.Johnstone on Friday.

Yet another closed door game, not even players parents were to be allowed in. Although they forgot to tell St.Johnstone this, so when some of them turned up there was a change of heart, small comfort to the Rangers parents that didn't travel to Murray Park.

Details are limited, don't expect anything on the official site, coaches are always very quiet after a defeat.
