Generic transfer window thread - rumours and news

For £150k. Going by his form on my FM11 saved game where he's now worth £7m at my Leicester team, I'd say he'd be worth a punt at £150k.

Leigh Griffiths is poised to seal a £150,000 transfer to the English Premier League with Wolves, but could remain a Dundee player until the end of the season.

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy has been watching the 20-year-old Scotland B international for months and yesterday moved to take him to England.

Dundee have decided to cash in on their leading asset and accountant Bryan Jackson will use the money raised from the transfer to help the club emerge from administration.

Griffiths is mulling over the offer to move to the English Premier League and is expected to accept.

McCarthy is willing to let the youngster head back to Dens until the summer. But with the Dark Blues the subject of a transfer embargo, it remains to be seen whether this will be allowed.

Dundee have contacted the SFL and the SFA to make the case that Griffiths should be allowed to remain at Dens and the signing ban should not apply because he is already at the club.

Manager Barry Smith is working with a threadbare squad and losing Griffiths would leave him with only former Ross County forward Sean Higgins as a recognised first-team attacker.

The only other forward on Dundees books is 17-year-old Leighton McIntosh, who is regarded as a promising talent. But McIntosh is some way short of being ready for regular First Division football.

Griffiths was sent off against Motherwell in the Scottish Cup on Sunday and faces a three-game ban.
