What you say bluebear53 may be true, but I beleive that there is a larger campaign on the agenda and it has already had some influence as our politicians have quite rightly began to be more specific in their law making as from what we've heard of their new anti-sectarian laws. I would like the Scottish Parliment to go further on this and get it written that the country will allow NO religious institution to make vague comments and threats, and there should be no possiblility of any religion gainiing control of Scottish life and society.

That's the way it should be, but the RC church is already a powerful beast in Scotland and throughout the world unfortunately. When you look at the amount of scandal they've endured you'd have to say that taking their power over society away is almost impossible. It's a sad state of affairs.

I understand what you mean Zappa, but if people want to believe in any particular 'philosophy', so be it, but the 'power' of any said philosopy has to be restricted so that the elected government of the country are the people whos say what's what.

Lord Reid referred to everyone at Ibrox as 'Holy Willies' at the beginning of the season. This is a reference to Robert Burns' poem Holy Willie, who was in fact a real minister that Burns was accusing of hypocrisy. Is Reid trying to claim that all of us at Ibrox are hypocrits? And if he is, should he be allowed to say these types of things?

History teaches us hopefully that all beasts should be kept under control. The periods when they haven't are very apparent - as are the consequences.

All I can say is it's taken moral giants like Pat Nevin long enough to come out and mention celtic in connection with sectarianism - he's been listening to it for years and chosen to say nothing. Now Celtic are also unavoidably in the frame, it suits his media career to climb on another bandwagon. This country is neck-deep in hypocrisy. Christ what a pathetic mess of lies we are.
