silly boy but hardly a big deal.

Betting against your own club isn't a big deal??? Black was our corner and free kick taker last season...if you are betting against your club pretty easy to make a cunt of all of them...and thats just scratching the surface.

If guilty of betting against Gers, has to go asap....simple as that.

Betting on inverness to get beat by rangers on a coupon would hardly be unusual.

I'm guessing he bet on us getting beat in the cup games against SPL teams, so ICT at Ibrox and Dundee Utd at Tannadice. I can't remember whether he played in those games or not. If he played in those games, then it can't have been those ones he bet against us in.

Lifted from elsewhere:

"Then registered club" means the club you were registered with at the time you placed the bet.

The allegations are:-

1) that during the period from 2006 to 2013, on three separate occasions, he bet against the club he was registered with at the time.

It could have been three different occasions and three different clubs. It could have been one club. The three occasions could all have been in 2006. They could all have been in 2013.

2) that during the seven year period, on 10 separate occasions, he bet on a game involving the club he was registered with.

He could have bet to win or draw. He could have bet on exact scores. They could all have been in 2006. They could all have been in 2013. They could have been spread over the seven year period. There is a myriad of possibilities.

3) that during the seven year period, he placed bets on 147 football matches (with the implication that none involved the club he was registered with or they would have been incorporated in allegation 1) or 2).

The dates suggest they have evidence of at least one transaction on 4th March 2006; of at least one transaction on 28th July 2013 and 158 transactions in between. There is no specification beyond that. All 158 could have been in 2006. All 158 could have been in 2013.

Everything else is speculation. If the allegations are proved (particualrly in relation to allegation 1)) his behaviour is reprehensible. What is equally reprehensible however, is the apparent 'leaking' of information to the media.

STV article -

Rangers midfielder Ian Black has been accused of betting against his own club on three occasions by the Scottish Football Association.

The former Inverness CT and Hearts man is accused of putting money on his team to not win matches between March 4, 2006 and July 28, 2013.

Black is also accused of betting on a further ten games in which the club he was playing for were involved in, as well as betting on a further 147 games not involving his team.

The Scottish FA have stated that there is no evidence to suggest the player acted in a manner or influenced proceedings during a game which led to him making money.

STV understands the most recent match Black bet upon was Rangers' tie with Albion Rovers in the Ramsdens Cup on July 28, 2013. Rangers won the game 4-0.

It is also understood that the player's actions came to light through his use of a Ladbrokes phone account.

The player will be asked to attend a hearing at Hampden on Thursday, September 12. He has until Monday, August 26 to provide evidence to the governing body.

Footballers registered in Scotland are prohibited by the Scottish FA from betting on any football match.

If found guilty, players can be fined from £500 to £1,000,000 and can be either suspended or expelled from playing professional football.

They are also not allowed to "behave in a manner, during or in connection with a match in which the party has participated or has any influence, either direct or indirect, which could give rise to an event in which they or any third party benefits financially through betting".

The Scottish FA however have made clear there is "no evidence" to suggest Black has breached the second rule.

A Rangers spokesperson said: "The club is aware of the SFA's notice of complaint and are currently investigating the matter."
