I make no apologies for posting Edgars view on events, you can make up your own mind as to the validity or otherwise of that view. My own take is that it is very very worrying that this person and his cohorts continue to attempt to ingratiate themselves with main players, in my view he has no concept of the reality of the past or present situation, the comment about the man who owns the club said it all for me and you are well aware of my views on Minty. Unless people and in particular those who presume to represent start from a factual basis, we the supporters that is, shall remain adrift in a sea of misinformation and divided factions.

Murray, Ellis and the Trust

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In response to a run of texts and PMs, here's what we know and my personal tuppenceworth:

Ellis - spoke to him through the early weeks of the takeover. We did some digging and couldn't see where his money was coming from. Kept polite in the media in case we were wrong - it has happened before, after all - but remained sceptical. A few well-kent posters on here tried to calm the hysteria but were accused of anti-Ellis scaremongering. C'est la vie.

Ellis seemed a nice bloke but never had the cash. I posted a while ago that a deal would be agreed or not agreed that weekend. it was, and he was given a deadline to find the cash. As I'm sure you have gathered, it passed.

Murray - I don't think he has any grand plan. That's giving him too much credit. This situation has never had any long-term plan. It has been month-to-month and sometimes week-to-week. Murray was completely out of the picture at Christmas. Rangers increasing success led to a softening of attitudes at Lloyds, a diminishing influence for Muir and a superb performance from Johnston and Bain. They decided a month ago on a course of action and are now following it. Murray's intentions? You'd need to ask him. His situation with Lloyds is better and he has a bit more room for manoeuvre.

Trust - Came very close to a deal for backing for a fans buy-out. It didn't happen. We haven't stopped working on it and never will. Is it close? No.

Future - This is it for the foreseeable. No point getting angry about it. It just is. If you wake up in the morning with a toothache, you can spend all day moaning about it, but it won't change the fact you have toothache.

You be the judge, Edgar claims a deal was done, the LSE announcement says different, how this rewriting of events is clarifying anything is lost on me, smacks more of waffle to me.

You take his comments the same as you take everyone else's - with salt.

The Trust were sceptical of Ellis from the start and, like you, have been proven correct no matter if Ellis' intentions were genuine or not.

It is now up to them to work harder on uniting supporters and improving their relationship with the club. Edgar himself is leaving over the next couple of months - perhaps it's time for a few more of their old guard to leave as well to give the organisation fresh impetuous.

People tend to see this about being right or wrong, IMHO nothing could be further from the reality, addressing and reporting what little facts we had or knew of would have gone a long way to letting fans or posters make a reasoned judgement. Once unnamed sources are entered into calculations the likely-hood of a fair and reasoned judgement becomes all the harder, once the content has been embellished beyond recognition.

You've claimed a few things yourself over the last few months and have hardly named your source...

Fact is, we've all been guessing so anyone claiming 'I told you so' isn't really doing so from a position of huge credibility. What Edgar says may or may not be right - after all he'll only be basing his opinion on his own sources - but the only truth is that the status quo remains.

1. SDM owns Rangers.

2. Rangers remain for sale.

3. We have no credible buyer on the horizon.

4. We have little financial flexibility.

5. We continue to operate with the help of Lloyds Bank.

This decision by the bankrupt Mint ( morally that is before I get jumped upon ) leaves more questions unanswered than answered , what is the position of AJ , he was brought in as he has said umpteen times specifically to find a buyer , but the chalatan now states we are not for sale , first time in 4 years , so what has changed his mind as he is not coming back in any capacity .

We are leaderless , rudderless ,haven't a pocket to piss in , and looks like we will be cobbling a squad together at the last minute of Bosman's and cheap championship regects , the future's looking really great NOT

It is easy to be negative so we have to use this issue as an opportunity for improvement.

I'd like to hear what the fan groups have to say on how they intend to approach the situation.

there is only so many times we can look positive mate , over the last few years especially we have had the shit knocked out of us repeatedly and not by enemies of the club , but by the club and its owner , I just dont see the point anymore , and that's not a rash statement , I have been feeling that way for the last few months as this whole sorry saga played out in front of us .:(

Speaking as an individual here, I think the first priority is to try to get a meeting arranged and to get a further understanding of how the land now lies at the club. AJ, Muir, LBG, MIH etc.

More strategically, my view is that there should ideally be some form of consolidation of approach and priorities amongst the fans groups. Whether that's possible or not I don't know yet but I believe this should be the aim.

Following on, I would like to see the 'Trust movement' move into the type of ground occupied at Newcastle which has widespread support and significant financial backing. I'm painfully aware that this is far easier to say than do, but anything else seems to me to be lightweight.

On the plus side, there are some building blocks in place already and I genuinely don't believe its an insurmountable task.

These are the things I'd like to start socialising and promoting, but there will need to be talks first to see if and how everyone can pool our resources and what people believe is achievable.

Can't necessarily comment on everything but would be interested in everyone's thoughts.

That all sounds very positive but, like you mention, easier said than done. It will take some good old fashioned hard work to start with.

I'm eager to help debate and work on supporter representation issues and I know most of the other online sites are as well in terms of the internet community. As always, taking the message offline is more difficult but that's where the Assembly and Association could bring their resources into play.

Like you say, we need clarity from the club first and foremost. From there we then need an agreed strategy and leadership from the fan groups. Some will be understandable cynical in that respect but I'd like to think we can move forward irrespective of doubt while also using any criticism to our advantage.

The issues that prevent this from happening are the same as they were 12 months ago and the same as they will be in 12 months time.
