I think the secret to graphical ones would be to demand that a specific size is used as that would keep things looking tidy and uniform size-wise. We'd have to play about a little to get the perfect size, but just for example, an image that took up the same amount of space as Barry's 2 line signarture would be approximately 964x64 px and be no more than 20k in filesize.
