Lincoln have signed young Rangers striker Steven Lennon on loan for the remainder of the season.

The Scotland Under-21 international could be offered a permanent deal at Sincil Bank if he impresses during his initial spell with the League Two club.

Lennon will go straight into manager Chris Sutton's squad for Tuesday's clash at Hereford with both clubs struggling at the wrong end of the table.

The 22-year-old, who has made three SPL substitute appearances for Gers, came through the ranks of Rangers' youth team and spent a spell on loan with Partick Thistle last season.

Sutton told the club's official website: "Steven was recommended to me by a couple of contacts in Scotland and this is a great chance for him to play some football and stake a claim for a permanent contract.

"He can play up front or in midfield so gives us a number of options.

"We'll have a look at him until the end of the season and if he impresses then something could well be sorted out for next season."

He was highly thought of around the time he made his first team debut but has since gone backwards in his development and wasn't helped by a poor loan spell at Partick last season.

Shame but hopefully he can go onto do well elsewhere.

I remember the lad N'Guessan signing for Lincoln and he has moved onto better things from there.
