Rangers Womens’ Update

RANGERS are delighted today to announce further detail around our exciting Womens’ and Girls’ programme at the club.

It has been a busy festive period for the Rangers with the announcement of six new professional signings with more to follow ahead of the new season starting in February.

Rangers are delighted to be pioneers in the women’s game in Scotland and are the first full-time professional women’s team in the country to be fully integrated into the football department.

From January, our high-performance training centre in Milngavie will be the home of four professional teams with the newly formed Women’s first team, joining our male under-18’s, the men’s Development Squad and of course the men’s first team.

Rangers Sign Megan Bell

RANGERS are today delighted to confirm the signing of international midfielder Megan Bell from Durham Women.

Northern Irish international Bell, joins on a professional contract from the FA Women’s Championship side for two years.

The 18 year old, who joined Durham in the summer from Linfield Ladies has been capped six times by her country, after also featuring for the under-17 team and captaining the under-19 side.

Gers The Best Christmas Present

 

EGAN Bell says signing for Rangers was the best Christmas present she could have wished for, after making her childhood dreams a reality by putting pen to paper with the Light Blues.

The Northern Ireland international became Rangers latest signing in an exciting off-season period for the women’s team and admits it felt surreal to be joining the club she calls “My team.”

Bourma Signs New Contract

RANGERS Football Club are delighted to announce that Daina Bourma has signed a contract extension with the club.

The 20-year-old signed for the Light Blues in September, and has now extended her stay in Scotland with a new one-year contract.

Martinez Extends Rangers Deal

ANGERS Football Club are delighted to announce that Lisa Martinez has extended her loan deal from Montpellier.

The French internationalist who joined in September, and has now signed a six-month contract extension.

The 19-year-old defender settled into the back-four at the end of last season, before injury ruled her out for the last few months of the campaign.

Rangers Sign Indian International Bala Devi

RANGERS are delighted to announce the signing of India National Team attacker Bala Devi from Manipur Police Sports Club, subject to international clearance.

The 29-year-old joins the club on an 18-month-deal after a successful spell on trial at Rangers in November.

Malky Intrigued By Challenge

MALKY Thomson said the intrigue of a new challenge attracted him to becoming Joint Head Coach of Rangers Women ahead of an exciting 2020 season.

The 51-year-old hopes he can bring his coaching experience to the women’s side, having worked in the English Premier League with Birmingham City and in Asia.

Malky: We Are In A Good Place

RANGERS Women’s Joint Head Coach Malky Thomson feels the squad are in a good place ahead of their first competitive game of the season on Sunday.

The new-look Rangers side will welcome Queen’s Park Ladies to the Hummel Training Centre in the first group match of the SWPL Cup.

I Have A Good Feeling About Gers

DEFENDER Carly Girasoli says she has a good feeling about the coming season after becoming the latest new Rangers signing.

The 17-year-old said it felt like a dream come true to put pen to paper on her first professional deal, joining from current SWPL champions Glasgow City.

Clare Gemmell Signs Contract Extension

RANGERS Football Club are delighted to announce that club captain Clare Gemmell has signed a six month contract extension with the club.

The midfielder has been at Rangers for five years and will stay on as captain in the new-look women’s squad for the 2020 campaign.

CLUB Captain Clare Gemmell says she is proud to be part of Rangers ahead of the new 2020 SWPL campaign.

The 33-year-old, who has been at the club for five years, signed a contract extension today and admitted she would love to finish her career at the club.

Ness: Excitement Is Growing

ZOE NESS feels Rangers’ investment in the women’s game has helped make it an exciting time for football in Scotland.

The forward has made the move north of the border from Lewes in the English FA Championship for her first taste of SWPL football.

DEMI Vance says the Rangers Women’s squad are excited to get their 2020 season underway on Sunday.

The new season ... did not start.

 

Postponed: RWFC v Queen’s Park

 

THIS afternoon’s SWPL Cup tie against Queen’s Park has been postponed due to safety and travel concerns. 

The Gers were set to welcome the SWPL2 side to the Hummel Training Centre for the opening game of the 2020 campaign.

Information on the rearranged fixture date will be announced in due course.

Scheduled next game was away to Dundee United on Sunday 14th, KO probably 14.00.

Rangers Sign Nicola Docherty

RANGERS are delighted to confirm the signing of Scotland international Nicola Docherty on a two-year-deal from Glasgow City.

The 27-year-old will add defensive quality to the exciting new look Rangers Women’s squad after making the switch from the current SWPL Champions.

She has gone on to win the league with City in every season since, as well as five Scottish Women’s Cups and four SWPL Cups. Additionally Docherty has Champions League experience, having featured in the competition numerous times.

Docherty: I Couldn’t Turn It Down

NICOLA DOCHERTY says she couldn’t turn Rangers down after the Scotland international returned to the club for second spell, eight years after leaving.

The left-back departed for Glasgow City in 2012 after coming through the Gers academy and now comes back to wear Rangers blue as a professional player – something she admits she could never have imagined happening as a young girl.

We Are Ready To Get Started

GREGORY Vignal says his new-look Rangers squad are ready for the start of the new campaign after two cup postponements.

The call-offs mean the Gers have now had a seven-week long pre-season, and the joint head coach feels the squad are ready for their first competitive game.
