Are Spartans a worry?

Recommended Posts

From a discussion i'm having on RM.

Most resent comments by Spartans, if we get rejected..

Same paper claims "Spartans have been encouraged to bid by several SFL clubs." http://m.dailyrecord...hFootballLeague

Plus lets not forget who's chairman was part of the SFA panel. Spartans chairman Craig Graham.

Obviously we'll find out tomorrow, if the SFL accept our application first before a decision on a league. But something seems dodgy with Spartans waiting in the wings.

Is talk of Spartans taking an SFL place at our expense a realistic worry? I know it's obviously possible in theory, but even with all the hatred we've had to put up with I can't quite honestly believe that could happen.

With all due respect to Spartans our infrastructure blows them totally out of the water.

Have Spartans qualified in any way for the SFL?

They don't have to qualify, they just have to apply if there is a vacancy.

It appears that the SFL are admitting Rangers, so there will be no vacancy the only debate is which division Rangers go in to.

However, one or two SFL clubs are saying Rangers should have to apply with all comers.

That said, I have it on good authority that if that were the case Spartans would not be applying.

BTW dB, excellent piece yesterday and great point about the Bundesliga having rules and not having fans or other clubs vote on the future of one of their own.
