Summer Transfer thread - fun while it lasted!

Recommended Posts

Schaars was pretty good on the older versions of FM. However I think he would be not bad even on my FM basis :P. Isn't he more a McCulloch type player?

I doubt it, I think he would be wanting almost parity with his own wages at Metalist. So its a no from me.

Their valuations on the website are pretty weird. Jelavic is very undervalued especially considering it should really have jumped up to the price we paid for him in the summer.

I remember checking the website and Miller was valued around 6m Euros and that was in December.

Schaars is a far better player than McCulloch imo but he would indeed be in the same position.

Jelavic to Manchester United?

Nikica Jelavic could fulfill his dream of playing in the Premier League soon. The potential Premier League champions Manchester United have been scouting him.

Tipp3 Bundesliga | 05.12.2011 | 17:52 | JOHN KARNER

Around the Ex-Rapidler Nikica Jelavic is the beginning of a real transfer story. The striker, who last summer moved from Rapid to Glasgow Rangers, has attracted the attention of the Manchester United scouts, according to the Croatian sports daily Sportske Novosti.

Rapid is not involved in any resale.

Jelavic, despite injury problems, has had a dream season with the Glasgow Rangers in Scotland, having played in 21 league games scoring 14 times and delivering six assists. In addition, the Croatian international striker has scored three goals in three cup matches. These qualities have not escaped the attention of the Manchester United scouts.

As transfer the sum of 15 million pounds is rumored, that is 17.2 million euros. An amount for which the Rangers would look on kindly, as they paid "only" 4.9 million euros to Rapid. Particularly bitter for all fans of the Green White: Rapid would not get any resale money, because the Rangers rejected this during the negotiations.

It will be very tricky for Standard Li¨ge to keep Eliaquim Mangala at the club. The 19-year-old defender was already mentioned at some of the top clubs in England, Juventus and Glasgow Rangers, but now also has the opportunity to stay closer to home and play in France. Paris Saint-Germain and Lille have shown interest in Standardâs super talent.

If we got 15 million for Jelavic.... Whyte just made a boat load of money in next to no time.

15 million for us would be VERY hard to turn down, even though I dont want to see the big man leave. 15 million would immediately provide McCoist with the needed warchest and it also would save Whyte from having to open his wallet.

That said, I doubt Man U would pay 15 mill for him - he is an SPL player after all....

I would hate to lose Jelavic but at £15m its too good to refuse. I was saying when he was linked with Villa that if they pay virtually £24m for Bent I think Jelavic is worth £10m, considering he was linked with them.

Man Utd have a number of strikers. They wouldn't be spending big in that area, they need a goalkeeper and SAF is very reluctant to spend money. He usually only makes one big signing a season now and it will be a goalkeeper.

NIKICA JELAVIC last night revealed Man United want him for £13million.

The Rangers striker's goals have helped push the Ibrox side to the brink of their third straight SPL title but Jelavic has thrown a spanner in the works by confirming reports in Croatia's media about interest in him by United.

But the former Rapid Vienna frontman swears he is thinking only about winning his first league medal with Rangers.

Jelavic said: "I know United are interested. My agent has established contact with them but that's all I know.

"My agent has mentioned a figure of £13million and I came to Rangers for £4m so it would be a big gain for the club.

"However, I would only think of a transfer in the summer. I'm fine here and enjoying every moment.

"The Rangers fans give me goosebumps - they really love me and I am looking forward to the Kilmarnock game on Sunday.

"If we win, it will be the first title I have won where I have been one of the key figures. I would call it my first real title."

Jelavic has been a revelation since recovering from injury in January, hitting 18 goals for Walter Smith's side.

A move to United, England's champions in waiting, would seem unlikely given the enormous firepower of Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez and Dimitar Berbatov.

But reports in Croatia have indicated Jelavic could replace Berbatov, the Bulgarian having lost his first-team spot.

I would love to get an extra year out of him to be honest before we cash in but a fee or £13-£15 Million would be very hard to turn down especially if McCoist was to get it all to reinvest in the playing squad. Still hope nothing comes of this though and it is just paper talk.
