Union Bears statement

Recommended Posts

You need to get authority from the Council to organise a march. Someone has to put their name forward to take responsibility. Presumably the UBs did not do that and when advised woud have no option than to cancel it. If they had gone ahead with it then the organisers would have likely faced charges in the same way as anyone else would if they had done it.

Actually by law you must tell the police in writing, six days before a public march if you are the organiser

Not what you're looking for? ↓ By law you must tell the police in writing 6 days before a public march if youâ??re the organiser.

Tell the police the:

date and time of the march

route

the names and addresses of the organisers

The police have the power to:

limit or change the route of your march

set any other condition of your march

If you arrange a march at short notice, you must still tell the police as soon as you can.

The police can also:

change the location

limit how long a rally lasts

limit the amount of people who attend

stop a sit-down protest if it blocks road traffic or public walkways

If thereâ??s no march involved

If thereâ??s no march organised as part of your protest, you donâ??t have to tell the police.

Its a group of supporters meeting up to walk to the match. Why should they need permission, they will all still be traveling to Hampden regardless, as will thousands of others .

Away fans meet up and walk to the match in groups in just about every country in the world where football is played.

Shit! I've not been on here for about 10 days and now I'm reading of 'marches' to Hampden

Is this to do with football? I go to Ibrox Stadium most weeks in the Govan Stand and don't get a bit of bother from anyone. The football's no bad at times and the cops are brilliant and very helpful.

Must be something up 'over there'

The Union Bears have made it clear since their inception that they will never accept that any amongst their own could be at fault for anything.

I wish we just got back to supporting the club and not arguing with the police....
