Rangers 2 - 1 Kilmarnock: Player Ratings and MoM Poll

Recommended Posts

Agreed with Naisy as MOTM, and was happy with performances of Edu, Lafferty and Boughy.

Thought Papac and Weir had mares, and our defending of corners was abysmal, with Killie's training ground moves catching us out several times.

Overall was quite pleased with the start, although the lack of a clinical finisher was all to obvious. It was these type of games Boyd got a lot of his goals from, and we could easily have had the game out of sight at 3 or 4 nil before we got our second, but I am guessing we are going to have a lot of these tighter affairs this season unless we can add some quality.

Also the bench was really weak, and although young Hutton came on and did ok, there was nothing on the bench to change the game, and this will be required over the course of a long season.

Yeah, agree with that.

The lack of an out-ball was all too obvious as well. Lafferty tries hard and did quite well - same with Whittaker. However, we need a proper wide player with pace and the lack of one is extremely worrying.

Jelavic would probably solve one problem while Tommy Smith and Barazite may help with the other. Time is of the essence though as Hibs will cause us more problems next week.
